well the ol msd modual(that i installed new a day ago) decided to burn up and leave me stranded 15 miles from home, im now considering an A6, ive already sent back the old unit and am getting a new 1 in return, but il be pissed and switching to an A6 if it blows again, well looks like i wont be getting to the track this comming week, itl take a week or so to get my replacement unit back.
next job will be porting my exaust manifolds
Me and my buddy Dave Gunsul where hanging out today, and we where talking about this thread, and I swear to god that Dave said you would pop your ignition modual, and sure enough I look on the net. your plugs are gapped WAY too big. Daves old GT fryed an ignition modual when he was gapping his plugs at 50, but as soon as he re-gapped them to 45, all the problems where gone. Even with the MSD 6A, you are still going to have problems with your plugs gaped that far apart.
ive never heard of a gap killing a modual?? any more input there only at 55
I told ya I didn't recommend deviating from the stock gap more than .03 didn't I?
it takes a much higher charge to jump a gap that is 25% bigger than stock.. heats and stresses the ignition system - and from my experience (whatever thats worth) the aftermarket modules and coils that just replace stock components aren't as durable as the regular AC Delco
try dropping your gap back to stock when you get your new module and I doubt you will feel a difference

The one thing I don't understand is that he tested the 6' exhaust separately before he ported the manifolds. He doesn't say if he tested the ported manifolds with the stock exhaust or the 6' exhaust. So, the question is whether the ported manifolds can be enhanced with the high flow exhaust, and if so by what factor. (I assume they can)
In my case I have ported heads, 1.6 rockers, ported manifolds and high flow exhaust. The calculation of potential gains is a bit beyond my ability. Bear in mind that my intake is flowing at 350 cfm instead of 318 cfm(stock) I am assuming a 35 hp to 40 hp gain in my application, but again, I really don't know. I should invest in Desktop Dyno.

Don't let the door hit your a$$. You could've learned a lot from the people on this forum, but you chose to be a self-righteous blowhard. Have fun getting walked on by stock Civics when your do-nothing bolt ons fail to make any more power out of your 18 year old motor.

I assume we just let him think he did. First off, he's too stupid to know any better, and second, he'll leave quicker....which I highly doubt.

Sad thing is any piece of SH!T can own a fiero. Its a real shame. Someone needs to go over there and repo his fiero owner rights. His ideas about HP sound just like a RICER. So hopefully he will go that route.

yeah, I thought it was funny "forum-la 88" but why should we think he can spell? I mean, look at what he has said so far.
Okay, I just read this whole thread from front to back. To be honest, i was looking for 88 Formula's timeslip. Am I mistaken in thinking he never posted one?

This guy wouldn't know good advice if it bite him in the a$$. I have a feeling once Cliff sees the couple of threads this guy has started, he will do the right thing. It seems to me he just came here to troll and shoot down everyones advice. Maybe he is a previously banned member that came to play for a bit. This guy is a real Richard Head.
hehe, no former member, for the record i did mis spell my name, it was a goof up that was to small to worry about fixing, and yeah i might get banned, i came here with a open mind and a smile, you guys just didnt give me a chance, but im still going to post my time slip what ever it may be?? i may have a vid but i dont know about that one....im still fighting work for a day off to go to the track. il keep u posted..unless im banned then.well il get the time slip on here somehow. if im wrong then i want to help others learn to not make my mistakes and if im right then il just consider myself accepted back at PFF.

Some people on the forum are just waiting to start a fight, I suggest ignoring them 88 formula. All you did was post what you thought you'd get for an E.T. and they start throwing the insults around. I don't think you will get that time either but you are entitled to your opinion, the 3.0l in your van (other than the early ones with seal problems) is a much better engine and has alot more potential then the 2.8l in the fiero.
I am intrested in what you've done to the caravan? My Dad has an '88 with a '98 3.0l and the better of the two intakes (I can't remember the exact combination), everything else is stock including exhaust. The best time we could get was 18.6 with all the seats removed, so if you have any links to what you've done too it let me know.
Thanks

yes ive been a bit out of hand also but id agree that they somewhat started it., i sent you a personal message about the van, id like to share what i did on the message board but that would give em another reason to hate me., and see guys thoes vans arent fast stock! HA!

hey, how about you just let it die untill you get around ot posting some timeslips and video - it takes a few months for something to get archived - just add it to your favorites so you don't lose track of it
update: got the MSD 6A installed today, car runs great! feels like i gained a bit of HP too, the main thing im hopein for is mpg, today was raceday but the 6a took to long to hook up, so next tuesday i should be able to run it., i cant promise a vid, but at the least il have pics, ul be able to see the fiero taillights at the end of the track/time lit up on screen if the time slip isnt good enough for you. since my name is well well known on here il just make a new thred posting my time later on.
