That's the direction we are taking there although we will turn off of 1431 shortly after passing through Lago Vista. The way back I was taking us TX29 since most of the people I know in the group live in North Austin/Round Rock/ Pflugerville. Ben and I live in South Austin so it's a drive no matter what.

Yea, I figured if we were going up 1431 we probably turn at Smithwick. No, Don no chicken wire. It`s out on a patio and even though they have some big fans it will probably be pretty warm.
Considering there is one building in Smithwick I`m sure unless you live a mile from it you would never know where it is. You might have driven through it and if you blinked missed it.

no worries Revin, i honestly have no clue what he's talking about. (no offense but i don't know the area lol) i don't think anyone could guess which road we are taking. I could hardly find it on the map without zooming in it is by no means a road that people would take as a through-street to anywhere but a ranch lol. that's why the cruise is 2 hrs instead of 1hr 15min.
One more OT ? about the Icehouse stop--We don't want to violate long standing Texas protocol. I know how it is here in East Texas, but is this the usual Texas icehouse? Jane wants to know how to accessorize for this outing. Boot knife--or is this one of the new fancy schmancy watering holes where they issue a complimentary knife to everyone when you walk in the door?
ONE WEEK COUNTDOWNUpdated 8-9-11 We really need the final head count by Monday but we still get the discounts .
The list
Revin and Lupe Ben and Becca Mike G. and Son Ken and Heidi Rambo the clown and friend  <?? Don and Jane Mike and Sharon Parker Rob and 2.5 others Terry N. Cultcar Doc Richard Lazor Glen Anderson EX Fiero owner Ron Titus So that makes 23 +/- 2
Woot! Very excited and yes please let us know asap so we make arrangements with the restaurant and the Caverns as well as make copies of the route. Email Kevin or make a post, easy peasy.
Remember, Fieros are not required but encouraged. We are doing this to have some fun and talk Fieros. You could also bring pics of yours if you don't want to or can't bring your Fiero.

Keep it up Ben and you will be buying 1st round!! trade cars I don't want to come in last or have a ign. mod. go out or the fuel pump to fail, or get laughed at from the paint.
Just remember, the cave is dark and someone could get lost or fall down a large hole and never be seen again

Yeah Yeah, Mines a driver not a show car. I can buy the first round though. Just need to finish running tests to see what dissolves the fastest and has no taste...
in a 25 day streak of triple digit heat, i don't know that anybody really minds especially in city driving. =P but yes, i imagine we will be joining you in the ranks of no A/C at some point during the cruise.
plus with the new A/C systems, you know if you gun it, you kill the A/C anyways. I do it all the time in my other Pontiac too lol.
Our a/c is leaking out all the refrigerant in the space of 24-36 hrs. I've had it in the shop 3 times this year and they can't find the leak. I'm guessing compressor seals but no dye shows up there.
We may be in the truck (yet again)--I can do without A/C but Jane sez "hell no".
Great, I am really looking forward to the event. Hopefully my a/c will be working by tomorrow. Finally going to bite the bullet and convert to 134a, since the compressor went south. John Michael is hyped as well. Just what I need, a raging hormone, 17 year old teenager for a cup holder. On top of that, he thinks Kevin has the coolest car, no pun on the a/c there Kevin. I guess that is why I keep on modifying DARKWING; I want to be the coolest.
Ya know, the caves are a constant 65*(+/- 5*) year round.
It would be like the pot of gold at the end of a rainbow for those without a/c
Did I say I got a new accumulator and a/c hoses!!!! So...A/C is coming soon!! ( maybe around the end of summer I bet)
I'd be ok if we weren't driving from NE of Houston to Austin and back. Having to sit in the seat and listening to Jane whine about the heat is just more than I care to endure.

Things to do tomorrow. Check oil, coolant, air pressure. Clean out and wash car. Fill up with gas. Charge batteries for hand held radios... What am I forgetting?
