I can try to find out if either one was a repaint.
They are both still in the Yards and I have to go to the
white one and get the rack off of it.
Never mind had a Brain Fart, I made a copy of the Title and
yes you are correct it was Black.

Now the red one actually seemed to be stock as far as the
paint goes, but since they are being taken apart I can see more.
it did have the Black lace wheels on it, I have them now

Where would I find the paint code, as most parts are still there??
Is it on the inner fender??

Good deal about the black one, Thanks!
Yes, if the sticker is still on the inside of the fender, under the hood, you might be able to read a paint code. Look for a code under the main block of codes, that has something like U41U. That will tell us for sure.

Good work! Better watch out, if anyone else is still reading this thread, you'll soon be up to your nose in requests for 88 parts....

John,

I don't know if you got it or not, but I emailed you the info on my '88 coupe (The Hottie) that I had in New Orleans. The car was a white, 4cyl auto with grey interior. It had an aftermarket sunroof. The VIN# was: 1G2PE11R0JP214194.

Unfortunately, about a month and a half after I finally got it running, Hurricane Katrina buried it under 15ft of water for 2 1/2 weeks and then looters stole it from my driveway about a month later, so I don't have any idea where it is right now. Any other information on the car that you'd need I'd have to check the old "Diary" threads since I don't have any of my documentation for the car.

Hope this helps to keep your records up to date.

Say Oldtalbot, in checking the previous info, I had your first car, (your daughters coupe, #6619) as having a 5 spd. You have it as an automatic, can you please confirm the transmission type? Thanks!

It's an automatic, all right. Two of our 88's are autos and my yellow one's the only 5-speed in the family. Not sure why you have it as a 5-speed as the setup looks factory stock... although the previous owners did tell us they rebuilt the engine.

Guess it wasn't nailed down.

Probably the same people who were floating plazma TVs out on innertubes, while everyone else was trying to get rescued.

I have yet to pull the console, so no ALDL info for you

Doing an engine swap last night/today, so I had the console out.... No sticker....

Never know, it might have fallen off and I'll stumble across it if/when I dig deeper under the skeleton, or down beside the carpets.

Look under the front hood at the RPO sticker and see if it lists an MG2 or MD9. That'll tell you for sure!

I bought a little booklet with all the breakdown of all Fiero production (84-88 by year and model) at the FOCA Meet in Pigeon Forge Tenn in 1991. I've moved a number of times since then and don't have it handy, but will do my best to try and locate it. It was the definitive guide for production numbers for evrrything Fiero related.....

There may be others in PFF who were at that meet or who bought the booklet. It was about 4"x6" in size and had about 80 pages of production number details. It wasn't an official GM booklet, but something a member put together after asking for all the details from GM.

I FOUND IT!

It's called "Fiero Spotter's Guide" by Mark Corbin - First Edition - 1991 (370,168 Fiero Cars built)

Anyone know who Mark Corbin is?

Attached is a link to a scan I did of the production numbers. The booklet has everything - all options etc....I could scann it and put it up - but if Mark is still around he might really object - so if you have a line on him - maybe he can print up more and sell em.

Mark Corbin is the author of the Fiero Spotter's Guide.

I have the second edition 1996. Mark is from Ohio and I got my copy from him when he was at the Dells one year. I haven't seen him at any of the shows I've attended lately. Lots of nice information on Fieros for $5.

John, This is someone else's car about a mile from me. It is a coupe with factory wheels and it does not have a sunroof.

I saw this T-Top car the other day. It was a coupe style (possible formula?), red, 5spd. It had brown interior, don't know if it was 'beechwood'

Vin: 1G2PE1191JP220361

Don't know if it helps any, but perhaps...

I have a yellow, 5 speed Formula that came from Biloxi, and was under Katrina's water. Is the previous owner on PFF?? PM me if you are.

Anyways, you have an email with the VIN.

Well, here is the VIN of a Formula I found in the Junkyard (Beedle's Auto Salvage, Attica IN):

1G2PE1196JP211929

Car was red, 4 speed according to what was left of the shift console. Had after market sunroof, after market power windows. Grey interior, and hardly any options other than A/C.

Windshield, entire drive train, wheels, and most molding gone, interior all torn up.

May it rest in peace

Well I got a few for you to add.
The first was the first fiero my boyfriend and I ever had.To bad we had no idea how rare the t-top cars were until after we no longer had it. I dont have the vin for it anymore but it was a white 4-cyl auto coupe w/grey interior and t-tops.That's pretty much all I remember about it because he didn't have it long and I don't think I rode in it more than 5 times.
Next is vin #1G2PE1194JP210570
It was a yellow formula, grey interior,5 sp,sunroof, air, and black lace rims. The car was in a local p-n-p and has been crushed.
Last but not least is my formula.
vin #1G2PE1193JP200399
She's black with the grey cloth interior, auto, air, hardtop, and black lace rims.88,000 original miles. She was headed for the paint shop on the 1st of dec. but was hit on nov 1st.Repairs are underway and she will be good as new in a couple months.
I am sure these will all be new to you and I'm happy to have been able to contribute.S.
