I just filled out the entry and it will be in the mail this afternoon. The only bad thing is that my wife said she won't go because she doesn't want to be seen in a spotted primer car! (I've redone the mechanicals and the interior is completed, but I don't think I can finish the bodywork and paint before the outing.) I'm really coming for the drive through the hills and to see the other cars and people anyway. See yall!! Egor.

Its a cryin shame that your wife said she wont be able to make it. Reason being is that including today, we have had several inches of rain. March is typically our wetter month of the year. This translates into some of the best floral scenery that can be found! This has been a major benifit to the cruise portion of the event, I have yet to hear anyone complain about the sights that can be found in Central Texas at the height of our floral blooming season. This is what has made our cruise the success that it is, winding roads for the guy, and great floral sights for the better halves...... Your wife should reconsider...... She WONT be disappointed!

There is nothing finer than the smell of primer. It is like Spring, you just know something is about to bloom!
The ROUND-UP VIII is not just about the cars, its about the people, its about the magic attraction to this little weird car, it's Woodstock on wheels....only without so much music and more cloths.
Your Fieros are in no different condition than where each of us have been and/or will be. Don't let the lack of a little paint, make you feel faint, come anyway and we will make sure you get a plank.
As for the Mrs., mine is not a car person, one ROUND-UP Hill Country cruise and she been here with me everyone since, except one where she had to work.

gezzzzz Rob what a shameless plug that was !!!
Just tell them that the famous REVIN will be there
P.S. I came two years with primer panels ! I even won a plaque in the RRR with the primer She WONT be disappointed!
We lost our major sponsor this year, one of the local Pontiac Dealerships had a major Management change and the new GM said they will not support our show this year, so I needed to come up with some additional revenue. Do you think there would be interest from the list for just buying T Shirts?...and if so.....would we continue this thread with the opportunity or would a new thread more exclusive about the Shirts be in line? Years past I had always let the folks who wanted extra shirts come to me and ask. This year I think I need to get out there and beat the bushes and sell some.
Give me your feedback guys!

Thanks for your responses, but everyone seems to be missing the point. I really dont want MORE money from anyone, (things in life are already expensive enough!) just everyones ideas as to whether it is in good taste or not to solicite RU 8 T Shirts on PFF. With the extra revenue generated from the shirts, this should help offset the loss of sponsor income. This is what this years design looks like
Well, don't know what the T-shirt market would be from other regions. For instance, personally, I'd feel like a 'wannabe' if I were to buy and wear a Dells t-shirt, since there's little chance I'll ever make it up there. How bout a donation box at the show & shine? Yeah, it's tough all over, but we all understand how sudden unforseen events pop up like the loss of a sponsor. The current registration fee is a bargain for the value recieved-I'm betting the participants will be more than willing to help out a little financially. OTOH, Jane won't be coming to SA with me, but told me today she wants a tee shirt, so, in addition to the xtra lg I requested on the reg form, will you please put a large to one side for me, and I'll pay for it when I get there? I've already mailed my registration form and fee.

I personally think we have some of the best looking shirts around and alot of thought and time goes into the design of each years shirt.
Each shirt would run $15.00 and that would include shipping to members of PFF.
Whadda ya think guys?
"i" think that with all the time spent in advertising, waiting for money, packaging, mailing, ect, ect. its not worth it nor is it justifiable in the time you already dont have. no doubt, the shirts are cool! but how many in what time period would you need to sell to make up the loss of a sponser? i would like to offer a $300.00 dollar donation to the event , please pm me with a paypal account name. tony

Car Dealer...Thanks for the offer! We meet tomorrow to mass produce the plaques one-at-a-time. I will talk to Robert White, the Prez. Someone will get back to you.
This is the reason I keep saying the same old thing...it isn't just about the cars, it is about the people. The friends we have and the ones we have to come. If you are anywhere that there is a way you can come to San Antonio, Texas for the ROUND-UP VIII, you should. If not for the sake of the car, for the sake of your mind. You will meet a group of nice people that will make you feel like a long lost friend. Not to mention FREE COOKIES!!!

My experience with selling club & event merchandise has been disappointing. But then again, consider my lack of business savvy. I can only advise you according to my experience, and so far it tells me that you won't make much at all from offering RU8 shirts on PFF.

Thanks so much for everyones ideas and offers, especially yours Cardealer. Some may think me nuts, but I must decline your most generous offer, but before everyone thinks I have lost my mind, I would sincerly like to talk to you one on one on a more reasonable offer. I have sponsorship packages and also give back to the sponsor that I would feel MUCH better in recieving from you or anyone esle for that matter. Feel free to email, private mail me or even call to discuss the details. 210-415-8737. Speaking of PMs, Cardealer, you should have recieved one from me a couple of days ago regarding your intial post. Again, and this can be verified from any number of past participants, this show is not a "Money Making" event so to speak. Yes the club does benifit somewhat from the event, but the real benifit goes to the Charity and more so, to the folks who come out and attend. Everything we do at this event is non-competitive, friendly and based on everyone having FUN. Maybe it is wrong to actually call this a "Show". Its more of a get together, for relaxment and general mingling, with a bunch of fun stuff added in on the side. Once again, thanks so much for all your support......EVERYONE!

