Sounds like some people want to meet at the F&H instead of Texas S.H.
Anyone planning on going to the meet should post your preference in this thread so we can see where everyone wants to go.

Ok, if that many people are coming, I'm bringing blank name tags and everyone is going to wear them. I've met some of these folks over the years, but there seem to be a bunch of relatively new fiero owners. I'm not trying to make it sound like I'm an old guy, but I've had my fiero since '97 and first met some of the Tarheel Fiero guys back in 2000 I think.

Anyway, does anyone have a problem with wearing a name tag with maybe your real name and your PFF name?

Edit: I'm not nearly as old as Jack. That guy has been around a while. Ha.

Would be wonderful to have you along! I will post an address on here, so you should be able to punch it into Mapquest.com .

MGdriver: Alot of the people comming are poeple that aren't on the forum like us, but drive and love fiero's. I've invited 3 people who have never heard of the Tarheel Fiero club before, and they live right here in winston salem.

Hang on, I'll get the address.
I'll also go be Chili's tomorrow and talk to them about it, I know they don't take reservations, but I might convence them that enough people are coming to sway them into keeping a couple of tables open for us (If a couple of tables is big enough lol).

I agree.... Jack has us all

The only problem I have with this is I went by Fox and Hound today and the picture you took of the parking lot was across a gas station that was taken down, you made it look worse then it is. Also the parking lot is free of any mud, truck, and other building equipment. Besided your first picture is not the entrance of the Fox and Hound, nice way to sway people with bad photos, or do I need to take them?

I am sorry to be an ******* about it, but show the truth and do not over inflate a situation to move our meets to anohter location.
Just does not make sense. Besides for the guys that live in Winston Salem, do you think we would not know?

Not cool.
Besides, one last note, we have some members on here, that have been a part of the Fiero clubs for a long time, I think I would ask them before taking a TarHeel meet and changing it on them, no wonder members are dropping out of this meet. Most like to be asked instead of being "directed" to another location. The Fox and Hound was a meeting place for the reason of location on 40 easy for all members.

Be a team player and not someone who has a better solution, from what I am seeing here, most Tarheel members are not showing up.
Each member I speak of has traveled to Raleigh for shows, meets or just to have fun, they also travel the distance to do the same for the Winston boys, respect those who come before you and you will have friends on the Fiero clubs.

I respect LZeitgeist and Formula88 and others, before I make changes to an idea or meeting I place out there ideas before calling, email people to your idea.

I would not be surprised if they did not show like I am not. Besides, if your family does not want to show up at our meeting place, then so be it, not a reason for us to change.

I am going to pass, so is Fast85SE

I will wait for the Fox and Hound and support our local resturant who has supported us. Sorry guys, we will not be there.
I will await, LZeitgeist, Formula88, Flyntus, myself (rverhalen), Fast86SE and others for their opinion, but by the way this thread has gone or is going, I decline. For obvious reasons.

Take Care,

The people we have talked to we have offered up several options of restraunts so its just not up and hey lets not go there and give other choices. The biggest thing i see drawing to fox and hound is the bar atmosphere for the older fiero owners no offense intended. I really could care less where we meet I just want to have a good time with some fiero owners and at a good location where we get good visibility and show the public not all these cars burn to the ground.

Now if a simple change of location is going to make you not come just because someone wants to try someplace new is going to destroy this group I am sorry but damn where is your versatility. What if all of a sudden fox and hound was gone would you be upset and decide no more meets because the usual place is no longer there? I doubt it. Why does it have to always be at the same place?

I am already thinking this summer june we have something in Raleigh, July something up towards the mountains, and august somewhere in south carolina. Then September we will be back in Charlotte for the Auto Fair. So come on let us try something new and if it doesnt work the future winston meets will be at fox and hound no other suggestions made and us young kids who want to try some new ideas will shut up and leave the "tarheel fieros" alone.

NO FREAKIN WAY, there is a Salisbury Fiero Club?

Hey guys I'll eat anything, anywhere just to hang out with fellow Fiero owners.

I just want to be a part of any event, but it sounds to me like Chilis is the place.
Oh and whoever is over the Salisbury Feiro Club, or whoever has info, PLEASE PM ME ASAP.

You are an amazing young child. You speak so highly of yourself and what you can do, so proud of you. Is that the reason you wanted me to put in your electric windows for you? Must have been….

I have given you a radio for free that you wanted to sell for $100.00 dollars on this board, I gave you lots of misc. parts for free, and that included switches for your windows. I am amazed at how little you respect others as long as it serves your purpose.

