The burgandy/grey 87 Fiero GT was the most common 87 GT color. It had the highest production #. 44% of 87 Fieros were the medium red metallic. Not rare and Old Lar has one, but with 126000+ miles on the clock and most all put on by me.

My 87 of that color was over 250k when it croaked. And i like that color combo more then the blue/grey..
I guess rare is relative.

I have already been all through this with this guy when he had it listed once before. I already told him that it is not rare and gave him all the production numbers to prove it. He says what makes it rare is the low miles. I showed him several on eBay with lower miles... Still no good. Even though the miles are good and the car is nice, that doesn't make it rare. He just hopes to find some kid wanting a car that doesn't know any better. He is sticking with rare.
I love Fieros but I think "supercar" is overstating things a bit.
Depends what year it is...and whether you ever considered a dino a supercar most see it as a poor mans ferrari. In 1975 when the 308 ferrari was born it was to replace the dino. The fiero gt has same ride height, curb weight, wheel base and is a complete rip off within an inch of every measurement of a 308. With the same perfomance specifications bhp etc and is about 1/2 sec faster over 1/4 mile. In some peoples eyes a fiero is a supercar usually an older generations beliefs rather than young persons exaduration. By todays standards it is far from a supercar even with every modification as now if it doesn't have the price tag it isn't supercar material as a supercar isn't limited by its perfomance anymore but by it's price tag as some are twice as fast as next but still super cars.

I HAPPEN TO BE THE OWNER OF THIS CAR...you guys are awesome!!! This car has been in the family since it was purchased off the lot 22 years ago. I bet not a single one of you so called "fiero nuts" could say the same about your car. you guys probably chose fieros because you cant afford ferraris. this car has been in the garage its whole life and never been scratched or in a wreck. I dare you to show me any original car over 20 years old with this mileage that runs like the day it was purchased. you guys could of said "that is a clean car" or "that is cool it is all still original," but no, you all sit around knocking it. go ahead and call yourselves fans, but I dont think you are fiero fans. I have seen 3 fieros in the last 5 years, only one of which was a V6 and it had been repainted, in a wreck, and had 108,000 miles. this car is a steal for the condition it is in. It is liking buying it in 1990 with normal miles. you guys need to seriously find something better to do with your time. remind me to keep my kids inside, because there are some weird ass people. go ahead and look for grammatical errors so you have something else to start a post with, i didnt sit here and spell check it or look stuff with a dictionary and i really dont care to, because i have better things to do like spend time with my kid. thank you all and have a wonderful day...by the way, my fiero is a hundred times nicer than any of yours...PERIOD...
------------------ If its not rare, then I probably dont own it- and thats rare
AS FAR AS "SONGMAN" goes, I have never spoke to him in my life, nor has he sent me production numbers, and he never "explained" any of this to me. he is a liar and I wouldn't believe anything that he has said or will say. all 100% completely fabricated crap. it is bad enough to make fun of people when they are not there, but to sit and lie about stuff. what a loser.

i dont think i would pay over $4000 for either one of those cars... fieros are rare but they are not worth that price tag unless they have under 40,000 miles on them and are 100% flawless... just my opinion though...

There are a number of cars on this forum that run like they were brand new and easily as "nice" as yours.
But thanks for posting

haha... Too funny. Maybe this is not the same guy with the super rare burgundy over silver 87 GT with 5-speed transmission that I gave all the information too. This could be a totally different guy with a super rare burgundy over silver 87 GT with 5-speed transmission. There are just too many of these super rare burgundy over silver 87 GT with 5-speed transmission. So if this is not the guy, why does he single me out of this entire thread to talk about? Everyone here has said how common this car is. But he picks me to call a liar.
Get over yourself, man. Your car is not rare. You are either a scammer or don't know crap about Fieros. People here have obviously tried to enlighten you and just like the guy I talked to with the OTHER super rare burgundy over silver 87 GT with 5-speed transmission (if it is not you), you would rather attack and call us names than learn. Well, good luck with that. Enough people here know me that will vouch for my character. I believe you are showing yours right now.
NOW... If you are truly not the guy that I gave all the information to, I openly apologize. But your bull$**** attitude makes me fully believe that you are and you are still just trying to prove how rare your most common of Fieros is. Even your arguments are the same as the guy I corresponded with.
Either way... get over yourself.
By the way... no one cares anything about your car. You calling it RARE is what everyone is picking on because it is so far from rare that it isn't even funny. As I matter of fact I said "Even though the miles are good and the car is nice, that doesn't make it rare." in the very thread you are calling me a liar in. You said yourself that you have seen only 3 Fieros in the past 5 years. I have OWNED 49 since 1991. And you still want to argue with me about rare? I have owned more just like yours than you haveseen Fieros all together! I have had plenty of super nice all original GTs with less miles than yours. I have owned Indy Pace Cars that are much rarer than your GT. I have owned 5 T-top Fieros that are much rarer than yours. And then you come here and join the forum with a name like rareEXTREMELYrare and we are just supposed to believe it. Even if you car were rare, you just showed over 17,000 Fiero owners not to deal with you.
And crap like this: The ultra-lightweight chassis will slam you to the back of the seat with the rare V6 powerplant. car is extremely nimble and handles great. this car is exotic. Who do you think you are kidding? Rare V6 powerplant? Slams you back in your seat? Exotic? And you are calling me a liar! HAHA..
Welcome to the forum! We need more comedy here.

