Everyone at my school loves his car, and encourages him to keep on going even if there are idiots like u out thier.

you know, before i even finished the first sentence, i knew, without a doubt, this was posted by a kid.

so why do you care, well you probably don't, but my point and reason for posting is this; you may not like what people say, but coming on and jumping down there throats and getting all offended is the least mature thing you can do. Sure you can disagree, not a problem, but hurling insults isn't going to get you were you want.

Steve & Jordan, all things being considered, the car is cool, if nothing else for the fact that you got that bonding time together, i wish my father and i could do stuff together on my fiero, and his, but we are so similar it usually ends with a fight, or it takes FOREVER to get anything done. Now, that's my nice thing to say for the day, so don't get all crappy with me when i say: It's not the cars styling that i'm turned off by (although, i have to admit, it's about as far away from my choices as i'd ever make, although, i dig the wheels and the color) it's the fact that you copied everything on it you did from something else, that's what i hate about it. anyone who has ever seen F & F could tell where the ideas came from, and that's the problem, IMO anyways.

exercise a little creativity with anything you do to it in the future, and i'll be there to compliment.

the "kid" is Jordan's sister and she loves him very much and is very proud of him, it makes her very up set to see people posting rude and cruel things about him and his car. Family stick together!

A very proud mom

Steve's son is caught up in this ricing (tuning, F&F, whatever) fad and will probably either get sick of the car when he grows older or he'll continue on and probably go and get a Eclipse or Celica or something like that and mod the outside. Ricers have the absolute worst attitudes and driving styles on the road today. I know if a shitty Honda Accord costs like $2000 you can afford to drive in traffic like you're out of your mind (on the highway around here I've seen people in these ricers weaving between sub-rushhour traffic coming within INCHES of other cars on the road). They also believe for the most part that American cars are **** (including the Fiero, why the hell do you think I want to mod the engine?) and that Japanese cars can own American cars any day. When they pull up to a stoplight next to a Camaro (sometimes mine? maybe)or a Trans Am or even Mustang GT, they can usually get "skooled" but usually blame it on something else. I know the Camaro doesn't get even half the looks of the Fiero when I drive them, but it can beat the Fiero all day in speed. The Fiero beats in it handling, but around here there's too many slow people in mini-vans and pickup trucks to enjoy the curves, while there's many straight-aways on 2 lane highway around here to play around. However, like I said before I do respect what Steve is doing with his son, it is a great thing for them to bond so well in a time period where TV and video games tend to raise kids rather than the parents. But does he have to show off every little thing that happens in his life with that car? Oh look I took a massive dump, here's a picture on the forums for all to see! Toilet seat signing is next week, please come! You say to use the "back" button? This is where real life and the internet differ. IRL if some idiot is say, posting up like hundreds of photos of their kids around their cubicle at the office in plain view of everyone, do I tell him to take them down because its annoying, or do I keep walking past every day getting pissed off every day because he thinks he is so important when he obviously isn't? This is public forum people, Steve if you want to document every little **** you take in life on the internet for some sort of self-satisfaction, go start your own website so no one can go to it.

I got a Fiero that would molest your Camaro

I love how some people like to complain that they see and hear about the F&F Fiero too much and yet they then post a comment like this. cooguyfish, I guess in all those many posts you must have missed the fact that was pointed out many many times that the theme of Jordans car was the F&F??
cooguyfish, you have been right there in just about every thread recently just jumping in with the bashing and insulting with Punisher and margaritaz among a few others even right after someone else posts asking that those being jerks and insulting to please stop. Yeah, I also like how you threw in a little nice comment in the middle of this beaut just in case. I can't wait to see what side of the meter your needle is gonna be on when it finally shows up. Bet I can guess and get it right the first time too
Geeze, get a clue allready.

BTW: Jordans PFF id is "Fast&Furious Jordan" and his display sign that goes with his Fiero to shows says and I quote:
The one and only Fast & Furious Fiero

So yeah, it's gonna probably look a lot like cars from the movie

um, did i miss the part where i was insulting. you can think what you like of me, that's cool, but i did not once bash the car, just said that what i thought, what i liked and didn't.

