What is the best method of masking the lit up "PONTIAC" lights. Does anyone have info on the style and font size? I need them ASAP to have my GT Skyline lights ready for Norm to paint this weekend for the Daytona show. Please help if you can.

Thanks,
Greg

For those interested, The "FIERO" logo is created with the "Hemihead" font
The "PONTIAC" logo is created with the "Goodtimes" font

You can search for these and download these for free on the internet. Just unzip them and add them to your font folder for Microsoft Word or whatever program you use.

Fiero font is NOT Hemihead. That is a Mopar font. Common misconception, they are close but no cigar.

Fiero Font:

"Hemihead 426"

BTW - Eric/Racingman24 worked directly with Paul McKibben to produce a precision set of taillight masks for taillight refinishing (they are not exactly a specific font)... I'm sure he could set you up with a set very quickly and easily!

...he doesn't have them listed, but call or email him - he's got them available!

I don't know if there is one--but do have an idea. (Yeah, when I get "ideas" things usually get broken ;-) )

Have you tried tracing out the letters on the light itself on onionskin/ tracing paper, then either making your own mask or taking it to a sign shop and asking them to make one?

They might be able to scan it, and turn it into a vector drawing for the vinyl cutter so a font wont really be needed.

That's exactly what MinnGreen was talking about me doing. It's already been done. Paul over at FieroSails has the file, and has the vinyl to cut the thing up. If I remember correctly, he sells it for something like 10 bucks. He's a very stand up guy, and a good businessman.

Just saying there is no reason for doing all the extra work when it's been done already.

My mistake..... I do have the Fiero logo in EPS format but you have to have either Adobe Illustrator or another program that can open the file. I actually use Flexi Expert since I have a vinyl machine. Sorry about the earlier post about the "Hemihead" font.

Hi, could you send the Fiero logo to me to in EPS format? justin@justinchristie.ca. I've been looking around for an Illustrator version for a while now.

Thanks! Justin.
