and it was an 87GT i figured it was easier to be on top of the car removing the suspension, cradle and gas tank VS laying under the car, so i cut the top off and flipped it over (the wife helped me, it wasnt really that heavy, probibly coulda done it myself
i thought people gave you wierd looks when you had 3 fieros sitting in your driveway, but they REALLY give you wierd looks when one is upside down and your standing on it ripping the gas tank out of it

the neibor guy just chuckles and shakes his head, the car will be gone monday night, and its not like i have a junk yard, this has only neen here a week, so its not like my house is an eyesore, its actually oneof the nicer ones in the neighborhood
i was thinking the same thing. actually. i am willing to bet there is an ordinance you are violating. there are safety reasons junk yards are not allowed to store cars like this. i can not imagine your public driveway would be exempt. are there any children on your street? might not want to leave it out like that. you could get slapped with a fine, or a lawsuit if some kid gets injured or killed messing around with it. if i were a neighbor, i would have called the city already.
don't get me wrong, i think its a good idea for dismantling, but it probably would have been funnier and far less tacky if you had done it in your garage.

I'm sure glad I don't have neighbors like you, I'd be measuring your grass and calling code enforcement the second it went over the limit, and calling code on everything else I could find on you every chance I got. Hehehe... what goes around comes around...I think they call that Karma.
ok, don't be such a "back in the swamp woods okie" and its a deal... maybe legal problems are second nature to you, but others might not enjoy it as much as you.

Lot of good people live in and come from Oklahoma, perhaps a different state, or better yet, a better country reference would be in order? LOL!

dude. dont be an idiot. if a child were to injur his or herself seriously, or not so seriously. there are a pack of lawyers just waiting to take your home from you in court. i am not exagerating even a little bit. and if i still had small children still and had my neighbor across the street with something like that in his driveway, i would be concerned, as would most caring parents.
you assume i am some sort of home owners a$$ just because i shared with $rich$ the very legal risk he has in his driveway? go screw yourself man, i was showing concern in my post not ridicule.
i never spoke down to him, i expressed concern, and perhaps the potential for an accident. Children see something like that and imediately want to explore, and that is how every dangerous and possibly expensive accidents happen.
you talk about karma? how about a person getting killed because you had some pile of crap in front of your house because you thought it was funny. if you dont want safety laws that protect us and our children, then move out of the United States and try a country like Mexico.
P.S. $rich$ i did not mean any of this post to be aimed at you, i understand you seem to have a better attitude than Jazzman about what you have in your driveway.

I was born in Oklahoma City and graduated from Frederick Douglass High. thanks for the compliment. I think i can throw the term "okie" around all i like. its a term used for a state of mind or attitude, you have to earn it, you aren't born with it
It just takes one prick driving by,and then before you know it...Certified letter.. I live on 4 acres, and never ever have cars looking like that here, and have been cornered twice in the last two years...You feel so violated,It is you property(and you seem to have been pretty responsible about it),but there is ALLWAYS someone that needs to play deputy dog in the area,so look out.... I had pulled a motor from an 87 GT,and left it in the driveway, for 2 days..First letter, and a$$-kissing meeting with the town.... Then this spring,I had four of my cars covered beside the garage, next visit with thew town, more a$$ kissing to keep MY own cars....Seems I am running an "Auot sales and repair shop...." Gimme a break...... Rich,It sucks, because you are doing what you want to do,and having fun,but just remember, there is allways someone that won't like it.... -Mark

Here's what you said that got me to respond the way I did: "if i were a neighbor, i would have called the city already."
And that's all I have to say about that...
Back to the regularly scheduled programming. $Rich$, I'm glad that you've got good neighbors, they're what makes a neighborhood worth living in.
You should take a lot of reference pictures of the bottom of the car, it's not too often that an opportunity comes up like this.

look, its not a question of it being your property or not. the laws are such that even if someone tresspasses on your property, if they injur them selves while tresspassing on your property. you are 100% liable. it sucks, but it is the current law. That is why city's started making ordinances to prevent what they deem could be a potential for such an accident. it sounds petty, but so are lawyers, and they bog the courts down with this kind of crap.
10 years ago or so where i live, there was a gentleman who owned a property about 30 miles from my neighborhood that he only came to for the summer. it kept getting broken into and vandalized, it was costing him 10's of thousands of dollars. the police would do little to investigate it. well, after the 4rth or 5th breakin he decided to rig boobytraps "Inside" the home so if someone broke through a window again, they would recieve a hinged axe to the gut.
well, it worked. the 3 highschoolers came back in the middle of the night, broke in and the boy who went through first got the axe to his chest and died right there in the window.
the home owner was charged with manslaughter and was found guilty. and he was never reimbursed for any of the damage cause by the kids. assanine, but this is what happens, the ones who tresspass, and tamper with your things can and usually will sue you when they injur themselves.
whatever. im done with this

Ya know, sharing info with $rich$ was polite, but saying stuff like this if i were a neighbor, i would have called the city already. is not, If your such the enforcer for safety of children, how about taking your vulgarity to email, no matter what Jazzman said, I believe his response WAS in reply to your threat that if you were $rich$ neighbor you would have called a code enforcer, does not give you the right to say what you said to him.
FYI some people with run programs that speak messages outloud, and im sure there are those with kids.

Hey Roland... I agree that you need to be safe, and respectful fo all your neighbors.Even if I lived on half an acre,or 200 acres.I know what you are saying. My thing is,I am a responsible person,I take care of my home, and I love my fiero hobby.
But it gets my goat when someone else assumes there is something else going on,and has to make a mountain out of a molehill out of it. My real gripe is the lack of guts to simply stop by and talk to me if they have any concerns, you know? What ever happened to talking to someone about things? However,I would really refrain form the "car flipping". That will raise more than a few eyebrows(even mine...) But,If I have a fiero in the air(you know how we take out engine cradles out),in my driveway,i don't need the entire town sending me a letter of panic, because some blow-hard ran right to code enforcement with a tall tale of junkyard/chopshop mayhem going on in my yard.. I'm not beating up on Roland,Or Rich, just that if Roland thinks it waould be outta line in his part of town,he should ask questions before he runs to the law,and Rich should be aware of potential complications of such a thing,Hell I've been in the frying pan for alot less....

Rigging your house with axes with the intention to kill somebody who broke in is A LOT different than having a car in your driveway, no matter what its orientation is... Also, my parents are building a new house in Buffalo. Right now, it's nothing more than a foundation and basement walls, but it's completely open. By your rationale, if a child were to climb up onto one of the walls, and fall and smash his head on the footer, my parents would be responsible simply because they own the land? Is this true? Do you see the discrepancy?
Edit: I have another question... After looking at the pictures again, how does a child get hurt on that anyhow? it's a 3ft. drop on either side, so the youngest kid that can even climb up that would be about 7 or 8, and 3ft. is certainly not going to kill them...

Your parents would more than likely not be responsible, however the builder could face a lawsuit. That is one of the reasons they have insurance.

Alright, that seemed a little sketchy to me... Didn't make too much sense. I figured it wouldn't be my parent's fault, cause we're 50 minutes away and aren't in charge of the construction site, the contracting company is.
