Best wishes and prayers for Ken and Heidi in thier time of need. Hope everything works out well for thier family. Ken, let Heidi and her mom and family know that we are all pulling for them and are in our thoughts.
Ok....
Local Hotels that still have rooms are as follows.....the first two listed should be really good to go, major names.....the Super 8 is relatively new.
Super 8 / 210-678-9514 / 2211 SW Loop 410 / $68.00 Plus Tax
Other than that folks, you can always check like Hotels.com or something, but these choices really are not bad and to be honest, Im suprised the rates are still that reasonable. Dont delay and get your reservations in now as these Hotels fill up with visting families of military recruits from Lackland AFB.

My brother and I are staying on the north end of town. It is a 30 minute drive to the mall, but my sister in law got an employee discount at a Hampton Inn for $29 a night. I love driving anyway! See you guys this weekend!

Thanks everyone for the support and kind words. Rob always says, "Its all about the people, not the cars." Rob is right! So the plan now is to move the Captain Revin Kevin Fun Boat to the next RRR... I guess that seems more appropriate anyway. Also, somebody needs to take lots of pics of the Round-Up VIII. This is important to all of us - especially those of us who can't be there in person!
Here are the folks who have pre-registered for this years event: Maybe someone you know? Well, don't let them have all the fun!
01. Robert Hughes of Houston, Texas / 87GT 02. Mike Parker of Boerne, Texas / 86SE 03. John Fussell of North Richland Hills, Texas / 88 Coupe 04. Ken and Heidi Thomas of Austin, Texas / 87GT ( God bless you both) 05. Eugene Garrison of Houston, Texas / 88GT 06. Charles Rivett of Houston, Texas / 88GT 07. Blake and Jenifer Moore of Ft. Worth, Texas / 88 Formula 08. Revin Kevin Rodgers of Pflugerville, Texas / 88GT 09. Paul Montgomery of Atascosa, Texas / 88 Formula 10. Don York of San Angelo, Texas / 1984 SE ( See you guys in San Angelo!) 11. Bobby Conley of Spring, Texas / 1985 Coupe 12. Tony Bowman of Pflugerville, Texas / 86 GT 13. Verdie Gene Goodner Sr. of Deer Park, Texas / 86 GT 14. Charles Cintron of San Antonio, Texas / 87 GT ( Thanks for the Hill Country Route) 15. Jeff Thrailkill of San Antonio, Texas / 88 Coupe 16. Jason Carpenter of San Antonio, Texas / 1987 GT 17. Mike Desbrow of San Antonio, Texas / 1987 GT 18. Scotty Hrdlicka of Atascosa, Texas / 1984 Coupe 19. Richard Lazor of San Antonio, Texas / 1988 Coupe 20. Ken McClain of Floresville, Texas / 1988 Coupe 21. Ron Titus of San Antonio, Texas / 1987 GT ( Ditto on the hill Country Route) 22. Chuck Hodges of Missouri City, Texas / 1988 GT 23. Carlos A. Martinez of Brownsville, Texas / 1988 Formula 24. Hywel and Amanda Wilson of San Antonio, Texas / 1988 Formula 25. Adolph Hernandez of San Antonio, Texas / 1986 GT 26. Scott Anderson of Corpus Christi, Texas / 1984 Coupe 27. Clinton and Dottie Whitehead of Houston, Texas / 1988 GT 28. Daniel Campbell of Harlingen, Texas / 1987 GT 29. Chris Plaster of San Antonio, Texas / 1986 SE 30. Refugio Guzman of San Antonio, Texas / 1985 SE 31. Jonathan Miller of Pearland, Texas / 1988 GT
It's downhill from here! I wish those who can't make it for personal reasons the best. Both Chuck Hodges and I lost our Mothers just before RRR last year. The News came to ROUND-UP VII on Sunday straight from a funeral. Sherill New's parents remain ill and now Ken and Heidi will miss ROUND-UP VIII. If you pray say one for these guys, they will appreciate it and we all need it.
As for the rest of us.... we have to make up for those that cant make and take lots of pictures and flood them with them. One of the greatest things for me was Ken & Heidi made me a gift of pictures from RRR. It was the next best thing to being there. Bring your radios and bring someone with you. Bring your wife, bring your girldfriend, just don't bring them both, your Fiero only has two seats, that goes for the ladies as well!

