It'll have to be the second half of the month for me - I'll be moving (knock on wood) the first two weeks of the month.

Agreed, give me a date after the 12th and I'll put it on my calander at work not to be called in, please set a date so that I can do this. I'm VERY game.

Mabye Miss Tress could join us? Tinton, Sonic50 too far away? I'll bring a close friend of mine. Please let me know, I'll be watching the thread.

BTW has anyone been by the Fox and Hound lately? They are building a Chick-fil-a ringht in front of it, the whole place is a gaint dirt pit, there is stuff everywhere, and the fox and hound is now hiddin behind the work site. It wouldn't be the best place to meet in IMHO, first of the cars would get red mud all over them, secondly no one would be able to even see the cars since the place is now hidden.

If it were me I'd plan it somewhere else, someplace open so that people can see the cars and someplace clean and beautiful. I'll give it some thought and post places I think would be better. I am being honest when I say the the Fox and Hound is litterally a mud pit.

Ok here it is:

O'Charlies
Olive Garden
Chilies

All of these are in an open parkinglot (AN OPEN PARKINGLOT) right in front of the mall. They're on the main strip, the cars could all be lined up in a row, and the food is excelent, + we could all see the cars from the windows inside

Let me throw up an aerial photo.

Ok, there they are. I circled the resturaunts and the potential parking spots. The mall is right off of I-40, so it will be a good place for all to find, the parking will be unlimited. Also there are about 20 times more people going by these resturaunts than the Fox an hound. I really think these places would be better to eat at. Oh and they just opened a texas road house too.

We could also take the opportunity to have a meeting in another city, if people are interested.
We haven't had one in Raleigh in a while. Would anyone be interested?
I know that's a bit of a drive for people West of Winston-Salem, though.

I know a great place we could meet, and it's right on the main highway coming into Raleigh.
Blinco's Restaurant. It's my living room away from home.

They closed last June, but are reopening in a new, larger location on U.S. 70 (Glenwood Ave.) this Friday. They have lots of meeting space, so there should be plenty of room for everyone. The parking lot isn't as big as Hane's Mall, but it is right on the highway, so it's easy to see coming into town.

I can post pics and a map if anyone's interested.

Just me I guess but I'd just rather have one at the mall, more attention I guess.

Yeah, it HAS been a while since we've had one in Raleigh... seems like we used to rotate these get-togethers through the state...

I'll meet you at Blinco's, F88 - maybe others will join us.

Dude why are you being like that? No one was trying to squash your oppinion! There is a good point though that the charlotte ppl will have to go even farther (almost 2 hours farther), and for what? so that you can just skip accross the road or because your in the mood for what they're serving at the place in Raliegh??? We can work this out! Please try to cooperate!

Ok so you'd like to meet in raleigh... what does everyone else think?

What is what? We used to rotate the meetings from W-S, Greensboro, Raleigh, etc. I believe we've had at least one or two near Hickory and Concord - not to mention the 2 at Horsepower Motors - you know, in CHARLOTTE.

Sorry, but if just the idea of a Raleigh meet is shot down that fast, I'm not interested. You're giving me crap for wanting to meet in Raleigh "and for what? so that you can just skip accross the road or because your in the mood for what they're serving at the place in Raliegh??? " You've got some nerve. The meets have been coming to you in Winston for a while now. I thought I'd share a place that I enjoy with my friends. But I'm gonna get shot down, and then take attitidue from you about it? Bullshiat.

Hey John,
Pull panties from butt crack. Yes, we've had several meetings in the Charlotte and Winston areas in the past. I can't remember the last time I've seen you or your car leave Raleigh for an impromptu meeting like this.

Anyway, back to the topic at hand. I'm trying to get my car to a frame shop this week so I can bring it. I would vote to meet in Winston-Salem. I'll have to DRIVE to Winston-Salem from Concord. Sheesh.

Would love for you to make it Matthew. A bit sketchy for now, but it's looking like the 26th, is the Texas road house ok for you?

I would prefer Chilis. We can all park on the side of the restaurant facing the Michael's.

