Hey thanks Songman for getting this thing rollin'!! I am very excited to see what they come up with, as I'm sure many are as well!!! If they keep the pricing reasonable, like some of there other products, I'm sure they will sell them without a problem!! Thanks for the update!!!
Well, I was down visiting the designers for the new body panels today and I have to say that I am very impressed with what they came up with. I told them that a lot of people were concerned about the parts looking like something from an MR2 stuck on a Fiero. I have to say that they took those words to heart and came up with something totally different than either of the two kits we voted on. Something that looks totally Fiero inspired, yet updated. They start disassembling my car in the morning and starting to work on the mock-up.
The design they came up with is still secret for now but I will tell you that it is being designed to work on any Fiero. It will replace pretty much everything from the beltline down. If the actual work comes out anything like the drawings, I think we are all going to be pleased. And of course, if they get good response from the Fiero community they will be interested in doing more styles.
They have a huge warehouse jam packed with parts for many cars. And in addition to fiberglass, they also do carbon fiber as well.
I'm excited!
THIS is awesome news. I will be on board to buy a kit if it is anything remotely decent!

I've said it before but it bears saying again - Thanks for being the one to get all this rolling. I am just lucky enough to have lived close enough and had an extra Fiero that I could do without for a while. I think you are going to be pleased with the end result. Definitely Fiero, but updated.

A bonus side effect of this project is that the first step they took was to make a mold from my stock aero nose. I told them that I thought there would be a market for that as well. The only issue there is trying to figure out what to do about the different types of moulding. Obviously for the smooth moulding it is not an issue because you just leave it off. So does that mean we should make it with the back ribbed moulding piece that can be cut off in case of wanting round moulding?

Only if you can end up with a nice flat spot to mount the smooth molding spear after removing the ribbed one. But maybe nobody would really care about having that little smooth point even on their ribbed molding car?

Time frame is about 4 weeks to have the first parts ready. The car is disassembled and molds have already been made of all the stock parts. The work on the new design should begin in the next couple of days. I'll be taking a trip down there either this weekend or next week to take a look-see.
I see a lot of promise here as I mentioned before. These guys seem very open to making more styles if these go well.

Vague discussion of prices. I showed them some of the other pieces on the market, such as Doug Kinney's 355 nose for $400, and told them they needed to stay competitive with that. Nothing in stone, but there was mention of selling a complete kit for under $1000. This would replace everything below the moulding line. I don't know how much under $1000, but under at least.

I'm probably in the minority on this but, reminds me of several other cars already massively produced. I can appreciate the hard work and creativity of the project. Just not my cup of tea.

Ron, the original styles asked about in the beginning of this thread are old news. I have since met with them and told them our fears of having MR2 looking parts bolted on to a Fiero. The design is all new and all Fiero. At least it is to me. I hope everyone else likes it as much as I do. The quest for a smooth Fiero has been a subject of this forum for many years and some people have done it but always just by using filler. The fact alone that this kit gets rid of the moulding is a big plus to me. Stay tuned. It won't be long till we can see the new design go public.

Everybody keep this in mind if you're viewing this thread for the first time! Those pics were just the jumping point for opinions because they are what was out there for a similar vehicle.

I had planned on making my own kit to emulate the more "ricey" of the two previously posted, but I think I'll hold off and wait to see what they cook up.
They may already have another one sold!

I will anxiously await the new version. Thanks for the update.
This is the first I have looked at the vote (I did read the original thread)....this is really looking promising. I had plans for an Archie Widebody kit, but definitely want to see what they come up with before spending any money.

I'm hoping to go down sometime this week and see the progress. I talk to the designer about every day to hear how everything is going. The car I took is a notchback but I am thinking of taking a fastback down there since they already have the car all apart. The concept drawing they made was a fastback so we can match the look if I change it. Everybody down there seems very excited about the project. And Marie is looking forward to driving it on the Coast Run!

No. They didn't want to release anything until they actually get the parts built so I don't even have a copy of the drawing. Hopefully I can get it soon because I hope to use the that car in the design for my new Coast Run shirts.

The rear bumper is done and they will be starting on the front next week. There were actually some changes from the original drawings that I saw when I delivered the car. I haven't seen the results yet but they say it is even better. Plans were made yesterday to take a second car down to them to start working on something slightly different. The first car was a notchback and the next one will be a fastback.
Also, I mentioned earlier in the thread that they started out by making molds from the original Fiero aero parts and I suggested that they should keep those because there could very well be a market for them. They agreed and will also be offering those up when the customized parts hit the market.

I'm going down today to take the 2nd car. They are almost finished with the first one. I'll get to see it today for the first time since I dropped it off. They haven't given me any idea about when I can pick the car up or when they think parts may actually be ready for sale. They are going to do a different style on this second car. I haven't even seen drawing of what they have planned for it but I hope I will today..
More later...