So, you post something, i come in, make a reasonable statement in my opinion that a lot of other people have made similar ones to, and again, you come around with the insults about how i'm dumb and not paying attention and how everyone must hate me... sure everyone hates me, you're right, i know everyone on this forum does not like me.

i try and be a nice guy here and give my honest opinion, and you have to act 5 years old and cry and hurl insults, this is why i have a problem with you, and started arguing with you in the other thread. If someone doesn't agree with you, they are a terrible person, outright. that's just all there is to it huh?

grow up man, you're what 35? 40? act like it and quit being so "o, everyone hate's you" about everyone that disagree's with you. and to make you happy, i won't post in this thread again.

LVMY88, contrary to what Steve thinks, i do have a brain, that i use from time to time. i knew that Tarrah is Jordan's sister. but my post was to point out that arguing and yelling and hurling insults doesn't make your points very well, and infact makes you look very immature (being that she is 15 it's acceptable, but i like to act mature here, and thought i'd point it out).

BUT I CAN'T IMAGINE WHERE SHE LEARNED HURLING INSULTS WAS THE SOLUTION FROM *cough* STEVE *cough* <---(joke) still makes people look immature though. next thing you know steve will be telling me "yeah, well my dad can beat up your dad."

Anyone think that is somewhat ironic and humurous that when The Punisher posts something, that may or may not incite a flame war, the forum police jump right in and chastise him for doing it. Yet, when Steve "I paint my cars behind the barn" Kelley knows damn right well every single post about the amazing slow and girlious Fiero is guaranteed to start a flame war, not a peep from the forum police? Come on California kid, you are losing your edge buddy...

Correct me if I'm wrong here, (and we know there are some on here that try ) but weren't you just the other day in another thread whining that you never say anything insulting that deserves you to have so much red??

Oh, and this was so nice too:

Oh, comon people, let it be, what steve and his wonderful family are saying is..

To respect everyone elses oppinions/decisions, unlless the said oppinions/decisions happen to be in contridiction of theirs, in which case it is fair to disregard the first statement and look like a bunch of inbred toolebags.

I do not like the car personally, but, Steve, fly at [b]your]/b] car with all your heart. but dont try to stop me when i say i dont like it. no one likes a double standard. feel free to trash my car, you wont see me getting all worked up over it and getting my entire family to run to my defence when i have run out of smart things to say. face it steve, oppinions differ, and if you cant deal with the little fact.. then, maybe the internet isnt for you.

anyhoo, congrats on getting in a mag, i remember how excited i was when my lego was in the lego newsletter.. course.. that was.. over 12 years ago..

Well said!

We all have different opinions and perspectives. But let's try to live by two simple rules:

1. If you wanna post your opinion about something, you damn well better be willing to listen to someone else's with the same open-mindedness and tact as you would like.
2. Try to have some tact. Certain threads ask for our opinions, in which positive and negative comments are welcome. But WTF is going on here? The kid is 11! We were not asked for opinions. We were simply asked for a little recognition where recognition was well-earned. This thread is not the appropriate place for negative feedback.

I feel like I'm on a soapbox in front of a kindergarten class. I don't know if they were teaching manners when the rest of you were in school, but they sure did while I was there (and so did my parents), so in case not, now I've taught you something, and I don't think it should be a problem to remember. Right?

I'm pretty sure that if a certain few PFF members were in positions of power in the world, the whole place would be covered with nukes. If you can't get along here, you sure as hell don't belong in the "real world."

I didn't exactly take Mizers comment the way you did Tim. I certainly could have read it the wrong way I guess. At any rate..
What we are saying (and thanks to those for speaking for us and getting it wrong) is that if you must, you can say you don't like it, fine. Just please folow the posted rules and common sense and don't say it in a rude and insulting way:

Sorry.

Edit

Lol, ok, I have thoroughly confused myself, but I think I'm getting it sorted out. I didn't read MiZeR's whole post... and what I did read, I read wrong.

Anyway, except for "well said," I meant the rest of my post.

I'm such a goof when I pull enough all-nighters in a row. =P

Steve, Jordan, Tarrah, and Marian (and anyone else I left out, lol)
Congratulations! I plan on emulating Steve if I can, and getting my daughter (when she's old enough) to work with me on her ride. Proven fact: every minute you spend bonding with your kid in a constructive activity, is ten less minutes you will ever spend worrying about them. And I'd rather tangle with a pack of wildcats than get on the fighting side of this family, the way you guys stick together. Great job, and I hope Jordan gets to sign all two hundred copies, and has lots of 11 year old groupies, lol.

