1988GT, Getrag, red, grey interior, fully loaded with all options
I bought this Fiero from the original owner in 2002 in the Bufflalo, NY area. It was totally stock except the rear deck lid had been replaced with the IMSA style rear spoiler. Since then, I have done extensively modifications with a 3800SC engine swap, poly suspension, KYBs, 12" Corvette rotors, 17" ASA wheels, and much more.

Wow, there's alot of new info since I last checked in. I'll try not to leave anyone out here.
Motoracer838, That IS a new one, how did you know? Thanks for all the info on it.
RAYDAR, got your email, thanks for doing that. I'm trying to make the meeting Sat, I'll let you know tomorrow if it's going to happen.
Vortech, That's a very interesting question. I don't know if even Fiero John-WI knows the answer to that yet, and he's got the most complete info on the CJB TTOP cars (along with Ray Paulk). But, based on percentages of cars in the database, I can make an educated guess. Starting with how many Med Red GTs have leather, I estimate that only 99 have Grey Leather seats and 54 have Tan Leather seats. Dividing out the number of 614 GTs with CJB Ttop into the known numbers of each color GT, gives an estimate of 9 Med Red CJB GTs with Grey Leather seats (and 5 with Tan). Now, I know these numbers aren't right, because I know from experience that the are proportionally more Bright Red TTop GTs than the percentages would indicate. But, this is probably a ballpark number, and we'll all have to wait until Fiero John-WI gets done documenting them all. Of course, this doesn't include the number of GTs with Leather interiors and NON-CJB ttops, like my car!
UDLOSE, just figured out your name, good one! I had two of yours and two are new, where've you been hiding them? Thanks for the complete records on ALL the cars.
ig88, I had some of this cars info, but you've added to the record. Many Thanks.
Friz, This is another new one, where are all these new cars coming from? Thanks!
dezzy, This is ANOTHER new one, can you please add the roof type and what kind of transmission you have? Thanks!
atjxl, as with ig88, I had some of this info, but you've filled in the holes and I think I've got your car fully now. Thanks!
NorthFloridaFiero, you had sent me the info, but seeing your sig brings up a question. You car is Med Red Met, and is mixed in with a run of black cars. Now, the next color off the line was Med Red Met, but are you sure you car was Factory Med Red Met and not a repaint? I noticed your mirrors are painted as well, did you paint them or were they sprayed with the rest of the car before you bought it? Can you check the paint code on the RPO code block just to make sure? Thanks for indulging an old database guy's ravings.
RickKer, This is another new one. Awesome everyone, lots of new ones and lots of old ones with missing info cleared up.
Thanks everyone, I'll get these put in the database and see how many we have.

I was told it was med red. It was repainted a couple years ago by the previous owner to a caddilac color code I believe. I'm pretty sure originally it was med red cuz the previous owner said it wasn't too far off from the original color. I can check the RPO code, where would it be? Also is there a way to tell exactly how many cars like mine exist?

There should be some paint codes on the sticker glued to the inside of the front compartment, near where the Brake Master Cylinder is. I wish I had the codes handy, but near the bottom is a WA-XXXX number, that also tells what the color is. Check that at your convenience and let's see what it says. It sounds very much like it WAS Med Red Met, and I'm not surprised that it is mixed in with a run of Black cars, especially since you mentioned the repaint (which is when the mirrors got it too). I'm just trying to clean up loose ends, while I've got one handy!
Thank You for your help.

Hey John; It was a lucky guess, I bought the car off of a used car lot in the north Denver area about 6 years ago, it was a trade in with 80,000 miles and a burnt clucth. so I didn't think that it would be in the database. Cheers Beers n Gears. Joe

Thanks for the info. For some reason 21 stuck in my mind as the total number. Again thanks for you estimation. Just another reason why I am glad I never changed the color of my GT.
Thanks again.

Automatic coupe, originally black, gray interior, solid roof. I bought it 3 years ago and am the 4th owner, it's never been with an owner outside of the DFW metroplex. Alive and well at 156,000 miles.
What I'd like to know is what number coupe it is, you'd think there'd be a sequencial model list somewhere
Got one more for you that you might not have, but the vin's not handy... will list it tomorrow.

Red with grey interior Black lace wheels 5 speed No sunroof or t top No power options A/C Wing 108,000 miles (about 5,000 on crate engine) (included in the $400 deal)
Current status parked, not registered or insured. Getting a repaint, recent work included replacing a toasted Getrag and getting the engine back to running order. Bought last summer for $400 from a transmission shop. Needs tires.
1G2PE11R9JP212587
Base coupe
4 cylinder, automatic Burgundy metallic, tan interior A/C No power options No sunroof or t tops No wing
About 110,000 miles, original engine and transmission
I got this one 2 years ago in San Mateo (south of San Francisco) for $800, drove it home to Reno. Has had the obligatory 4 cyl tuneup still stumbles and stalls sometimes. Changed the 14 inch factory wheels for a nice set of Black lace 15's . New throttle body. Changed out the notchback for an 87 GT clip, rear fascia, wiring, tail lights, etc. It's claim to fame is that in the big snow of winter 05 (3-4 feet at one time) it survived having a carport collapse on it. Looks fast-kinda drives like a little boat, tho. Current status--needs tires insured, but tags are lapsed.
My other Fiero, daily driver, is an 86 SE V6.
Sometimes I think I need a court appointed guardian!

