I saw it on ebay and loved it. I would ABSOLUTELY buy one of those if made at a decent price.
keeping the supplies used and the labor, prep for paint all that stuff in mind... (i gotta make atleast a little profit on these things... Possibly Aus or one of those guys that know the buisness should shoot me some tips here) but with all seriousness and both side of the sale considered, what price would be reasonable to everyone (no flame wars, please)
LMK your opinion... ~Tim Bonner

the only thing i would be worried about is, if the car ever sees rain, water would be going straight on top of the engine, just somehting to think about...

I hope this does not step on any toes but I have talked to the guy who designed the vent and he is willing to make them at a very good a reasonable price. I will try to contact him again and turn him onto this thread. I have just recieved an email and willl relay the group interest in his product. I just think you may want to talk to the original designer first and find out if he would like to sell them himself before someone begins to make them and sell them. I hope you guys will be patient on his reponse as it sometimes takes him a bit of time. I will try to keep you posted if i hear anything first!

This scoop was on Ebay in Germany two weeks ago. It's an insert that has to be glassed into the decklid. If you're interested I can try to locate the vendor... PM me.

Well. I feel that if Tim wants to make something simular to these then he does'nt need to wait on anyone,, For what his permission..?? I dont think so.. I also am fixing to release 2 different styles of MATCHING decklid and hood vents.. Stay Tuned for products being releasedby Tim and also watchout for "EuroSmooth Custom Fiberglass Products" <--- Me!!
This si America.. If you dont want something copied... get a patent or copyrights to the products you are making...

I've had about 10 diffrent emails with ther guy, I have prices, an Im talking to him about the same things you are speaking of...
But I thiunk your wasting your time asking the man more questions that have already been asked... Im letting him know there are very few of us interested...
Thank you for your efforts but unless you are one of them people that dont have much to do, so you email everyone and their brother just for kicks (possiobly tring to stir up more trouble, i dont know) but these efforts you might find useless...
I plan on telling everyoneone what i know about his product, and hopefully get permision to reproduce these in the US giving him some kind of profit on each 1... (probally half or more...) I've got thinds under control... Thanx...
I just recieved an email saying that a few people here are talking about reproducing my rear fiero deck lid and front bonnet scoop. That's good I'm glad that everyone here likes my idea. Also someone mentioned about my rear tail-lights? They have been in discussion on this forum and another now for about 1 year and so far as I know of, they havn't been reproduced by anyone, but for those that are interested I can tell you that I made them by covering stock fiero tail-lights with a very fine soft aluminium mesh (the mesh was custom made here in Taiwan) and the fiero rear lights have been cut out and replaced with after-market Honda Accord tail-lights which gives the apperance of a Ferrari 355 challenge grill. Here is an old link to an ebay auction that has already ended, that shows the after-market tail-lights used. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7938072935
For anyone that is interested in purchasing my Fiero rear engine decklid with vents, Fiero side scoops or F-50 style bonnet, I have been selling these on ebay now for about 3 months and have provided a link below. For those that are interested in making the rear tailights look like a Ferrari 355 challenge and are unable to find a suitable mesh, I can also provide that on request, which you can contact me via this email address: gdjetski@pchome.com.tw The link to my auctions on ebay, advertising the rear deck lid etc; http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=7945780258&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMESE%3AIT
I know 84's are the red headed stepchild of the Fiero world, but something like that would do wonders for the appearance of that yr decklid. That rattling piece of crap that's back there now is just annoying as heck and a bear to keep cleaned up.
BTW. we had record amts of rain this last fall, and all that water did go right down onto my exh and sparkplugs just as mentioned above. Had no ill effects that I could tell, and I have the baffle removed on one of our daily driven 84s. Of course, mine is a 4 cyl, so it might be bad for a v-6 or v8.
A little off topic, but I would like to see a vent system back there that is the same all the way accross. ie, the same louvers on the decklid as on the side vents. I've replaced the solid covers on mine with vents from an 85. Works ok, but just doesn't look symmetrical IMO.
Ok, this rear decklid vent is placed upon the original stock fiero decklid, so you can use this decklid vents just for look and not cut any holes in the original decklid, or you can cut holes in the original decklid to allow ventilation into or from the engine bay area. If you are worried about rain/water getting wiring or sparkplugs etc wet, then all you need to do is cut the holes above areas of the engine where you feel no damage would occur if it got wet. It is very hard to tell if there have been holes cut into the original decklid or not once it is finished, as the aluminuim mesh covering the vent part is usually painted to black, so functional or superficial the choice is yours. You've been staying in Taichong? Interesting, I'm living in Taipei, about 2 hours north of Taichong.
No, I haven't been to Taiwan in 20 years, but our company has a facilty in Tai Chong City-as we refer to it. We recieve large Roll-on/roll-off container trailers of finished goods from there almost weekly.
88GTFormula, this is what I don't like about mine. It is open all the way accross, but the lines aren't pleasing. The louvers run one way on the side vents and the opposite way on the center vent. If the same mod was made to the side vents in the above picture, as was made in the center, I think it would look better-a more pleasing, continuous and flowing set of lines. Of course, the carbon fibre vents do really look nice too.

Hey 88gt and smooth I am not trying to stir up any trouble, I was just trying to be respectful and help out since I have been in contact with the designer. well i am glad to see that he responded and hope that everthing works out well!
combine that with a mod I have been thinking about and it's look really nice. My idea was to cut the windshield edge of the hood off about 8 inches and do a 3 large louver cowl piece below the windshield. Kinds trick the eyes and smooth the transition so the windshield angle isn't so extreem.

just the decklid extractor vents.. the mustang scoop goes for about 60-100.. i'd think 100$ would be a fair price..