Well here goes trying to be "mature" and on topic. Good job getting in the mag Steve (and Jordan). But how is it so important that he has a booksigning? Try introducing Jordan and his car to the "real world" where his car gets criticized to his face. You put your car and yourself into a public forum, don't expect everyone to be all "nice" and give props to the car. Criticism is allowed on this forum as I remember it, and if you or anyone else puts their car up, it is going to get both postives and negatives. Criticism is especially a potential on this forum since most people here do not like "tuner" modifications to the exterior.

Mr. Pat sure I'll take you on Buford Hwy, although I'm pretty sure I would lose . Let's see, 275 HP 325 torque LTI powered 2900 lb or so Fiero (not to mention mid-engine for traction) against a 305 HP 320 lb ft torque 3500 lb or so Camaro Z28. I'd stick a LS1 or LS6 in my Fiero and race you, but I don't have enough money, equipment, or connections to get the deal done. Only have a garage and tools enough to do basic engine work, not to lift the engine out of the Fiero or weld/cut anything. Archie is 600 mi. away, and I truthfully have no idea where to get a LS1 or LS6 for cheap. Plus the car is so original a V8 might decrease the value. But sure I'll take your Fiero with the Camaro .

You know, what surprises me about threads like these, is that most of you get excited like a little girl when a Fiero is spotted for 0.00578 seconds in some obscure movie, but when somebody gets his Fiero in a magazine, you whine about how incredibly UNimportant that is.

What surprises me even more is that a bunch of people, who probably don't have kids of their own (and if you do - omg), who are obviously struggling with adolescence themselves, who are far from being a role-model for anyone, who idolize fictional movie-characters, who think the looks of a car is more important than the bonding between a father and his son (which tells you something about the childhood these people must have had) - that those people are telling others what's best for an 11-year old kid. Yeah right. So they can grow up and be like you?

This thread is now Trash-Can material. Which is a shame.

Very well said!

anyways... congrats Jordan and Steve for getting the car in the mag....

You have a far way to go, before you even approach mature status. You're entitled to your opinion, but your remarks in this thread were not warranted, and didn't belong here.

The "Green Machine" isn't to my tastes either, but to each his own, on what they can do with their cars on their budget, and fulfill their objective. Steve has done a remarkable job, on a budget of very hard earned dollars to fulfill the dreams of his children, which is very commendable, and it isn't that easy to get your car published in a Magazine, take my word for it.

Anyways, congrats to you & Jordan for getting a few pics in a mag. That's pretty cool for him, as I'm sure he's beaming with joy.. I will say that I think any sort of book/mag signing though is WAY overkill for something such as this, but to each his (or her!) own ...

Congratulations to Steve, Jordan, Tarrah, and Marian !
The magazine coverage has got to be a great thrill, I'm so happy for all of you.

I'm sorry that the thread got trashed on you, your fine accomplishment did not deserve this fate but unfortunately we do indead have some inconsiderate types here on the forum. Perhaps we will be rid of them soon, in the mean time, congratulations on the accomplishment.

He's now 28.
To be honest, I never did anything but rag on that poor kid for wasting his money on those "plastic pigs".
And I never let up. I lent a hand once in awhile, but for the most part, he has done all the work on them himself.
In 2001, he bought me an 85 Coupe. And of course, I was hooked.
Now, he lives a distance from me. I have come to really enjoy the Fiero, but.....unfortunately...I can't enjoy them with him the way I wish I could. And I think back on the way I was towards his Fieros and it actually shames me. To be honest, I couldn't ask for a better son and am extremely proud of him. I just wish that I would have spent the time that he was home helping instead of ridiculing his hobby.
I don't give two hoots in hell if your car is pink with orange dots.
You are spending time with your son, which he will never forget, and you will never regret.
He likes the car...I don't care if he did the work, or you did the work...He likes the car.
Enjoy .............

