I use a screen I found at Home depot. (front door protector) then glassed it in BETWEEN the layers of fiberglass that the hood is made of.

I let it get all the wet it wants! still in front of the trunk seal and never had a problem yet!

I must say that Rockcrawls extractors are very well suited for the fiero lines. Hopefully he will have more available, sometime.

no need to keep water out - its just the radiator - it gets soaked anytime it rains stock

i see 2 different styles here....a close opening by the fan, and a "tunnel" type opening by the windshield.........is one more effective than the other for hot air release?/downforce @ high speeds?
are they both as effective for keeping your headlights down?

the one cowl type i made i ended up taking off. it's in this old thread with some others i'm fooling with, and other peoples too...

https://www.fiero.nl/forum/Archives/Archive-000002/HTML/20030531-1-024398-2.html

what i found was since it was shorter than most others cowl hoods, i couldn't open the front section up as much as possible and still cover it. it didn't matter at a stop. the fan forced air out the front opening i made and the rear by the winshield. in motion air still got sucked in at the windshield. even though it was still blowing out the front i didn't know if it was air from the radiator or air just coming in the back and blowing out the front. i didn't like that, plus the raised hood kind of stopped appealing to me also. it's a givaway if someone will come get it.

since i'm posting let me beg again for some fiberglass guy to consider making a front hood vent that would match the kahines/skitime style rear center vent. i want something like that for my gt.

This is a different idea. I took a hood scoop from a box truck and molded it to my hood.

I've done a few hoods... Here I believe I have some pictures of a couple. Keep in mind I was just fooling around with most of them. Such as the 5" cowl that a buddy and I decided to do the other day... haha..

Below, From Fiero Int'l.

Below, Home built 2'' Drop hood. (Needed to cut 1" out of trunk wall and re-seal it.

Below, Home built scoops, the other one is in a mold at the moment so I couldn't finish the mock up for you. But I am sure you get the picture.

Below, Talked about above, however a buddy and I were fooling around and decided to build a 5" cowl. Saw a mustang driving around with one and thought, Hey why not Muscle out a fiero for no reason what so ever. Maybe more people will think that theres a V8 under the hood instead of my spare tire? haha

Ohh well, I hope these help.