Anyway I will be calling you and I will talk to you face to face, I will stand behind my words and actions. When you grow up and can afford to speak as you do then I will listen. This group that you speak of was formed to promote Fiero’s long before you got excited about them. Yes, I do have many interests but I can afford each and every one of them. Even my son, who’s car is completed now had it longer then you have had yours, yes he worked on his with me, and yes, he paid me back every penny that was spent on it.
I respect my son for doing so, can you say the same thing? That builds character, builds respect for your car and the people that got you there.

I do not see you being humble, I see an arrogant child.

The picture you took is at the entrance of the of the old BP gas station period, and you know it, it was not the entrance to the parking lot of the Fox and Hound, then when you showed the parking lot it was empty, my God son grow up. You come on this board and act like a grown up, speaking words on wisdom, pissing off regulars and acting like you are better then most.

Facts
You have never been to a local show, supporting events (Car shows)
You have never been to Greensboro supporting the local Tarheels (Car shows)
You have never been to Raleigh supporting their events (Car shows)
You have never been to Charlotte supporting their events (Motor speedway)

What support have you given to the Fiero car clubs and the people in them?.

You have been to one meet at the fox and hound with your father

This is not all over a restaurant, my God wake up. In your thread it has been in three locations so far, you have never polled the people to see where they are coming from, nor did you think of the distance that people have to drive, nor the time frame of events surrounding the meet. That is why you pissed off people! Then they made comments back to you early in the thread. You just did not get it. Nor do you get it now.

And you talk like this to adults, you have a lot to learn, You know where I live and you are welcome to come over here and speak to me like that in person, bring your father and let him see how you speak to adults, now I understand you and your ways. You father must be a proud man of his son, treating and acting like you do. You could have taken this offline “like an adult”, but you treated this like a child. So that is why I am responding here. Not in the same manor as you have, but the truth.

Your right, I will not be at YOUR meet, since I am not 17 and growing up on the outside only. You also need to grow up in the inside.

I think you should apologize too many on this board, from Myself to Formula88 and others, I know, I have received emails from a few that are wondering about your actions.

Now address the above in an adult manor and show the people of PFF that you can.
You have just made a complete ass out of yourself here. I for one will not stand for dealing with a child. Respect people, maybe they will respect you.

Until then, you have just made more enemies then friends here. Have your father call me and we can discuss it, at least he is an adult.

I am still wondering who you are trying to impress here. I feel many are wondering the same thing. Son, you have just shone your true colors. Plain and simple.

Robert Ver Halen

One last note for you

Check out this thread and tell me who asked for a meet to be posted and get one going in the last few weeks...

Hmmm, I re-read the whole thread, and you can see for yourself, Formula88 asked for it, then myself and you chimed in
for a meet at the Fox & Hound.

How little we forget what we say!

https://www.fiero.nl/forum/Forum1/HTML/057123.html

Re-read it again and get your lies straight.

I guess I am the only one that remembers, but lies seem to flow so fast from you we accept them.

I am done with this thread now. Point given. Facts are facts.

Okay, I know I have absolutely no stake in this discussion because I had never planned on driving 4+ hours on a Sunday to have lunch, but here is one Fiero owner's thoughts... take if for what it is worth.

I can remember being 16 and having a fight with a neighborhood bully. He got the best of me, then his mother came out and said something negative to me. I can hardly remember what it was, but I remember calling her a b*tch. She said she was going to talk with my mom. I really did not care because I felt she deserved it and I was sure my mom would agree. I made it home before Mrs. X made it to the house. I told my mom what happened and waited for Mrs X to come over. After Mrs X arrived and told my mom what had happened, I was SHOCKED when my mom told me to apologize. My pride got the better of me and I refused. My mom apologized to her for my behavior, and after Mrs. X left, I got the worst whooping that I could remember... then dad came home and I got another. After dad got done he took me to Mrs X's home and I apologized.

The lesson I took from that was that no matter what I thought I had to respect adults. I can clearly rememebr that right before each stroke of the belt I heard words like "you know better, I taught you better, why do you think you can get away with that", and so on.

Was I justified in calling her a name.. probably, but was it the right thing to do? I knew after my dad got done with me, no.

Now do not take this as saying the someone needs to be taken to the wood shed, I am only saying that sometimes it's better to rememebr that those that are a bit older might be wrong in your opinion (or they might not). But be respectful in the way you deal with others, even if you disagree. You do not have to like what they say at all, but not agreeing is okay. It makes the world an interesting place.

Paul,

I find it interesting that you have deleted every one of your posts. Then act like nothing has happened.

To my friends that I have known over the years, sorry for speaking my mind in public but I have listened long enough to him and the problems. Most of you know that I do not voice my opinion in matters such as this, but the time has come.

Per Paul I called him this morning to find out what his issues were, yes Paul’s father and I spoke, I told Paul and his father that he needed to respect “PEOPLE” who have helped his son during the short time that he has owned his car. From free parts to support and advice.

