Hey, new to the forum, I have a 86 base coupe with 4 cyl and auto. here is what happens when you dont check your battery cable location, guy I got this car from changed the cable. And this did cause a fire under the hood but only burnt this cable. [img] http://us.f13.yahoofs.com/b...jpg?bfneqqGB66nwhLIH [\img] fixed this and hour later and back on the road.

I missed this thread how? Here is my car as I first bought it.
It's a Super Duty enginewith a 2 bbl intake that has been made into a port injected intake to work with a VW/Porsche/Audi Bosch mechanical fuel injection system. It ran for awhile but it ran very rich. I had no idea how one of the previous owners made it work. So when it stopped working(2nd fuel pump maybe, it had 2) I had no idea how to fix it so I stripped it off and was gonna just carb it(btw the SD-4 was yanked at one point bad bearings due to previous owner)on the now stock duke. But I could never figure out the wiring harness becuase the other system was cut into the stock one. ANd my health got in the way. Now I have this.
A full Super Duty with 386hp and 412 ft/lbs of torque. If I can ever get it redone. It has a mild sieze.
And the cherry bomb I did away with all of the spring hangers on the exhaust and heat wrapped alot of it as well. Sounds very nice and heat stays down as well.

My four-cylinder BEFORE I rescued my car And yes, this is essentially how it came. I would show an after but it's no longer a four-cylinder
Well...at least I gave this thread a bump!
OMG!
You saw potential where others would have seen a........wow.....a pretty nasty mess. Can you please post a pic of how it looks now, even if it isn't a 4 cyl? I must know

Sure! As you can imagine I felt this was an ideal candidate for an engine swap. It's still a work in progress (of course) and it's not as pretty as a lot of the build threads you see around but it's definitely better! Next on the list is wrapping up some minor details in the engine bay and then making the exterior look nice.
Edit to add that I'm STILL finding pine needles everywhere I can't seem to ever be rid of them!