Ok, we'll see, but we are going to have to set a deffinate location soon so that we can start planning it at that spot.

I just had lunch at the Fox and Hound a day or two ago, no mud! And the the place you are talking about is off to the side, not in front of Fox and Hound. I parked IZA TOY right at the front with no mud anywhere.

They put the building behind where we used to park. Not blocking F&H at all.....?

The building is almost done, and most that know me know that I would not drive IZATOY in the mud.

Fox and Hound is still available

Well, you're not paying attention then, are ya? There hasn't been a single meeting in W-S that we've missed. Hell, we've led at least one caravan from Raleigh to get there - usually it's just John and me bringing the Formulas, since some weekends, Dad's not up to traveling much. I even remember one at the NASCAR Cafe in, if I recall correctly, Greensboro. John couldn't make that one due to family business, if I recall correctly - it had nothing to do with the locale.

Hell, I'm just gonnma skip it this time around. This used to be an 'inclusive' thing. It used to be for as many Fiero owners as we could attract. Times apparently change.

Then you don't have much of a memory. Ask Gary, Bob, Jack, or Robert if I've been to any of the Winston-Salem meets.

Look, I wasn't trying to make a big deal out of this. I like the F&H and Winston-Salem is a good location for many in the state. But as I said we haven't had one in Raleigh in a long time and thought I'd share a place I'm fond of since our regular W-S meeting place may not be available. When this was immediately shot down, I bowed out and that would have been the end of it, but then I start getting attitude about it.

Sorry, but I'm not playing that game. I don't appreciate people giving me crap and acting like I'm being selfish and lazy because I want to have a meeting in my city, while they're sitting in Winston Salem where the majority of meets have come to them.

I've been active with Tarheel Fieros for 5 years. I actually went to my first meeting - in Cary, the same week I bought my Formula. That was back when Hoop, Bob, and Lisa came out on fairly regular occasions.

Now, aerosmithr0cker comes along and decides we aren't organized enough for him and decides to form Carolina Fieros. Cool. I'm all for getting more people involved. New blood. New ideas. He even talks about having meets at various locations, but so far the only ones he's had are the two at his place, Horsepower Motors in Charlotte. I didn't make the Charlotte meetings because it's 3.5 hours each way for me. I didn't feel like driving 7 hours for lunch. That's one reason for moving the locale around - because not everyone is going to travel to every location. I know there are Raleigh people who haven't gone to a meet in W-S, but would love to attend a meeting. Heck, we even had one of our meets in Rockingham because there was ONE person there who wanted to attend but couldn't make the out of town meetings.

So, if you guys want to have the meeting in Winston-Salem, or Timbuktu, that's ok. What is not ok is to give me grief for making an alternate suggestion.

You guys go ahead and enjoy the meet in Winston. I'm not interested in trying to draw people away from the meeting there to have a competing meeting in Raleigh.

I have to agree with Formula 88 and LZeitgeist, they have been to almost every meeting, shows etc. They do stand up when it comes to doing the Fiero meets. Maybe we can meet in Burlington or another place. I know I am not stuck to Winston Salem.
The fun comes from driving the cars and being with others who share the hobby.

Let's put the knifes down and come to a logical solution.

We all are friends

Well, to minimize the drama (too late, I know), the Feb. meet should be in Winston. If there's a future meet somewhere else, we'll figure that out then.

I am with RWF in that Raleigh is too far. I will go to W-S or Charlotte. When was the last time any Raleigh guys came to Hickory? I have been to Raleigh several times but it is just too far just to eat lunch. I really enjoy getting together with ALL you guys. I think a couple of you young'ns have a chip on your shoulder and being childish. This is the attitude that kills car clubs and get-to-gathers. I am with Matt and say lets go to Brevard. There are some good twisties up there and I know Rick knows where they are.

Just like to say that I am willing to drive anywhere. I think the meetings should be spread around to be fair to everyone. That said I will probally be unable to make it since I have to work that night. If the meeting is in Winston, I may be able to come for a little while.