I do live in my parent's house (will be moving to college dorm next year, this year Kennesaw State's freshman dorms weren't finished). Both the Fiero and the Camaro are titled in my name, and I paid the Fiero completely with my own money. The Camaro is on payments per month ($279 a month) and I'm also paying that with all my own money. I work to pay off the car payments and to pay for insurance on both cars (the Fiero is actually higher, ). I'm a lot more mature than most kids my age, in my time I have lost two grandparents and my mother. Also most kids my age get their car from their parents, and have help in paying off their car insurance.

Sorry to see the flamers trash your thread again Steve and congratulations on getting some print.

Since this is here in Trash Can already, I'll address the buttheads that keep slamming the green machine.

Warning- Rant Begin

To those that say Jordan needs to take it out in the real world... what the hell do you think going to shows, sending in pictures to magazines etc is?

So flipping what if you don't like it... I didn't like it when it started out. I think way back then I made a couple of hopefully constructive comments on it. I've been impressed with how much it's transformed into what they were after. It's different, it's in tune with a modern trend, it's THEIR CHOICE.

This is a FIERO FORUM... as others including Steve has stated, we post our cars, our progress, our ideas. WHY are you bashing an 11 year old kid's ideas when him and his dad carry out those ideas and then show them off. THAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THE FORUM.

Punisher (both of you flaming idiots)... grow up, get a life, maybe some therapy. Just cause it's the internet doesn't mean your comments don't hurt, just cause it's the internet doesn't mean we don't realise your just being a prick.

I see your actions as one of the root problems with society today... attack someone, gang up on them... then blame them for the attack. Are your actions pre-emptive defensive strikes? You bash and bash and bash at Fiero5 over what he and his son are doing when it effects you HOW? Just how does what this family is doing together effect you? You could just skip his posts... let them have their HARMLESS FUN... but no... you feel the requirement to turn every post into crap that lessens us all, that an 11 year old shouldn't have to see.

Do you really in any way, shape, or form think that they get crapped on like this in the real world? They've gotten invites to shows, they now submitted and gotten in a magazine (oh boy you don't read it... like that's a requirement), they keep working on it. All the more power to them!

It beats my two fieros in aspects that I bet it beats a LARGE percentage of the ones on this forum.... it runs, it drives, I don't see posts asking why it's broke every other day, it's not colored something that has peeled off and the primer is showing underneath.

There is no rule that says you can't build a car with the 2.5l engine in it and make it look cool in whatever fashion you decide. All show and no go isn't illegal... and seeing what you can do with a street driven 4tech isn't a crime. If it blows up... I guess they get to deal with that.

Who cares what it runs at the track if they aren't showing a time slip and asking to be put in the fastest fiero listings or talking smack about how they can outrun you? I could kick the butts of most fieros here (fight'n words!!!!) with my stock 85 4 cylinder New Yorker (including my own fieros... neither moves right now). My big performance measurement has been seeing just how good a fuel mileage I can get out of that turbocharged boat. Your badass fiero couldn't beat it there... his 4 cylinder probably could even if it couldn't take me from streetlight to streetlight which they shouldn't be trying anyways (nuns, baskets of puppies and all that).

One thing is for sure... it has gotten old, and I'm sick of Fiero5 getting bashed for starting a thread because he knows the flamers are going to go off.

I stand on the green machine family side, because idiots without manners shouldn't be allowed to shout down people who are trying to hold a pleasant discussion on a family forum.

I'm sorry to see that once again the actions of a few forced Cliff to trashcan a thread that started off on a good note where someone was just trying to talk about their accomplishments. Please stop dragging the forum down, pick a new mission... if you've got so much time to waste ragging on Fiero5 and Jordan, do some volunteer work, go work on your car, take a walk, take a class, get a job, pet your dog... do something with your life. Just stop spurting on the screen as you hit send with one of your blasts thinking it makes you a man.

Rant over... I'd normally hit delete because I doubt it'll be taken constructively, but I WANT this out there.

I'm with you man. Don't let the forum police scare you into feeling like you can't give your opinion, which is their goal (well unless you agree with them of course). They can't fathom an 18 yr old being mature when there are 18 yr olds getting shot at and performing very adult duties right now all over the globe in the US Military. So let them try to berate and scare you but you know the truth so don't worry about the haters.

Well the thing is Cliff, the magazine is not Pontiac Performance or even Sport Compact Car. It's some magazine that isn't even in print. If it was in a reputable magazine, which we all know it never would be, but supposing it was, then yea everyone would have to give him his props.

