the sport coupe has the ws6 suspension code on the build label on the wheel well, for one. i owned one, and half of its interior now lives in my '85GT.

if the suspension differs, maybe so did the rims? In '85 the base model had 13-inch steel rims, the GT had 14-inch rims and mine seems to have had the 13-inch turbo fin rims from the factory and being registered as a Fiero SC...

Which code is it for the WS6 suspension?? I know its probably in the fender well with all the other option codes, but i dont know which code would refer to the suspension. Thanks.

Hmm according to my title mine is a 85 Sport Coupe and I got it with the saweet 13 inch rims.... Not 100% sure they are stock. Doesnt really matter now since this is made up of at least 6 fieros now...

The code IS WS6. And Tinkrr hit the nail on the head as far as how to identify them. 5th VIN character: E = coupe, M = sport coupe.
Also, I've seen sport coupes with the rally suspension option Y99 (which isn't as good as the WS6 performance suspension). The 13" turbo-finned rims were optional equipment on the sport coupe.
So that would make mine just a 'coupe with the fifth character in the VIN being an E. (BTW it came with 14" rims when I bought it from the original owner).

The "coupe" was a very low production car. That's the one that you saw in the newspaper advertisement for $7999 (one at this price).
The "sport coupe" is what nearly all bumperpad notchies are. No, they didn't have WS6 or anything else special about them, they were just the base 4 cylinder car. The "coupe" was the sub-base economy special.