I HAPPEN TO BE THE OWNER OF THIS CAR...you guys are awesome!!!
Welcome aboard.
Nobody is knocking the condition of your car. It appears to be a great condition, low mileage 87 GT. Being a well maintained one-owner car is very desireable, but that alone does not make it "rare" because there's plenty of "one owner" Fieros around - some with less than 1000 miles. Someone looking for that year of GT would no doubt be happy to find such a prime condition vehicle - and it would be a matter between you two as to what it ultimately sells for.
But beautiful condition as it is, there's nothing "rare" about it, which is what the Poster of the question wanted to know.
ALL 15,968 87 GT's had the V6, the burgandy/grey was the most common color combination, and GT's were "top of the line" and usually fully loaded (there was no "base" zero options GT).
The Indy is rare with only 2000 built. The Mera is more rare with only 247 examples being built. Those are RARE.
This is just ridiculous! A quick Craiglist search proves that our new friend must be right and all of us are wrong... When they are for sale apparently ALL FIEROS ARE RARE! Just about every Fiero listed on Craigslist is listed as rare. We need some education out there for the masses!
Originally posted by His RARENESS: georgeous 1987 Pontiac Fiero GT sportscar. EXTREMELY RARE with the V6 motor, 5 speed manual trans. 55,000 original miles. A/C, power windows and locks, am/fm cassette, removeable sunroof. three levels of trim that year and this one was the highest, thus leading to the rarity. leather in great shape. everything original, car absolutely babied, never been parked outside. This midengine supercar was the Official Pace Car of the Indianapolis 500 for 1984, beating out the new 1984 Chevrolet Corvette for the honor. The Fiero — meaning "proud" in Italian and "fierce" or "ferocious" in Spanish is truely a collectors' car. Now is you chance to own an immaculate garage kept piece of American History and the only American produced mid-engine car. The ultra-lightweight chassis will slam you to the back of the seat with the rare V6 powerplant. car is extremely nimble and handles great. this car is exotic. call for showing. (719) 564-2637 or (719) 568-2938 Tom. thanks for looking.
sorry had difficult time getting craigslist to accept size of picture file. had to manually take each one to paint and mess with it until it would fit.
hey we must have SONGMAN worried...he's keeps on making posts to try to redeem himself in this forum. Look, I dont know you and you dont know me, but for someone to say that you have "tried to tell me" when this is all news to me is crazy...whatever, I dont care to be part of your forum, and actually I dont even own the car, I am helping my father-in-law sell this car and it is my opinion to say a car is rare, maybe not in your small circle, but in the general population-yes, it is a Rare car (fieros in general, wasn't talking about colors or options). One guy in oklahoma said it would be worth it if it had under 40k miles and was immaculate...well, this car is, only with 55k miles. If you guys dont like the car than dont buy it and if the price is too high then make an offer. Again, I am selling this for my father in law. I am glad that someone sent me a link to this thread so i could see how we were getting bashed in your small circle. I am pleased to say that we have got about 15 phone calls and it will indeed sell. some of you on here are making a bad name for your forum with the negative attitude. I like how you came up with only 20 ads for fieros in the whole united states- seems pretty rare to me (speaking fiero's in general, not colors or options) and yes i did get that off of wikipedia...it is fact and most people do not know that.

i looked through some of "SONGMANS" craigslist posting and they all look like crap. almost every one of them have set outside, have jacked up interiors, have dents, missing paint, inline 4 cylinders, etc. not a single one with perfect original paint and interior. I would call that rare. very rare. and out of those 15,000 produced GT's, how many are still on the road, how many in immaculate condition, and how many with low miles??? the guy and florida has the same exact car, thats about the only one. and the guy with 3.7 S/C, that is an awesome car. but that is three...show me a nice one for sale. good night all, hope no one was offended, just trying to sell my father-in-laws car.

That is so full of BS it isn't funny. I can find you 20 ads for Fieros in 20 minutes, without getting out of this "small circle" of people. The only thing rare is the amt of stupidity you exhibit.

1st, My question is, are you off your meds ? I ask, because not many new members join us and act like your first few posts.
2nd, About your dare, Well, I'm sorry. Your right, I can't show you a car with that mileage, that runs like day one. I can show you a bunch of cars that have lower mileage, and are better than yours. BUT, I WON'T. We don't act that way.
3rd, This is the most valuable thing you will learn about our Fiero Forum. We enjoy each others cars here. We don't look down fellow members and attack as you have.
4th, and last, Welcome to our Forum, hope you calm down and enjoy your stay. We enjoy helping new members and all Fieros.
show me 20 immaculate and original cars on craigslist.......you wont, they are all dinged up missing paint and have jacked up interiors
I have 2 Fiero Indys--one with less than 68K on it, in great and original shape, running, inspected and registered, and I do not consider them rare--even tho there are fewer than 300 left on the planet. Even fewer than that in running condition. Your car is not rare.

i only joined this forum to defend myself. i was led to this thread by someone nice enough to send me a link to it saying "think you should read this," well, i started reading it and it was all negative and certain people were telling lies that i had spoke to them and that they told me it was not rare, i am trying to sell the car, that is all...any twenty something year old car with low miles that has been garaged is rare to me, not talking about colors, options, or anything inside the fiero lines, just talking about twenty something year old cars in general. and we are selling it in colorado. there are only a handful of nice original gt's in colorado I am sure if you look hard enough, yet there are thousands of f-150's , taurus's, dodge rams, toyota tacomas, nissan sentras, altimas, etc.....whatever. excuse me for coming off bad, i made the username rareEXTREMELYrare to make fun of the guys in the first 8 posts, that is the only reason i joined your forum and I intend to leave everyone alone.
