MY opinion is confirmed by these words :
I have had very, very few homosexual friends in my time. But then.... I probably had a a lot more, but didn't know it.
I have never had a Gay friend, and never wanted one. I KNOW that.

Just kidding, they have the same meaning.

We have gay/homosexual friends, employees and clients of our business. "Gay" is just an euphemism. So, yes, you have gay friends.

quote
Gay is a word (a noun or an adjective) that primarily refers to a homosexual person.

The term was originally used to refer to feelings of being "carefree", "happy", or "bright and showy"; it had also come to acquire some connotations of "immorality" as early as 1637.[1] The term's use as a reference to homosexuality may date as early as the late 19th century, but its use gradually increased in the 20th century.[1] In modern English, gay has come to be used as an adjective, and as a noun, referring to the people, especially to men, and the practices and cultures associated with homosexuality. By the end of the 20th century, the word gay was recommended by major LGBT groups and style guides to describe people attracted to members of the same sex.[2][3] At about the same time, a new, pejorative use became prevalent in some parts of the world. In the Anglosphere, this connotation, among younger speakers, has a derisive meaning equivalent to rubbish or stupid (as in "That's so gay."). In this use, the word does not mean "homosexual", so it can be used, for example, to refer to an inanimate object or abstract concept of which one disapproves. This usage can also refer to weakness or unmanliness. When used in this way, the extent to which it still retains connotations of homosexuality has been debated and harshly criticized.[4][5]

I've had/have several gay friends... One of which self-identifies as a "giant fag." He really camps it up around folks that disapprove of the lifestyle

I don't have a problem with gays or lesbians, but I have a real issue with those that flaunt it. If you want to hold hands with your partner in public, fine, but don't be a 'flamer'(a term a gay friend of mine uses a LOT and I want to punch him in the face for every time he says it).

Heh, I thought one of my friends in New Orleans was just flamboyant until he asked to borrow a tampon from my wife. It really freaked her out lol.

I don't work in Indy anymore (I was transferred to Bedford and was given my own site) and I no longer have any reason to go to Indy, so that is (hopefully) one less thing I will have to deal with.

Long drive ( unless you moved )

I had a client down there ( the base ) and it was always a long haul out in the middle of nowhere when i had to go see them.

I still live in Martinsville, and it's actually about 20 minutes shorter to my office Bedford than it is to 86th and Township Line rd.

I don't get it.

If you're talking about flamboyancy, that has a lot to do with gender identity, not necessarily sexual preference.

Being "Gay" was basically being attracted to or prefer a close relationship with people of the same gender. Being homosexual is more towards having or wanting to have sexual acts with somebody of the same gender.

I believe that some people are born gay, but anybody can be a homosexual.

Some people are asexual and selfsexual or can swing both and be bi-sexual or even be homosexual. But if you are gay you're gay.

Reading that blurb, Ovaltine sounds like amazing stuff.

However, what's the point of taking it if those boobs in the picture don't have the same appeal afterwards?

i have realted different meaning to the terms for homosexuals.

gays are just your normal everyday people that just like the same sex they dont make a big deal about it its jus a part of life

fags are the ones that give gays a bad name, they play it up and draw attention to themselves. no reason to hold up traffic just to show you like someone of the same sex (these people piss me off)

then you have the derogatory terms which i dont use and kinda erks me when i hear them which is queer, flamer, homosexual jus tto name a few

What should we call ourselves ? I am an "American".
Perhaps people label themselves for descriptive reasons. Perhaps people label other people for descriptive purposes. Why do you have an avatar ?

I call myself either human or American, depending on context. ( and i don't prefix American with my ancestor's heritage like some do )

Why do i have an avatar? It's not a label for myself in the slightest or to make some sort of personal statement, its just because she is cute

Besides, i never said i wasn't a bigot. I have admitted that on several occasions as there are 'groups' of people i don't like. i was just pointing out that all this labeling going in in the thread is just that, for those that think they were 'above' all of that.

Homosexual? Gay? what is the difference?

1. Fashion sense.....Gays can REALLY match up ties with the right shirts. Homosexuals seem to stick to flannel shirts, jeans and cowboy boots.

2. Better clubs.....Homosexuals can't dance; Gays CAN. Plus the music's better in gay dance clubs than in homosexual leather bars. Too much Metal.

3. Eye for design....Let the gay guy do the redecorating on the new living room. The homosexual will go for earth tones exclusively.

4. Chick magnet....for some strange reason, it seems the cutest straight girls like to hang out with gay guys while homosexuals only attract other homosexuals. That's no fun.

5. Disposable income....no kid's college funds or alimony to sweat so shopping with gay guys is a blast. Homosexuals tend to have ex-wives stashed away somewhere. Also, see #1.

Gays are MUCH superior to homosexuals, IMO.

I guess everyone is a bigot. "Above all that" don't cut it. There is a lot that I am not above that I also label. If I called maryjane a hero, would I have labeled him ? As I said, descriptive reasoning.
Why do we have the words "blue", "extrovert", "studious", "frack head", you get the point.
I do appreciate your thought. A label though is an an adjective describing a quality of, or perceived lack thereof . People that are not bigots label themselves.

Gay ,homosexual, they invented Gay to help cover up QUEER which is what they were before Political
Correctness, the catholic priest molesters who help destroy the Catholic church were all QUEERs
I have not known many QUEERs,, the two I knew ended up as child Moslesters..
.do not paint the turds with political correctness,
continue to use your heads as a P.C. butt plug,
Yes I know I am a patriotic gung ho,old whoring sea donkey & I will never fit in your cover up political correct hypocrisy.
if you know what a twink is,you know what most QUEERS secret desire is,OH you think it is not true ?? think about human nature !!

I would rather be despised for my character, than liked for the lack of it !!

Yes, to varying degrees.

As to why i label myself? Its only due to having to come up with an answer when asked so as not to sound like a total jerk to someone who didn't ask for that sort of treatment. I picked 2 of the most generic things i can think of. Internally i don't label myself at all.
