She was already convicted of a DUI. Part of her probation was no alcohol. She got busted again driving drunk, so busted her probation. Prosecuter wants her to go to jail this time for 45 days for viloating probation....no lieniency. Hope she gets it to show all these celebrities money dont always get them off the hook. Not to mention some of the other jail dykes may enjoy her company.
Probably didn't help her case that she was 10 minutes late for court!
Paris Hilton gets sent to jail in June for probation violation
By SANDY COHEN
AP Entertainment Writer
LOS ANGELES — A judge sentenced Paris Hilton to 45 days in jail Friday for violating her probation, putting the brakes on the hotel heiress' famous high life.
Hilton, who parlayed her name and relentless partying into worldwide notoriety, must go to jail on June 5 and she will not be allowed any work release, furloughs, use of an alternative jail or any electronic monitoring in lieu of jail, Superior Court Judge Michael T. Sauer ruled after a hearing.
The judge ruled that she was in violation of the terms of her probation in an alcohol-related reckless driving case.
"I'm very sorry and from now on I'm going to pay complete attention to everything. I'm sorry and I did not do it on purpose at all," she told the judge before announced the sentence.
She was then ordered to report to women's jail in suburban Lynwood.
Doesn't she have enough money to hire someone to drive her around so she can drink all she wants? I guess having money is not the same as having brains. Maybe this will sober her up and be a wake up call to her and others who feel they can get away with breaking the law because they are celebrities.
I think she does what she does to flaunt the money and power she thinks she has. "Look at me. I can drive drunk and get away with it. I can violate probation and laugh in the face of the judicial system that only the little people have to adhere to." It's about time someone put a stop to things like that. I have no problem with her going out and having fun. But she should be made to play by the rules just like every other Joe Nobody. (rant off)

Anyone want to bet the breathalizer will be out of calibration or out of date and she walks free with a check for embarrasment. I know there are several people here who think they are all miscalibrated.

She cant use any of that even if it is outdated or inaccurate. Her jail time is for breaking probation and probation is something that you as the defendent accept. I dont see any way out once the judge has handed out the punishment. Ill bet the boss mamas are already betting on whos the first to nail her, or doing the old tradition of letting her visit Mr Mop Handle in the bathroom.

I don't quite understand the "report to jail to serve her sentence in June", here if you are found guilty and sentenced to do time you go straight from the court room to the jail, don't pass go, don't collect $200. Seems I've noticed this in a couple of high profile (lots of money involved) cases, I guess they have to prepare an appropriate cell for these folks to stay in while they are serving their sentence. Either way this allows her attorneys to appeal and possibly get the sentance suspended before she ever has to spend a day in jail. Just never have seen this with anyone I know, they go to court and if jail time is part of the sentence it is straight to the pokey from the court room.

Actually, in larger counties, it's quite common for ppl to "commit to serve" From the sounds of this, a superior court judge laid it on.. it aint gettin turned on some legal brief.. she's in violation of probation. cut and dry. (need more judges like this across this great land)

IF she does see a day of time she will be isolated from the general population. Easy straight time. I hope she does all 45 but she has the $ to afford the best lawyers to pull some amazing loophole out of their asses.

Well I know a girl that spent the weekend in the county jail for drinking and she got molested, but no one 'saw' a thing.
I guess Paris turned on the bawl baby act that she didnt know she wasnt allowed to drive with a suspended license, even though she signed that order that she had read and understood it when she was released. Apparently she actually violated probation twice after and they hauled her in the second time. This girl has no regard for a law and her mother also didnt appear happy with the judge. Sorry mom, where were you when your ass daughter is pulling crap from coast to coast. Hopefully she serves the time and others like her will wake up. I wouldnt be surprised if mommy and daddy pull some stuff with their money to retaliate against the judge like financing an opponent or demanding his removal for bullying their little baby.
edit to add......wonder how long till her stuff starts selling on ebay like her jail jumpsuit, slippers, toothbrush, etc ? Wonder if the papparazi will get any good spy shots ?

I'm surprised that the judge didn't throw her mother in jail for 2-days doing her outburst in court. IMO I think the brat needs 6-months in jail and her use-to-be friend Ritchie 6 months too.
On another note: The dude who sells those videos, "Girls gone Wild" he too tried to undermine the judicial system and sneaking in monies. He got caught and I think there adding additional time in jail
I learned at a young age by watching others screw up. 'Tis not a wise thing to taunt those who hold your immediate future in their hands. The outcome is rarely in your favor.

Not here, prostitution charge, you get right out on $25-$100 fine on your own recog. Reason no girls worry about it. They just think of it as a business expense. They make it back in an hour anyway. Restaurant waitresses are supposed to wear hair pulled back if not in a net. Hooters girls have to wear theirs styled, no pony or pigtails allowed. There in violation of health code, so they just pay the fine everytime the inspector comes by....just a business expense.

Now shes got a myspace and trying to get fans to email Arnold Swarteneger for him to give her a pardon..........sheesh .... shut the *%* up , That mean ole judge just has it in for her
(sarcasm on highest level) I don't see what the big deal is. I mean, c'mon. She's Paris Hilton. She should be allowed to violate the parole she got for driving intoxicated. She doesn't need to have a license, she's rich. The laws only pertain to the poor. Right? (sarcasm off) Lock her spoiled butt up.

We had at least one guy locally that had over 30 DUIs and hes still driving. Even if you take their tags, they just use someone elses car. They were trying to pass a law that if you let someone with suspended license drive your car, the police can confiscate your car for public auction, just like a drug dealers car.

It wasn't a 2nd DUI. She violated parole from her first DUI.
Just to clarify even further.....she is not on parole, she violated terms of her probation (big difference!). Parole is something you get after you've already been to the big house.
Do your time, learn from it & get over it. It really is that simple. I was sentenced to 180 days in jail for something as banal as having no proof of insurance (8 years ago), but I did my time, learned from it & moved on. All this petition crap, begging for leiniency & crying foul of the judge will only make her look like an idiot (well, a bigger idiot) and people will remember her more for that than the actual charge and time served.
I can't wait for the South Park parody!

She'll probably write a book about her ordeal, and it'll be a best seller...
Maybe they'll make it a program, to stop drinking, drugs, whatever... you pay a bunch of $$$ , and go through a simulated arrest/trial/conviction weekend. Like one of those "colonic vacations".
