I was going to get the time off, but I have other guys that wined and wined and wined and wined because these days I wanted off were conflicting with there days off for getting their toes manicured, or their dogs castrated, or their birds' wings clipped, etc. So instead of taking this weekend off, and risking people calling in sick, and gimping the team, I can't make it guys!
I guess that's one of the downfalls of being one of the head hancho's in charge, huh!?
--- Goobz!
Merry Christmas everyone!

Looks like the list has dwindled since I have been away for the holidays. Still got a good group though.
As for rooms, I would say to see if someone who is traveling alone wants to split a room. The next best thing is to meet us on Saturday and just get a room for Saturday night. You can either meet us at the hotel at 8AM on Saturday or at Gump's around noon. I know of a few people who are not on the list who will be showing up at Gump's.
I just got off the phone with the Motel 6 that is right down the strip. They have some rooms at $45.99 plus tax. Their phone number is 805-927-8691. (BTW - It used to be a Holiday Inn before Motel 6 bought it. It is a decent place.)

We normally go down to the Main Street Grill on Friday night for ribs and lots of talk with all the people in attendance. Then we hang out in the pool area at the hotel for as long as anyone wants to before going to bed. We try to leave the hotel at 8AM on Saturday morning so we can get to the lunch spot in time. After having lunch and hanging out for a couple of hours we head back down the coast and generally get back to the hotel around 5PM. This time of year if you are much later than that it is dark. If we can get back on time this year, folks might be interested in going across to the beach and watching the sunset. I have some great pics from there.
Sunday morning is casual. Some folks go to Hearst Castle for tours. We usually have a groups that goes into Morro Bay for breakfast. Then people leave out heading for home, usually around noon or later. There are usually convoys going in on Friday and then out on Sunday. The group is considerably smaller this time so I don't know how many convoys there will be.

Well it looks like I won't be going either. I just got a new job and I have to work. So, unless anything is planned between now and then I will see you all at The 4th Annual California Coast Run in November! Take care and have a great ride! And take lots of pictures!!!

I just call a call from Manesh at the hotel and he says that other than the two rooms that I have reserved for this weekend that he doesn't have anyone reserved. I went through the list of names as shown on the numbered list on this page and he didn't have any of those names down.
If you have made reservations at the Courtesy Inn for this weekend, please call toll-free at 1-800-555-5773 and talk to Manesh. Do not talk to anyone else at the desk. Manesh is the manager and the owner's son so he will make sure everything is right.
And for people who had called and thought there were no rooms available, please call back. Manesh says he has 15 rooms blocked for me instead of 10.
Jess, I have you and Patti using the second room that I reserved that was vacated when Brianna got her new job so you are taken care of.

.
I just called again and spoke to Manish. I got my reservations for Fri And Sat. I'm stoked now. I called before and they told me Fri Was booked. Manish says he has rooms saved for us so if you called before talk to him and he has you covered. I was teetering on going or not because I live kinda far and didnt want to drive out so early in the morning Sat. I tend to fall asleep at the wheel on the highway so leaving the day before is the only way I can do it.
I'm looking forward to a nice drive on the coast. I am under the impression that we won't be going to fast so I will actually get to take in some of the veiws.
------------------ PLAY HARD-DIE FAST And folks always remember to eat before driving on the coast. If you fly off the cliff and no one finds you the only thing worse than knowing you are going to bleed to death alone is to do it hungry.

Thanks Pokey... Glad you got your room. Manesh said the weather was great on the coast and was forecasted for the same through the weekend so anyone who was holding out thinking the weather might be bad can go ahead and plan to come now. I hope all the other people get the message and go ahead and make the call. It's not long now!
Sorry to hear that, Jen. I was looking forward to you guys making it.
For anyone who gets the news tonight about the rooms, of course Manesh is already gone for the evening. He normally comes in around 10:30AM so you can catch him tomorrow. Also, if you want to do something while you have it fresh on your mind you can e-mail him at innkeeper@courtesyinns.com and tell him that you are with our group and need a room. If you are one of the ones who had already booked a room, tell him that also so he can try to find out what happened.

Sorry to hear that, Clive. You're gonna miss a good time. Since Brianna is working this weekend we will have McKenzie with us so we're bringing the Sebring with her in the backseat. Another Fiero event with no Fiero... I really should quit doing that!

Hey, Happy New Year fellow Fiero family! I haven't checked in since the November Coast Run, so am just trying to catch up with the Forum activity this week! It would be great to meet whoever can make it at Gump's for lunch Saturday, but first I have been busy trying to get my car to pass the smog inspection (a catalytic converter helped!!) and finally got that done yesterday, but now it looks like rain pretty solid the whole day the whole way from here. We're still talking about it and will let you know Friday after we check back with the meteorologist or if we decide to bring another ride. It should still be a great drive from the south, as usual! Take care everyone!
