todd, that post was about worthless.. lol I know people can say whatever they want about it, I really do not care, just trying to keep this thread a little cleaner, the patent thing has already been discussed.
Chris, You did not steal anyones designes, you do however have designes similar to other companies, mostly improved, I was simply trying to explain why I did not want to post a pic of my hinge on this website.

Hey AJ7.......So.....are you accusing EXTREME of stealing ALL of your designs here??? I just want clarification on this. I just find it hard to believe that they STOLE ALL YOUR IDEAS, when you haven't shown one single picture of your hinge yet. Could you clarify this for me??
Read my previous post very carefully, I did not say they stole my ideas, look at pictures of the decah kit and theirs... thats all I was reffering to. Also, we were going to make a deal on the gullwing hinge, they didnt answer my e-mails after I changed what needed to be changed on the contract so they wouldnt have taken my future Ideas also.

Actually, the only reason I want to get a patent, is so someone cant patent the same thing and then tell me I cant sell them anymore. otherwise, I wouldnt bother with it because they could just copy it anyway and I'm sure they will. I know a few people that have gotten patents and know how everything works with them, one is helping me with mine. I'll have a patent search done before I even try to get a patent, but its not going to cost even $1k. there are many places that will do it for $200-600. then usually $1500-3000 for the full patent, but only $100 for the provisional (I have seen $150 but I think that was going through the website).
and why do you guys care if I get a patent anyway??? bottom line is your not getting any pictures of it until I have one.
So you are the patent guy then...OK. The prices I quoted were from a 2 hour presentation provided by our patent attorney who in turn was quoting average cost across this country. Now if you were only patenting it to protect yourself from someone else coming in and preventing you from selling, then obviously you know that once you post a design of anything in a public forum (such as a message board or publication), then the idea becomes public knowledge and is longer eligible for patent? So you just saved yourself $150.
whatever...Good luck!

oh, and to the secretive comment, I wouldnt have to be but there is a company that is on this forum that already tried to steal all of my designs, so I have to be secretive. (I'm sure you can figure out what company it is)
quote
Also, no you never stole anything from me, you had it in the contract so that you would get the rights to all if my future idea's/products. if I were to sign it (for PFF, it was for a new design of gullwing style doors, and it was supposed to only be THAT DESIGN) , I made the changes that needed to be made so that would not happen, I dont know that you meant it that way but after I made the changes you never even answered another e-mail from me, so what am I to think of that?
Tell me, do these two statements not contradict themselves? The reason I stopped responding to your emails is due infact that you kept changing the contract in a way that made it impossible for us to manufacture the product for you. Keep in mind that the contract even stated (we put this in there) that upon completion of the initial design you would be first to receive and check everything over. You were unprofessional and that is why we chose not to deal with you.
It is quite apparent you do not trust anyone, and to say that you do not trust our company and do not like the way we do business is laughable. We handled ourselves professionally to try and work out a deal that would allow us to manufacture the hinges for you, however, we could not come to an agreement. Also please let me know what reason you may have for not trusting our business?
And yes, look at the Decah kit and ours! If they look similar then you are not looking hard enough, they are not even close. I could only begin to list the number of ways that they are different but feel my time can be better spent elsewhere.
Also the major issue you have is saying things without thinking then trying to cover them back up by editing posts, in the post you claimed that our designs were "Stolen" however now you go back and changed to copied.
Taken your future ideas also? What ideas did we ever receive from you? This just keeps going on and on and the back pedaling continues.
The only reason I will keep viewing this thread is to straighten out any lies that are told about our company.
read them very close, they are both saying the same thing.
Everyone, I did not mean for it to come off looking like they stole any designes, I was just pointing out, all of the vertical door/lambo door systems work alike, but there are multiple patents.
the thing with them trying to steal my ideas, was just a miss-understanding in the contract.
Yes I know, I word things very badly...
Also, I am asking Cliff to end these threads, if anyone is still interested I guess you can pm or e-mail me.

Cliff, if you are reading this thread to make a decision on whether or not to close it - PLEASE DON'T!!! While it's true that a lot of these threads end up in worthless bickering over nothing, I think this one is serving its purpose. The true character of the person/company offering products should be known, and I think that is becoming obvious here. In the event that a product is ever developed and offered this thread should be viewed carefully to help the buyer make an informed decision on whether or not to commit. Since the story changes so much, maybe critical information should be quoted as soon as it is posted so the truth is always evident...
A number of us have honestly tried to help AJ, but he's just not willing to listen and learn at this point in his life.

I think its pretty obvious at this point, shown by the response (or lack thereof) since it was bumped last that nobody is really interested in this anymore. Nor do I think anyone has any real interest in dealing with AJ7.