I think that is the problem that most young people have, wanting it all in a short period of time, not respecting the ones that came before them and wanting the fast track.

Reasons for my distaste of this,

• You have irritated my friends
• Changed the location three times 1) Fox & Hound 2) Texas Road House 3) Chili’s
• Lied about it being your idea in public when it was Formula88’s (Per the thread listed above, then disrespected him in public)
• Made the Fox & Hound look undesirable with pictures that were not the truth
• Have attacked me in public
• Then you want me to smile and forget what you have started.

I for one have given you a negative and I would not be surprised if others did the same. I also would be amazed if you even showed up to any meet after the verbal abuse you slung last night via the web.

You have some serious growing up to do. And thank you all that have supported me via emails during Paul’s out burst. Nice to know who your true friends are.

Once you pay your dues Paul and respect others, they may welcome you in to our hobby of love. But at this point I wonder if they will.

Aerosmith, I am not mad at you nor will I be. We are friends and will continue to be.

One last note, you posted "Sorry to make you mad Robet"

What was I suppose to be after being verbally abused by you and your post here last night, that you now have taken
offline to hide your true personality.

At least I stand behind what I say in public and in private, you should also. Get your facts straight before opening your mouth
next time, children think before they speak.

I think at this point we need to rework a lot of this and try to still make it work even if it involves changing all the details and even the date push it back into march a week and just let all the nerves calm and hold it in another portion of the state then try winston again at a later time.

I have had a very interesting day today. First thing this morning I got a call from Mr. Verhalen. He was very excited about this thread and I listened to him for quite some time. So I decided to read it for myself... very interesting.

As you know it all started because a few people wanted to get together for a Fiero meet. I've been to one meet before. Here in Winston over at the Fox and Hound (F&H). If I remember correctly, about 8 people came including Paul & I. It was interesting to see the make up of the group. Mostly older gentlemen and a few ladies who shared a love of Fieros. We spent most of the time inside the F&H eating and drinking and socializing. After people started to leave someone joked that maybe we should go out and look at the cars before they all leave. That seemed strange to me but I went with the flow. I thought that the main reason for the Fiero meet was to look at the cars and swap ideas etc. Anyway....

After reading the thread and thinking about it. It's clear that there are two trains of thought going on here. The young guys want to meet and show off their cars at a highly visible place and the older guys want to get together and drink beer.

The thing that everyone should understand is that, you both need each other (believe it or not!). The younger guys need the older guys because there is still a lot that they can teach them, and the older guys need the younger guys because they have the enthusiasm and willingness to work to get things done. The problem is that NEITHER group respects the other. The older guys just want to get together and swap war stories and the younger guys just want to get together and look at each others cars. In order for the "Club" to continue, you need both. In order for this thing to continue and thrive, consideration has to be given to "How can we make this event worthwhile, in order to attract the most people".

I would like to acknowledge all the work that people like formula88 (please include everyone else, I just don't know the names) have done in the past to encourage the enthusiasm for the Fiero. That's great. But you have to also think about the effort that these younger guys have put into getting the word out and inviting a lot of people to come. You see these younger guys don't realize that the F&H is your favorite watering hole. :-) To them it's just another restaurant. They also don't understand that some of you guys are friends with the owner. After this mornings phone call I went by there on my way to work and talked with the manager. I wanted to check out the parking lot myself.

Please keep in mind what the guy from Charlotte said. They wanted to show off their cars to as many people as possible, to show them that not all of the Cars burned to the ground. After seeing the new Chick-Fil-A that is built in front of the F&H, I agree that the Mall area would be a better place. The Chick-Fil-A blocks the view from I-40. The F&H is tucked away on the lower level of the shopping center and does not have high visibility or traffic. It gets down to this, what is the main purpose of the event? To have a car meet, or to drink beer?

Finally, after reading this thread I'm reminded why I don't frequent internet forums in the first place. They often turn in to pissing contests. One thing is for certain, I have read a lot of Childish bullshit by many of the participants on both sides of the aisle. I think there's a lot of growing up that needs to be done by all. The sad part is that this meet could have been one of the best meets in a long time. Now it's probably over because some supposedly adults got their feelings hurt. My suggestion is that the young guys meet at Chili's and show off their cars while the old guys meet at F&H and drink beer. That way everyone can do what they want to do. If you're really into Fieros join the Carolina Fiero Club. If you're really into beer, join the Tarheel Fiero Club. Simple!

One more thing. I noticed that a lot of the posts were made around 2:00 am in the morning. Only one thing comes to mind. You really need to "Get a Life".

If you are thinking about replying to this post, save your typing. I will neither see it nor read it. After I post this I'm outta here-- never to return. I bid you farewell.
