Can you post the VIN number so anyone looking to buy a Fiero can look first, sometimes stolen cars go for private sale out of state and the DMV doesn't get the "this is a stolen car" information. But if we Fiero owners had the VIN we could look first, and instead of buying it, call the cops. The other thing is, Fiero's have their VIN's printed on a lot of parts too.

Some people are terrified of posting such a thing on the internet, I know that it's public information in my state, so anyone can get it. so here it is. 502-18- oops... that's my SSN

Buddy i'd like to express my condolences. All I can say is thank god it wasn't the v8. That would severely upset me. So when you finally get a chance to calm down and can look on the bright side (takes a while) be glad at least you still have the v8.
Dude that sucks the cops are pretty worthless too. I had a stereo system stolen and they didn't even come out. They just took a report over the phone. But the hard reality is you will probably not get it back. Will your insurance pick up the bill? And its most likely some one you know. Just keep checking craigslist, news paper, junk yards ect... But I am very sorry you lost your fiero. Its like loosing a family member.

In NC the police use a city directory to contact citizens....This may create problems when someone moves or changes phone numbers...I also had a car stolen 15 years ago (mother in law) and it was recovered in danville va....Instead of contacting me with the info on the warrant the police dept went by the city directory which was incorrect....so a few months later danville police contacted me but only told me it had been recovered and to come and get it.....950 dollars in inpound fees....So if I was you call around every week to the inpound lots not the police depts....Just to make sure it is not just sitting around collecting fees

Yes Matt, You are right. I have disabled Ling in 3 ways, including removing the battery.
Julia was only worth $1000 at tops, but she started and stopped every time she was suppose to. She was a good car. I will miss her.

If it's been a week your odds of recovery are starting to get pretty slim. Hopefully you can beat the odds.
About 15 years ago I had a pickup stolen. I had had a tire changed and the station left it outside with the keys in it (at my request so I could pick it up very early in the morning) and when I got there it was gone. The trooper that took the information told me that in that area if they didn't find a stolen vehicle within 24-48 hours they normally didn't find it. I asked why that was and he said "That's about how long it takes them to get the vehicle to Mexico."
Don't know if that still holds true or not, but I'll bet out here in central/western KS it is.
I'll watch when I'm on I70 for any "new" red aero notchies. They're really not that common and this is about where they'd have gotten before they had to fill gas from you.

You have contributed so much to the forum. This sucks. Sorry to hear about this...just found this thread.
Funny how people make fun of us for driving a Fiero, but then someone wants one bad enough to steal it from someone. I will say a prayer that your Fiero may be recovered. I had my 2000 Z24 stolen...it was recovered weeks later in bad shape. I wish you the best.

i am keeping my es out around here, i know pretty much EVERY fiero around town, so i'll see if anything sticks out like a sore thumb, as a strange fiero will. i catch it in a parking lot i'll call up a buddy of mine and have him come out and meet the police with his tow truck, and have it towed to my place so it'd be in good hands and you could come out and pick her up yourself.
Just saw the thread; ouch, that's harsh. The wife and I will keep an eye out for it. Sadly, when it comes to stuff like this, I don't think the cops even care. I was on I-435 and saw a car going _very_ fast that was _very_ messed up (think bad hit and run wreck). The back end was mashed in so bad the license plate wasn't even visible/readable. I called the cops to report it and they weren't interested since I couldn't give them the tag #.
Had a friend that lived in crime dot (people in KC will know what I'm talking about). He had a motorcycle stolen from his driveway; had only owned it 36 hours. He reported it to the cops. 6 months later, the cops stopped by his house to ask him if he had any leads in the case. About 8 months after that, it _did_ show up. It was running w/o lights around 1am and t-boned an SUV doing about 110 MPH. The cops again stopped by his house to tell him they'd found a motor cycle that was reported to be owned by him, it was involved in a accident and he needed to come with them (since it was obviously his fault). The cops NEVER even checked to see if the bike was stolen. He had to dig up the police report to clear his name.

does anyone know to save a video file. I'll have to give you my id and pin if you think you can help. It's a video of my car running a red light 2 days after it was stolen. at 7 in the morning.
YEAH! now I get to go to court...
I'm disappointed, it shows it at 17mph. that car could take that corner at 30... hummmp

Wow it's like getting robbed, AND getting kicked in the nuts. If you filed the report that it was stolen prior to the date the video was taken, they should throw it out. Never underestimate the stupidity of a traffic court judge, though.
Was the video taken in the area you live in? I'd start driving around that area looking for the car. It needs a login and PIN to access the video. Can you see the driver at all?
That is so blatant (sp) of that thief to be driving around like it is nothing. I am pissed just seeing that pic. I really hope that you get justice out of this.

Ya, i'd camp out at that corner with a few of my buddies. Lots of munchies, coffee and some sporting goods...i am from Jersey after all. ....good chance he (or she) will drive by again. Never underestimate the idiocy of a criminal. And now you know that the car is still local.

Hmm traffic cameras here take pictures of the driver as well as the car and the tag. That would have been worth the ticket.
Don't they have a camera on the other side of the road? I think I would camp out there too unless that was the last time the car took the corner. Sorry it was taken. Low life scum bags!

Well your problem is that you didn't report the donuts that were sitting in the trunk. So are you camping out at the intersection? Remember, the theft may have sold it to someone. Like it was posted, at least you know it is still in one piece.

That's a slap in the face. At least you know its still in good shape.
my thoughts exactly !!! Talk about a slap. Man i would go to that intersection on the same day about the same time, and see what i can fish out. Maybe a couple other days also.