KINKY MIKE !!! I LIKE IT !!! I knew you liked seeing that sort of thing !! HAHAHAHAHHA Yeah ladies bring your girlfriends!!!
I hope so, he is military and has requested the weekend off. I told Amanda the same thing just a few days ago. Once you have seen one Silver Dancer for the Spurs, you have seen them all! Just little silver cookie-cutter girls, Now to get to see Hywell, that is a treat. If you have not meet him, he is a great guy, so much nicer than Amanda. Just kidding they are a great couple and they are special to both me and my wife. We have kids older than them! I fact, I think I have socks older that them!
Hey, he was at the Oklahoma,(his home state), Red River Ruckus. His Maroon Formala was between DARKWING and REDEYE'S RIDE... he was setting on the beer until 12:01, then we drank it.
Are you going to be at the welcome get together Friday night about 9:00 pm? If so will see you there. It's allways great to see and talk with old friends. Besides I need someone who can help keep Revin in line, and I know between you and I we can handle him.

I hope it's OK but, I'm coming without a Fiero (Just couldn't get it ready in time). I want to buy a few shirts and see everyone's cars. Is there a place for a chaser car ( I'm gonna try to bring a Pontiac) on the cruise? My sons and I really look forward to being there.

I suspect if you are planning on the Friday nite get-together at Denny's, you may be all alone since most others will be at the Tex-Mex restaurant on the opposite side of the hotel by 9:00 p.m. We'll all be having pitchers of margaritas and chips at the outdoor tables.
Wow, so many questions. HYWEL will be there. They may have to leave early if the Spurs start the play offs on Saturday PM. There will be a get together at the DENNY's as well about 9:00 PM.
I am sure the Tex-Mex group will be going later than that! It is all close to The Red Roof Inn, just look for the Fieros.
You come no matter what, if your car isn't ready you will still have a great time and the kids too. Lots of us are parents and even some of us , like me, grandparents. We realy like to show the cars to the kids, hey, they are the next generation of Fiero owners!
SEE Y'ALL FRIDAY and /or SATURDAY!

On the question of the chase car, no worries at all. We always have several chase cars following the Fieros with families and all that dont want to miss the dinner and evening festivities.
On the Friday night get together at Dennys, this is for all the folks that make it from out of Town in order to welcome them in and hand out T-Shirts and take additional registrations. It never really lasts any later than 930 or 10pm, so if you want to join John at Taco Cabana afterwards, I'm sure there will still be plenty of Margaritas available. The main reason for the Friday Evening grouping is so that those that have not been to SA recently can have thier questions answered and basically get a warm fuzzy that they are where they need to be in town and are not left out in the cold in a strange enviroment.
Revin, all the spots are good spots! Whatcha talkin bout man? Just make sure you have the oven fired up for those cookies man.....and no munchin on the way down, or at the very least, leave some for the rest of us.....
Weather for the weekend is highs in the lower 80s and lows in the low to mid 60s with Mostly Cloudy Skies...... In other words......
PERFECT!
See you all this weekend!

Well, my car isn't 100% ready, I only planned on it being 90% and hopefully I'll get to that point. I will have my son with me, and he likes Fieros, although his present desire is for a Mercedes

It's just not the same without you Joel, but we will try to have fun.
Also, I have to park next to Kevin so we can see who's car looks better! I am soooo glad my car is not multi-colored anymore. I just wish it was a flawless $3000 California paintjob. Oh well, maybe when I am older and more financially stable? Who knows.

John, neither is mine... I will also have my 14 year old son with me, along with Will-Martin, and Stuart Lowery. We are going to try and leave Cleburne around 5 pm Friday night(hopefully earlier). We are hopeing to get into SA around 9 pm. Hopefully we will see you there, but I don't think any of our group knows exactly where we are going yet. Will is still trying to get us reservations somewhere.
After all the planning on my part and the anticipatioin of the good times, I will not be able to attend due to family sickness that has arisen here at the last moment. I will be out town from here but not in S.A.
I am very, very sorry I cannot be there.
My car has all new brakes (including front rotors), a completely new and converted a/c system, new and larger wheels and tires and I was ready to GO!
Robert/Mike, please consider my entry fee a donation this year. I know you have probably already had the t-shirts printed up. If so, give mine to the first kid that arrives with his father.
Have a good time for me and Ron Titus, have one for me, o.k.?
I'll see a lot of you in San Angelo, I hope.

As for everyone else I hope to see you there!!! this is my first year doing this and im overly estatic. I detaled my car just for this and now im just gaurding it from the birds. if anyone else needs and i mean really needs a hotell room let me know.