And pretty much any Fiero5 post is destined for the trash can.

I commend you on taking responsiblity to earn your cars, and also wish you great success in achieving your goals in college.

Yes, you may be a lot more mature than most young adults your age, but your are missing a very important aspect of why I responded to your comments in this thread. This may be due to the fact that you've had a more financially affluent enviornment, that you were raised in, meaning things come a little easier due to some parental assistance is some form or other (which is a good thing, if not abused). Steve on the other hand, has no assistance, he's supporting house payments, medical bills, groceries and all else for his family, and finding a way to come up with cash to support car projects for his kids. I'm not saying Steve is poor, but you can tell by the photo's he posted, that he not rich by any means, except in the "Family" department. Now Steve may go a little over-kill in his posts, but he is very proud of the fact that he can do these things with his children, which appears to be guided by his childrens desires. He's doing the best he can on what he can afford, and to me that deserves some respect, it doesn't matter if their ideas on their cars mess with mine. In closing, Steve may or may not have deserved some rather negative feedback in some of his other posts on the Forum, I'm not going to be specific, but negative feedback shouldn't have been posted in this thread. That's just my opinion, and I feel strongly enough about it to take the time to type this response.

I have no harsh feelings toward you, and hope you understand what I'm trying to get at with this response.

I'm not embarassed. Its wonderfull to see an 11 year old who thinks outside of the box. Being unique is what we need more of around here. Jordan has done just great for himself. Let the kid express himself in what ever way that he sees fit. That is how kids grow up. If some of the adults here could be as grown up as Jordan then this thread wouldn't have made it inro the trash can to begin with. Perhaps the folks who are bashing Jordans car are just "green" with envy. My .02 cents.

I just want to take a quick moment to thank all of you who have said the nice congrats to Jordan.
The magazine is called Sport Compact National and is really big in Canada (not sure how far to the west it goes?) and much of the northeast area of the U.S. for as much as I know about it anyway. So it is certainly not an unknown mag by any means. Borders carries it so what does that say? And maybe now with one mag taking interest, more may come. If not, thats ok too.
Jordans mag signing was an idea by the bookstore, and I thought to myself... why the heck not? I asked Jordan and he thought it was kinda cool too. It will be a good experience for him if nothing else. He has learned sooo much allready, and not all of it is about cars. This experience with building his very own car has spilled over into many others areas and has given him real world experiences because of it. I know that he will be a much better and knowledgeable person as he continues to grow and mature and any parent out there will agree that anytime we can expose our kids to new and exciting things and be able to have them learn and grow from them is always a good thing.

I want to also thank Cali Kid and Scott-Wa among the many other nice comments, as those were very well said posts.

Now, Jordans mag signing is sadly not happening today as the mags didn't arrive because Borders did not want to pay the almost $200. extra Fed Ex charges to have them shipped in overnight. They are now shipping them regular Fed Ex instead and hopefully this coming weekend we will have the event If and when it does happen I will certainly update everyone on PFF (who is interested anyway) and show some pics. Maybe by then those who ruined this thread (and you all know who you are) will now have a better clue that the forum in general is now really tired of this kind of thing happening more often now than it ever has.

Yes, I am saddend that this thread made it to the trash can. Maybe it can be a learning experience for some of us and some can make the needed adjustments to help keep this from sadly happening again, wether it sadly happens to me, or to Jordan, or Tarrah or against anyone else that loves this great forum for that matter. As a long time member of PFF I know that the majorityy does not like to see this kind of thing, (and I know based on the many positive responses here alone and the many PM's I received) that things will hopefully change at some point in the near future, so threads like this can actually be read and enjoyed as they were meant to be which was one of the reasons why this great Fiero forum was originally created for in the first place . And not instead be subject to the constant flames, harasing, accusing, attacking and insulting bad trash can sending crap that this one among far too many others has experienced.

Again, from my Fiero owning family and specifically Jordan, I want to thank you all who have and continue to support not only us and our Fieros including Jordans but of course supporting all Fieros in general, no matter what model, engine size, color or modification they may have. They are all afterall a Fiero, and this is afterall THE largest and greatest Fiero forum in the world! So, If you love it, protect it.

Steve
