The dates are set, Saturday, April 17 at 9:00 AM till ???? is the show & shine with cruise. Sunday, the 18th is the traditional breakfast get together and the good byes. There will be a get together Friday night for the early arrivals. Great cars, Greater fun and the GREATEST people. I will try to post and reply at lease once daily, I realy look foward to seeing 30 + Fieros loaded with old friends and getting to make some new ones as well. If your in the SOUTH, Shut your mouth this is the place to be, If your in the NORTH without the sun, leave your jacket and come see how the WEST was won.
I had the immense pleasure of making it down to San Antonio a couple of years ago for a Round-Up. Trust me, it's worth the trip! Wish I could be there.

Thanks for helping me keep this going. Blake, let Jenifer know it will be COOKIE weather for sure. I promise you will meet some of the GREATEST people at this event. There will be some cool cars and some people just starting. It is a Show and Shine, the only points you get are in great company and a ton of knowledge from hands on experience. The weather will be great around the low 70s and no rain. Say that with me, "no rain!." Remember last year we were all either in shorts or wish we were. The only thing is Reven kevin has such skinney legs.

With any luck I will be there with Proud-2 with it's newly configured Phase II interior... Just promise me that no one will let Revin drive a boat!

Just an update, everything going together well for the event. Forcasting a great time with lots of scattered friends with a high regard for a little weird two seat american car. This get together has become a tradition for us at the A.A.F.O. We will continue to do this untill the day comes that noone shows, as for now we are averaging over 30 cars a year and growing. If you are anywhere that can get you here, I promise you you will enjoy the cars, the fun and most of all the people.

I pre-registered up to go last year, but the car was still in the shop getting a new eng, so I didn't make it. Gonna try again, but haven't done a dang thing to it this winter, so it is going to look pretty crappy. Leaky valve cover gasket, annd a ton of west Texas dust & dirt. We're not allowed to wash cars anymore, so we get out theere in the rarely occuring rain & do it. The last time, it was 3am. I'm due a few days away from San Angelo anyway.

What great joy, to hear so many of our friends are going to be here. We want this to be the best ever and without you guys and gals it just would be another AAFO meeting.
I want to extend a warm welcome to the new people who have shown a desire to be here. Every year its gets better and better. Some of you go back all the way to the first Round-up eight years ago. I came in at Round-Up II so I have known some of you for seven years.
For you new people I promise you something...... you come one time and you will put The ROUND-UP on your Fiero calendar. There will be GREAT cars, GREATER fun and the GREATEST people. It's a Show-N-Shine, no points, no judges and everyone gets a hand-made wood plaque with a picture of your ride on it, no cheap plastic here.
If somebody can sell me a good 5 speed I'll come. I live outside of El Paso.
AAFO's Round Up is such a fun event. I attened several of them while I was a Texas resident......definitely not an event to miss.
As far as you needing a 5-speed.....this one was a popular one at the Round Up, it was on the Round Up shirt from last year too (Beat that REVIN!!! ) and it is for sale!: https://www.fiero.nl/forum/Forum4/HTML/010229.html

Revin you need to show, I hear we are scheduling a boat race or something, I may have misunderstood. Lets see, for years you come when you have to tow you car any further than 25 miles, with black primer on faded red paint. Then you get in where it runs great and looks as great... you don't know if you will be here, give me a break. It was great to hear from Falcon Fiero, you were a point of discussion as well. You will allways be AAFO to us and you are missed.
Blake does Jen have the oven pre-heated yet. If you come to ROUND-UP VIII for no other reason than the free cookies Jennifer makes...then the trip is worth while. She is Martha Stewart and Betty Crocker, only younger and nicer and she has not been charged with a felony.
It was great to tell the AAFO all the old friends that have shown up on the post and/or scheduled to be here, redeye,Chuck,MaryJane, stimpy, Blake & Jen, Joel, texasfiero,,jscott and so on and so on. I hope some of you new people get to come and meet some of the gratest people in the Fiero community.
Thanks Cliff for putting us on the "events schedule" These kind of things are what makes this "THE" Fiero forum. We don't tell you enough what you mean to the Fiero community.
See you in April,

Really? Tell that to our lawyer... j/k
Hey Mike, the question was raised at the NTFC show on Saturday is the event going to be in the mall parking lot as usual... or are we going to be at the dealership? Also, is the hote the Red Roof again?