Amber- I don't kow if it's possible to tell you what number Coupe it is. It is the 24167 car out of 26401 made in 88.On an even distribution, yours would be the 12733 of 13910 Coupes made in 1988.
Brian- I have 1- 85GT, 3--87SEs and a Coupe, 2-88 Coupes and a Formula. I KNOW I need one.
Thanks on behalf of John and the 88DB.

Hey, I'm new to the forum but I thought I'd give you my info... if you haven't got it already. I bought my yellow '88 from Fast Fieros last July. It's a 4cyl/5spd, VIN 1G2PE11ROJP217838, light grey interior, notchie. It's got power locks, cruise, sunroof, and AC. It wasn't running when I bought it, but silentassassin and I trailered it home, spent some money, did some work, and now it's my daily driver. Hope the info helps...

Lots of new info since my last post, so forgive me if I miss anyone.
dezzys88GT, thanks for the roof and auto info, that's just what I needed.
gtjeff, ooooh, you got another new one there, and a little Yellow booger too, congrats. To be complete, can you tell me the wheel color (almost certainly Black) and the roof type? Many Thanks.
Fierobruiser, Thanks for responding timely to this thread, and thanks also for your continued support. Bruce has been one of the most prolific and accurate contributors to the database, and without him there would be many more holes in the records. Keep up the good work Sir!
fullcircle, I had only the exterior color on your car, and now you've given me all the rest of the information. Thanks and good luck with your almost new car.
pumpkin, you actually sent me your info back on 3/18/2005, 1 year ago to the day! How's that for consistency? As Fierobruiser said, there is no master list telling us which number coupe this was, but it had to be one of the last 1000 or so.
Brian Lamberts, your first car is completely new to me, and it sounds like one of those impossible to find bargains that you hear about. Congrats on what sounds like a steal. Your second car was noted on ebay back in 2004, for sale in San Mateo as you mentioned. You got another good deal on that one. Sounds like you're going to corner the market on steals out there. Thanks for all the info.
Daniel, BOTH of those cars are new ones, and you gave me all the info I need to put them in the database. Thanks, and enjoy your cars when the snow melts, if not sooner.
watts, this too is another new one, thanks for the info and don't worry at all about the ALDL date, I'm sure you'll have some reason to go in there in the next 5 or 10 years, which is fine by me.
Ultimate, yes, this is another new one, what brought all you Canadians out of the woodwork with new cars?! Thanks for sending the car's info.
PontiacFiero, Yup, another new one, hope you can get it titled and back on the road. I know a good mechanic in Huntsville if you need some assistance....
OldTalbot, Congrats on your new Yellow coupe. Glad to hear it wound up alive and well. Thanks for the info on a car I had only the exterior color on.
ammotrup, this is ANOTHER new one to the database. Thanks for the info, can you also give me the rim colors, or is it unknown due to the kit installation? Sounds like a well cared for Fiero.
Thank You All for the continued support of the 88 Database Project. I'll enter in all this info and see what all this does to the percentages I've quoted back on page 1.

Thanks 88White3.4GT, this is another new car to the database. That's all the info I need to add your car to the database. I've ridden in a friends 3.4 car, that's a nice step up from the 2.8. I hope you enjoy yours as much as he does.

shredd, I had only the barest of info on your car, the fact that it is a Med Red Metallic Ttop. Thanks for filling in all the missing pieces.
OldTalbot, I also had some data on both your cars, but you filled in the gaps as well. I had the first one from a 2001 ebay auction, Lipscomb Mitsubishi in Springfield MO had it for sale. The second car was from a 2002 autotrader ad, for a Joplin MO dealer, D & J Auto sales. How about that?
carolinajoe, I had some info from 1999 on the first car, but now I have the full listing, and I'll move this one from the "alive and well" column to the "dead" column. The second one is completely new, and thanks for the good info on both.
Fiero1Fan, this is a completely new one for me, great to get another one from Deutchland. Do you have any feel for how many are over there? Thanks for your help in getting info on the cars over there.
fierogirls-mom, as with OldTalbot's cars, I had some of the info on your cars, but you filled in all the missing pieces of information, so good job.
Thanks everyone, we're closing in on having 1/6th of the 88 production run documented in some form or fashion. Not sure that we'll get to the 1/5th point, but I'd like to think so.
Say Oldtalbot, in checking the previous info, I had your first car, (your daughters coupe, #6619) as having a 5 spd. You have it as an automatic, can you please confirm the transmission type? Thanks!
Carolinajoe, the first car you listed was previously listed as black. I know it's probably long since been crushed at the junkyard, but do you think it might have been a repaint? And the second car, which is a new one for the database, is listed by you as being white. But, it's smack dab in the middle of a run of red cars. Any chance you might know if was really red under a coat of white paint?
