Well, at least that is one more. Tell him that if he wants to change to our hotel that they should not charge him if he cancels his reservations at Motel 6 now.

Hey Kelvin! Long time no hear! We'll leave the hotel around 8AM. That will put us into Monterey around lunchtime. Glad to hear that you are coming out.
I just called the Courtesy Inn, Manesh is not in yet, but I'll see if there are any rooms free Friday night. If so, I'll be arriving late Friday nite, or I'll be staying at the Motel 6. - kv

Uhhhh anyone want to split a room? I'm 20 and male. I don't snore. I can pay half the room cost in cash.. I'd like a room at least on Friday but Saturday would be cool too if I decide not to drive on to Los Angeles.
Anyone want to caravan from LA on Friday late afternoon? (I have class until 2)

Steven, If nothing else you can come across the mountains and go across with us. The first part of the drive is boring but then you get into the mountains and the wineries. We'll be leaving here probably a little after 4:00.

Sounds good. That ought to work if I don't get caught in class too late.
Anyone up for splitting a room? I'm going to hold off on buying my own until I get there in case someone wants to split one that doesn't catch this thread.

FYI - Manesh is only going to continue to hold rooms for us until 3:00 tomorrow afternoon. He called today and told me that out of all of the interest we are seeing, only two people actually have rooms reserved. That is me and Pokey. I had to tell him to go ahead. I can't ask him to lose money by holding rooms that may not be rented. Friday night is a big night for them.
For anyone who rented rooms at the Motel 6, as of now there are still rooms held for us at the Courtesy Inn if you want to stay at the hotel with us. As long as you cancel ahead of time you will not be charged by Motel 6.
Either way, if you want to be assured a room, make your reservations before 3:00PM tomorrow. You could get a room just by showing up or you might not... Do you feel lucky? Well, do ya?

Looks like there may be rain this Saturday - if it's not raining early Sat morning, I'll make the trek down south - I want to cruise with the Tops off.

I guess I'm going to drive home from Monterey since I can't find a room to share (two nights is too expensive for me alone). I'll come up tomorrow late afternoon most likely so I'll be there Friday night as well as the first half of the run on Sat.
Dale, I'm not going to make it to Bakersfield in time to meet up with you guys; I get out of class at 2 and still have to prepare my car. I'll see you there!

So I guess you and Mary will not be able to join us this weekend?
This weekend was supposed to be a slower, more enjoyable drive than the last time anyway. In my opinion, just more of an excuse to get together with friends and hang out and talk cars. For me, it makes a dang good excuse to go eat at Gump's too! Mama's Fried Chicken is calling to me!

Sorry, Dale, I thought we told you. This weekend is Mary's annual family gathering in Auburn. Very sorry we had to miss the run (rerun?). I hope you all had a good and safe trip.

Yet ANOTHER event that the woman and I could not attend. I appologize all! I'm glad to hear that it went well! Hopefully next time, we can attend. Remember, the next big event down here in So. Cal. is the Summer Splash BBQ. More info on that hopefully here this week, so we can give people shitloads of time to prepare!

I'm glad to hear that it was a good time, I would have been there had it not been raining...
Sat was 70 percent sun 30 percent rain(mostly light) and actually I liked the rain. I had my window down while there was light rain and it felt nice to get a little splash now and again since I had a light fever anyway..
Sunday was the most spectacular California Winter day ever. 70 degrees warm sunshine clean ocean air.
Those that didnt make it missed out greatly.Great company and a very easygoing roll. Found a great little bar/restraunt to hang out in at night. Very friendly people made us feel at home and we had a blast there too. Bunch of Kareoke singers and damn they were good! I would have stayed till they closed and kicked us out but i was kinda sick so I got to tired. But I am going back and I am thinking of getting some of this going at the next event we have out there. I got their Info to talk with them and have already spent a couple hours on the phone with the main dood running the show. I can't wait to get out there again. I may just pack a bag and grab the nearest woman and head out there just to hang out for a weekend. Still want to explore Cambria and Morro Bay.

The surf is riding crazy high over there on the coast. For about the past 6 months the waves are breaking over the highway! This picture was taken when the high tide was starting to ebb. About an hour earlier and we would really have gotten a show. We took this on Sunday morning but when we did the real Run on Saturday it caught Pokey off guard when he got a windshield full of seawater.
Here's another picture that Pokey wanted... (I have the hi-res if you still want it as a background.)
As was already mentioned above, the very slight amount of rain we got was not at all a hindrance to a great day. The goal of this day was enjoyment and not speed anyway. We had some totally outstanding views up and back and we got back to San Simeon just in time to go to my favorite sunset spot.
I'll put the rest on Fiero Performance when I get time to reduce them all to an internet friendly size.

Hey, hey hey! Leave the guy in the Sebring alone! Yeah, he was getting on our nerves but he was doing the best he could. After all, a Sebring is NOT a Fiero! He was working with sub-standard suspension.

The one you asked about is 1446. There are random pics there from the Run, including the sunset. I'll try to thumbnail them later so you can see what they are without having to download them.
