Heh. I have to laugh also. A liberal will not even fight for what he expects us to believe.

in the military, we all have to be dressed right dressed, covered down. ok cool. then you have people who like to bend the regulation, or dictate their own regulation to what suits them. For example, this guy says he has to get a haircut every week. okay cool. then he counsels me in writing to get a haircut every week. Umm, no dude. My hair doesnt grow that fast. Let me be ME. I am responsible, i know when to get a haircut. Then you have a sergeant major of a brigade telling every1 that he does not like doing sports PT during PT time. therefore, the fear tactics was implemented to my leadership and we no longer to sports PT on a certain day of the week. Really dude? just because you dont like it does not mean you should make every1 suffer.

Umm! Dude! The Military is a linear command organization that requires subordinate personnel to be discipline and effective as to carry out the mission of combat preparedness and deployment to achieve victory.
If you are in the military and you are being a brat about not somebody telling you when to get a hair cut, I strongly advice you to dishonorably discharge yourself. You are too much of a limp-wrist pansy asss to be in the military to be able to defend this country.

If you polled the entire country, you'd probably find nearly 100% of everyone agrees with this. Nobody is going to say, nah, I don't want someone to have healthcare.
Now, ask those same people who's going to PAY for it, and you'll start getting different answers.

Wow, really wichita?? i just got back from Iraq. thanks... i like to know what you did. not every1 agrees with every1. does not mean you have to be a prick about it.
i was complaining about people putting their conservative beliefs in front of my own beliefs. i was trying to make a point too. i guess i messed that up No, not being a brat. just voicing my opinion on little things. life goes on who cares.
ok command organization yada yada. point is, the military is like the civilian world. you have dress codes at some places, managers have more responsibility, you have speed limits to abide by, and etc... i was saying no matter what, some1 that only thinks for themselves will put out a law or regulation that suits their best interest, but not the best interest of their people.

Based on what you said here, I'd say you're as much a classical liberal (i.e. libertarian) as you are a leftist. Just thought I'd toss that out there.

In an effort to NOT think like everyone else, you're actually thinking like everyone else. It's like the people who put fart cans on their Honda to "stand out" and "be different", they all end up doing the exact same thing.
Health Care for everyone, sure, who's going to pay for it though? Just like in Europe, as health care becomes free, more and more immigrants will flock to the United States to get free health care. How do you propose to resolve those issues? America is becoming less and less like America. Brazil, Thailand, China, and other emerging markets are becoming more American than America is.
Better schools for all? Really? Everyone supports this, who's going to pay for it? You won't find any Democrat, Libertarian, or Republican, or Independant, or Constitution Party politician who will actually support this. The reason is... schools are NOT paid for by the federal government, they are paid for by your local city / county taxes. They are paid for by property taxes. That means that people in nice areas pay more taxes and get nicer schools. Likewise, people in poorer areas pay less (if any) taxes and get significantly less funded schools. Go ahead and try to start a movement where you tell all the lower middle, to upper income families that their schools are going to start to suck, and watch how quickly that bill dies.
It's easy to say "sure, why not" without putting any logic into it...
Well I suppose I should come out of the Liberal closet and declare myself in ghost187x's corner. We view the world similarly. Maybe it is the Central Texas water. I served at Fort Hood in the 1970s and probably got a touch of enlightenment. Maybe it is because I routinely listen to right wing radio and switch to the lefties such as Ed Schultz and Thom Hartman. Despite my voting record and feeling that I am right of center, I hear much less hate from Schultz and Hartman than Limbaugh and Hannity. Not only that, I hear what both sides are saying and with that information, I can decide and not have Fox decide for me with thier advocacy "journalism."
Michelle Malkin is not the sainted person many feel she is and Ann Coulter is a mean spirited person. Mark Levin once boasted that he never lost a case. Maybe I am not smart enough but I can't find any cases he ever worked on in private practice. All I hear from these radio people is hate speech and their desire for single party rule. If we only have one party then we are no better than a banana republic. Incidentally, I don't engage in ad hominem attacks except with regard to people like Malkin, Coulter, Hannity, Limbaugh and Levin. Their prattling speaks for itself. I like Beck to a large degree and I like the fact that he admits mistakes.
The lady from Alaska is the Conservative's best choice? As I said in an earlier post, one side has a pretty smile and the other has a sh*t eating grin as he bows to world leaders. If these people are the best our country can find, we are in trouble. Personally, I voted for McCain and the lady with a pretty face was a distant tag along second.
Thanks, ghost187x for your service.

Ironically that's basically what we have now with the Democrat majority. The only thing we have going for us is there are still other parties and elections, but pretty much all of the legislation that the current Congress and Administration produces is coming from a single party point of view.