Speaking of rounds, does Revin know what awaits him at the RU? Yesterday, the AAFO bunch from SA, along with Ken and Heidi from Austin, had the famous Plaque Party II(at the home of a DENTIST, for crying out loud!!) to make the famous professionally handmade one of a kind plaques to commemorate RU VIII. A plot has been hatched, so everyone needs to be at the roundup to see what awaits Revin!! All that attended the Red River Ruckus should be in attendence for a "trip down memory lane". Speaking of RRR, if the SA-Austin Fierophiles can drive 500 miles up to scenic Jefferson, Texas(Halfway to New York!!), every Fiero owner in the state of Texas and all that adjoin her should be able to be in SA for a great weekend of cartalk and comradery. Lifelong friendships have been formed and even a little knowledge about our automotive passions have been spread around. Hey, you don't even have to bring a FIERO to attend!!! None of my three orphans is running currently but I plan to be there for the fun and games. It's not about the rides, but the people who are behind the wheel. There are some great people who love these little cars and it's simply great to be able to spend time together with them. So, stop worrying about primer and polish and jump in whatever you have to get here in, and just GET HERE!! You won't be sorry.
Awww Doc-Don't encourage the lad. I dunno if I'll be able to stand seeing Revin with the size of his head nowdays. Maybe I'll just leave my duke at home to await the arrival of it's twin, since I know Rev is gonna rag on me anywhoo. See yall there!!

Just a little update the weather has been in the upper 70s and we had a 82 the other day. In other words the weather looks like it will be great. Shorts and Ts. Great weather to drive Down, Up, East or West to old San Antonio for the ROUND-UP VIII. Head um up, Move them out, Get along little doggie. Don't forget the sun burn lotion and the two way radios.
The one thing I just don't understand is this "LOVE BOAT" thing - rumor - urbal legend - whatever that's going around associated to Revin-Kevin and ROUND-UP VIII. Just because the boy is all wet behind the ears and has become big headed of late, so I hear. My offer still stands Revin, be NICE and I will LET YOU name your car DARKWING II. Or whaterver floats your BOAT. Here we go again , the boat thing.
Ok Everyone, Be sure to bring your lawn chairs, beanbag chairs or what ever makes you comfortable. The Captain Kevin cruise boat is going to be a BYOC boat (Bring Your Own Chair). Also, don't forget you sunscreen and umbrella. This will probably be a "Top Down" boat ride. Be ready to make some waves and laugh your *** off!!
Hey, now I remember why I don't play the Texas Lottery....I have this image of Revin-Kevin as a BONUS. And all the time I had him pegged as BOGUS!
Nothing but love for the skinny - knock-kneed - boy from Pflugerville.
Sounds like a something out of a kids book... all the little blue Pflugers, who stood in a row, only had one big toe. So when all the little blue Pflugers were feeling low, they went for a ride in Revin's Fier-o. Around and around in a circle they would go, never more than 25 miles, or they would need another TOW!
Give me a break!

I know you guys haven't heard from me in a while. I will be there. I may be the only Fiero coming up from deep south TX. Unfortunately. But after I am done with it this weekend, none of you will recognize my car! I hope I turn a few heads on the way up there. I'll be sending my registration in soon. Anyway, see yall then.
Not sure yet, but I may be going to Va to pick up the 84 I bought from GTDude, instead of RU8. https://www.fiero.nl/forum/Forum4/HTML/019186.html Still working on getting it hauled to West Texas, or at least closer, maybe to Toney Alabama, and drive it on west from there.

It is such a honor for us at the AAFO to host ROUND-UP VIII. We look foward to seeing all of our old friends and Revin. We hope there will be some new folks come and see just what a great group of people gather for this event.
You will meet great people from all walks of life and all ages. We have the mature like myself to the other end like Revin and all between. Trust me when I tell you that you can not come and leave without making some new friends and seeing some neat cars.

Do you want a sneak preview of the coveted, lusted for, rare, priceless, mass produced one-at-a- time, limited genuine WOOD plaques that everyone wants, but can't be bought. Go to the following web site and click on pictures, it's free. See PLAQUE PARTY. Not only will you get a sneak preview of the Plaques but you will see visual proof that I do know how to operate a jig saw and a sandpaper block, despite the rumors.
While you are there you might as well sign up for ROUND-UP VIII.
Don't forget your life preservers for the Captain Kevin Fun Boat! Don't worry Revin, we already have your Captain's uniform. We still need some ideas on how to christen the boat. Any ideas?
If I can't wear shorts OR drive a boat.....Why should I even show up????
Where have you been Revin? Remember the bayou? Well, we do, and we are building a boat for you to drive around the Show and Shine. It's a slow boat, just like the bayou boat, but it has everything you will need: steering wheel, microphone, horn, bell and swashbuckling passengers. The bayou thing was just too much fun, so you are the designated captain. But don't worry, your car will be safe with us!!
