I think ill find a way to mount it next year and get more footage.
At the Rally Through the Valley this year, stimpy made a pretty good video of the run by getting a cheap cam corder tripod from Walmart, closing up the legs, and sticking it between the passengers seat and the center console. It stayed in place fine and looked perfectly out the front or back window. There's some pretty cool shots of pokey and I chasing him. Nothing fancy, but it came out well.

I have an interesting CCR aftermath story here. On the run kit pointed out that I had a nail in my front left tire but it wasnt leaking so it was no worries. Today I get up and my roomate says to me, "hey man you better get some air in that tire!" so naturally I said, "Oh so the front left leaking now? Damn"............"no the right rear!"........Gah! well, enough said I dont think ill be making it to the GGF meeting tonight. I have to figure out what Im going to do with all the other plans I have tonight as well sheesh.

I know how it goes with the meetings. I have a class tuesday nights and its a once a week class, so I kinda have to show up. Had one like that last semester too. Just don't get to make many meetings.

Oh and I was going to ask you, I went to the sing up page for the coast run...and there is a place where youre supposed to be able to view pics form the last two runs...but I can't see them... is there any way those can be visible again or is it just my computer?

I never did relink those two links to the pictures from the previous years. Since the Run is over it is time to redo the site anyway. I'll be doing that probably next week and I will try to link all of the pictures from all years.
I'm going to leave the Coast Run merchandise up for about another month so anyone who wants anything can get it. After that I will just put custom stuff up there with graphics of individual cars as people want.

Man It has been a few days now and I'm having serious withdrawls!!! I wanna open the door in the morning and find myself in San Simeon on a perfect sat morning and see 30 Fieros lined up ready to hit the coast road at insane speeds.Trust me folks it is a sad state of affairs when you can barely define fantasy from reality and when you do you decide the fantasy is much better place to live. Lets all just show up next weekend like we got missed up what weekend we were supposed to go ..ok?

You have the Fiero disease! The world is doomed if it spreads at this rate. Do you know what car you're getting yet? Should be ready in time for the Rally Through The Valley at the end of April, yeah?

If I were her, I'd have my eye on that black 88GT T-Top Dale keeps saying he's gonna get rid of.

I do! I caught it on the run! Yeah I think I'm getting a car from Tinay. Dale said its a 87GT burgundy with silver trim on bottom. Ive seen pics! so pretty! just needs new front end but Dale said John might fix it for me. Soon as it's done, Dale's gonna go get it and I'll be sittin pretty! I'd love to go to the rally!
I've got some pictures of the car I am giving her somewhere. It is a car that I bought about a year ago up near San Ramon or somewhere. I had it taken down to Spddy's shop to get it fixed. It's sitting behind a bunch of concrete forms right now so we can't get it out to work on it (hint hint). It is a great little car. Medium red metallic 87 GT with grey interior, 5-speed, about 80k on it. Near mint right up until the time the original owner nosed it into the back of her husband's bulldozer. But other than that the car looks brand new.
There is someone on the forum who has already started making plans for the T-top. He's gonna come take it for a test drive within the next week or so. I do love the car and hate to get rid of it but it just sits there all lonely...
You know, the East Coast guys always end up doing the RFTHs over just for fun. No reason we can't do the Coast Run again too! I'm ready!

*smiles innocently* I'm going home this weekend, and coming back up to Monterey next weekend... and I was already planning on taking Highway 1 on the way back...

We drove from San simion to salinas via the hardest curviest and these days the worst kept road in california and it didn't seem half as long as when I drove back on 101. 101 to Salinas seemed to take forever. Just goes to show how time really flies when your having fun. The drive on the coast probably took over four hours one way I really don't know it seemed to whiz by in a blink. Fieros are a time machine to be sure. We should get are own show on VH1s "I love the eighties"

Are we talking about a day trip or an over-nighter? Obviously there will not be a raffle or catered dinner this time, but the Run Redo sounds fun. Marie and I think that this time we should finally make it to The Cannery and eat at Bubba Gump's!
Every ya'll are serious about this, start throwing weekends out and I will talk to Manish about room rates if needed.

I am serious. next weekend looks bad because of thanksgiving and the week after is WCF party and I don't know what day it is.If it is a sunday then maybe a saterday trip would be nice. I believe the next weekend after that is the fiero xmas party.
light bulb ok I am really sure that WCF party is sat the 3rd. so maybe that sunday the 4th would be cool. For me anyway I could hit it on the way back.I could just drop my car off in Paso Robles on the way down and have john leave me there sometime early sun morning or sat night.Or even hitch a ride with some one from LA area that would want to make a quik coast run. Damn who else wants to go so we can narrow down some dates?
Hey yall- Dales daughter here...He said to let ya know we wont be available the weekend of Dec 16th. Our family is leavin for Georgia for christmas and we wont be back in town til the 24th.

We're getting back from GA just in time for ole Santy Clause to bring us some goodies. It won't be good for us till after the new year but if you guys can't wait, go ahead.
On another note, I'm finally getting the Reatta back tomorrow. They called me last week to come get it and I told them to keep it until it was done right. They called Friday and said it was redone but I didn't get the message till after they were closed. We'll see tomorrow if they got it right this time.
Dale, Be sure to post pics of the reatta when you get it back to let us all see how good it looks. I would definitely be up for another coast run soon, did anybody see the thread about Sonic50 rolling his car off a cliff and it catching on fire

Yeah, I saw that. That is exactly the kind of thing I always worry about on the Coast Run. There is no room for that kind of mistake when there are no trees to stop your rolling car. If that happens on the Coast Run you are just dead in the Pacific.
I read that too. That’s terrible about that guys car but good that he made it out alive and in one piece. I like speed but I think I’ll be taking the time to enjoy the scenery on the next run. I’d like to keep my self and my car out of the ocean.
BTW—Pokey…had a chance to pour any concrete lately? Just curious

1. How about getting together all the Coast Runners again sometime after the holidays (Just cuz). 2. Getting together to take videos riding up the coast. So that we can make DVD's of our run. 3. Have lunch at Bubba Gumps and take more videos maybe at the 17 mile drive. 4. And have breakfast the next day at Morro Bay before we head home.
Like I said just a thought. Give us your 2 cents on this ya all................

That works for me, Jess. And since you and Patti didn't make breakfast, we need to do that again anyway. I'm all of a slow go with video. We were supposed to shoot video this time but got screwed up with the cameras and brought the wrong adaptors.

We normally do the desert run to Palm Springs in January. I wonder if it would be warm enough in San Simeon?
