That just happens to be one of the pictures I gave to Vinny (owner of Carlisle Auto Body) when he asked "What the hell are you thinking?!?"

Lets give a little credit where credit is due (since that is politically correct):

Fiero Warehouse and Sage - Side scoops
The FieroStore - parts, parts, and more parts (including many still to come).
BV Motorsports - his documented installations were invaluable!!
Carlisle Auto Salvage - supplier of my 88 cradle and suspension, engine and transmission, along with parts too numerous to mention).
Rockcrawl - 4.9 installation king
Skitime - ttop kit (thanks for holding it for a couple years for me )
Tom Derr - ttop installation and waterproof instruction manuals (very much appreciated!!)
jscott and mrfixit - Firebird dash and doorpanel installation kings!!
Carlisle Customs and Restorations (Carlisle Auto Body) - you seen it here!!
Kris Munson - New flushmount headlight kit
Sound Choice Inc - pending fiberglass fabrication on various interior components, along with electronics installation.
Mr Mikes - Midnight and electric blue super sport leather seat covers
Mark Hoagland - he is the man for parts in a pinch!!
StockInteriors.com - dark grey carpet and floor mats
Derek Dawson - filling in the missing/broken pieces of my Firebird dash
Numerous others whom I have dealt with and not mentioned, but appreciate anyway!!

Well it's a miracle... My Fiero is returning to the nest this morning. Unfortunately not under it's own power, but it will be in my garage (provided my wife moves her junk out of the way). The shop is going to put it on their rollback before noon (and before the snow is expected to start) and drive it to the house without me I will have more/better pictures and the interior installation write-up here for your reading and viewing pleasure (or at least my entertainment).

And at long last...

I had it delivered on a rollback while I was at work (just before a nasty winter storm hit).

At last, it looks like my weekend will go according to plan

I think winter was invented to overhaul your car, thats all I can really figure out of it.

GREAT choice on color, that is probably the best blue I have seen in a long time. Keep up the good work, hope you have a heater in that garage.

Wow, you are really going for broke on this car, no pun intended, er, well, maybe depending on your pocket book.

Anyways, VERY nice Fiero in the making! Can't wait to see it finished.

IT IS OFFICIAL: My Mr Mike's leather kit has been ordered:

Super Sport - Midnight and Electric Blue (with the blue welts and logos).

(There are no Fiero super sport pictures available of that combination yet on MrMike's site - but there will be soon!!)

I also have new carpet (dark grey/charcoal) from StockInteriors.com.

The casualties:

The cabin harness was in need of some serious attention. I think that the generator wire was damaged, and so...

they killed my battery over the last 7 months. I think it can be revived once it has a chance to recharge...

and a quick cabin harness change (modified specifically for the Firebird gauges).

Autozone to the rescue:

Autozone was nice enough to put my Optima battery on their charger/tester and it appears to be alright. Granted, the car could use some time in the car running at 80mph down the interstate, but the battery at least appears to be fine

Goal for this weekend: Get the car started and able to drive again. THEN I will work on the Firebird dash and door panel mods. More pictures will be added this weekend

I got my MrMike's email today!!! Seat kit should be here just in time for my birthday

1 1987 Fiero leather seats kit
Super-Sport style
Midnight & Electric Blue
Add Fiero logos – Electric Blue
Add Electric Blue welts
Add speaker holes punched
DVD instructions
Install kit

MrMikes kit should be here on Thursday and I had already requested a day off from work on Friday (my 42nd birthday - how depressing). Guess what I am planning to be doing now (in addition to my prior plans )!!

Already this morning I cleared out a little room for new charcoal colored carpet and MrMike's (when they get here and done)

and started cleaning out this mess up front.

I think a trip to Advanced Auto for some carpet for the front is in order...

My wife came out to the garage and gave me the "WTF are you doing" look. Wonder why

I guess she isn't happy that I am cutting the firewall for behind the seat subwoofers

Now for the driver's side - but wait. She isn't finished with me yet. Apparently Hammer (my 8yr old son's hamster) died last night during the celebration. So my momentum stalls while I have to go find a new hamster on New Year's Day. Good luck

We successfully replaced the hamster and only lost 2 hours... Then broke my last disk after 10 minutes on the driver's side sub hole (and I can't get to the store until tomorrow - so...)

I took the opportunity to mess with the wiring again...

I managed to finish cutting the driver's side subwoofer hole this morning (after a quick trip to Lowes).

I bought a can of the expanding foam, but I don't know that I like that so much. May just box it in with MDF instead.

While I had the Dremel and the cutting wheel out, I took the time to clean up the cuts on the steering column snout.

BEFORE:

AFTER:

It will need reinforced to make up for the missing metal - I will address that when I make the new brackets for the dash...

Every time I visit the garage, I just have to smile. The difference between what the Fiero was a year ago and what it is today (even though still under construction) is just phenomenal. What do you think?!?

I love having a winter project (that I can actually work on during the winter now that I have the car in a garage). When we moved into the condo a few years ago, my wife was nice enough to sell most of my power tools, so now I get my revenge. I just went to Lowes (again ) for a vice and jig saw (planning to make brackets and cut the Firebird door panels this weeked - AFTER I put my seats together with MrMikes!!). If I get all of that done, then it'll be on to building my "behind the seats" subwoofer boxes. I am really looking foward to yet another 3 day weekend (took off Friday ) so it'll be more Fiero work and more pictures posted here. This is getting fun