The show will again be at West Lakes Mall. The Red Roof Inn again has special rates. Sign on to the AAFO site to sign up, get more data, and see pictures from previous ROUND-UPs. We will have a get together Friday night as usual at the Dennys in front of the Inn for you early arrivials. Then the young can go party, right, while us old ones go home. I understand margaritas and cholocate chip cookies work well together.
What's with your alternator? Let me know if there is anything I can help with!
You can't miss a Round-Up over a silly alternator!
P.S. I just put a new alternator on my Fiero - blew some diodes jumpstarting a big truck! - won't be doing that again! Anyway, Advance Auto has the best prices on Alternators and O'Reillys has the bolts in grade 8.
(I'm posting this on Pennock's to keep this thread up front!)

I attended this show in 1999 (or 1998?) and 2000 and had a great time. The first year I went I drove my '88 GT, which at that point had about 11K miles on it. It was (and still is) the longest distance I have ever driven it (about 2500 miles total). I remember getting to the show very late because I underestimated the distance from Denver. I did not have time to even wash it before being judged and as a result, my 12K mile '88 GT lost to a car with 120K miles! Oh well.
The last time I went I drove a ratty '87 coupe , but still managed to win a trophy (I still have no idea why!)
I will *try* to brinig the convertible down this year. The only problem I face is school. This is my last year (I graduate in May), so taking a weekend off to drive to Texas that close to finals/graduation will be tough. I likely won't know until teh last minute whether or not I will attend (I'll either show up or I won't kinda thing). Hopefully I can swing it......I really did have a great time when I participated.

No need to worry about this anymore! Two years ago now, it was decided by the participants that it would be a "Show and Shine" from now on. This way the out of town guests don't have to worry about how it looks after traveling. Great idea in my opinion.....much more of a relaxed time.

Hey! Look who it is! Its that ghost of a guy who hardly gets on the forum anymore....... OK....I know.....grovel.....grovel...... Anyone with families AND a club to run and support have my permission to diss (sp?)
Special thanks go to DarkWing for getting this post started and of course to all of you that have replied with the kind words. I just felt it would be really wrong of me not to get on and post a few words of thanks. Of course, if you notice the time.....this is the first silent moment that I could get on and get a few things accomplished!
Again, thanks for all the kind words and I really look forward to seeing everyone that can make it down for the weekend! I would ask you all to try to help out anyone that might be financially burdened by maybe sharing rooms at the Inn so to speak, if you can of course. It really bums me out to think that even one person cant make the event due to things being to expensive. I really beat the bushes to find the best price I can for all that attend without sacrificing safety or security.
Let us at AAFO know if we can help out in any way, we will make every attempt to help out with special occasions.

What can I say that the PRES. didn't. This....The event, ROUND-UP VIII has been going on for 8 years this year. It has grown every year and it is because of only two reasons,
1) Our Fiero Friends that have come from not only all over Texas, but those that have traveled from surounding states, We say it and we mean it..."If it were not for you, this would just be another AAFO, San Antonio Meeting. You are our friends and we appreciate you.
2) AAFO members that span from San Antonio to Austin To Corpus, Seguin, Kerrville, Boerne and all points between and even Joel overthere in Co. Thank you for for just being you.

Just an up-date... we reached a high today of about 72 degrees.
The AAFO is having a "Plaque Party" on March 20, 2004. This is where the authentic, coveted, lusted after, traditional, hand made, custom, wood plaque is mass produced one at a time. This requires several well trained artist of power tools with skills dateing back to last year, when we had our first "Plaque Party."
I find it very fitting that we have our "Plaque Party" at no other place than our own resident Denist's home. Man, who knows more about plaque than him?

One of the interesting things about this event is: when you think you know all the Fiero owners in the area, there are always some who come to the Roundup that you don't know.
And there's always stuff for sale, too.
And the guide dog people bring out some of their lovable trainees.
The cruise is always great, and the food is good. See you there!
Hey, somebody bumped it while I was typing. That was my bump, buddy! Guess I'll catch the next one.

I noticed that someone "forgot" to ad flames to the car on the ad so it would look like my car !!! Maybe it was just a mistake!?!?!?!?!? oh well I hope the shirts are corrected
JUST AN UP-DATE. IT REACHED 75 DEGREES TODAY AND IT WAS WONDERFUL. IT IS TIME TO POP THE TOP, PUT ON THE SHADES AND CRUISE INTO OLD SAN ANTONIO.
THE AAFO MEMBERS ARE EXCITED ABOUT HOSTING THIS EVENT FOR THE 8TH YEAR AND LOOK FOWARD TO SEEING ALL OF OUR OLD FRIENDS, MEETING SOME NEW AND EVEN REVIN TOO.
