dude. dont be an idiot. if a child were to injur his or herself seriously, or not so seriously. there are a pack of lawyers just waiting to take your home from you in court. i am not exagerating even a little bit. and if i still had small children still and had my neighbor across the street with something like that in his driveway, i would be concerned, as would most caring parents.
you assume i am some sort of home owners a$$ just because i shared with $rich$ the very legal risk he has in his driveway? go screw yourself man, i was showing concern in my post not ridicule.
i never spoke down to him, i expressed concern, and perhaps the potential for an accident. Children see something like that and imediately want to explore, and that is how every dangerous and possibly expensive accidents happen.
you talk about karma? how about a person getting killed because you had some pile of crap in front of your house because you thought it was funny. if you dont want safety laws that protect us and our children, then move out of the United States and try a country like Mexico.
P.S. $rich$ i did not mean any of this post to be aimed at you, i understand you seem to have a better attitude than Jazzman about what you have in your driveway.
I don't know what happened to my original post....but short version was that parents need to be responsible for knowing where their children are - then these accidents wouldn't happen! Those parents who let their kids roam free are the first to scream lawsuit! I see it everyday in my job as a paralegal. I wish the laws would change to prevent trespassers from recovering and holding parents responsible when their children are places they shouldn't be.

Geeze, I hope I don't have any nosey cranky neighbors like it sounds like some could be like as this is what my place looks like on any given day:
The neighbor right next to me is also into cars and he and I have some great conversations at times when we are both out working on our cars at the same time

With all the sensitivity about people trespassing and getting hurt I hope no one sneaks onto our abandoned farm site back in South Dakota. There are a couple of old cars just sitting waiting to grab someone. Those mean ole junk cars. http://waynesphotoes.homestead.com/cars.html
P.S. The neighbors have been told they could shoot anyone found there without permission (just kidding of course)

Thought I would throw in my 2 cents if anyone cares. ROLAND makes a point with the law suits. Of course, it's not your fault. It does seem that parents have quit parenting at times. I would have never ventured into a neighbors yard when I was a child because I knew it wasn't right. My friends didn't either. We played in our own yards, the beach or parks. We didn't go poking into other peoples property no matter how interesting their stuff was. However, the point was made that the parents that don't do their job raising their kids are the first ones to sue. I digress, throw a tarp over it. Is that satisfactory ROLAND? Or would you still call the city on A FELLOW FIERO OWNER before you consulted him (he said it would only be there for a couple days)?
I guess I just don't understand how a car upside down can be dangerous? I mean what can really happen to anyone? But I guess people dont take care of their kids and they could walk over there and mess with it and get hurt, but if you are out there working on it, shouldn't be any problem. I guess just be careful, never know which neighbor is going to try and ruin your day, they are out there, no doubt!

Back when I lived in Aberdeen, SD (I see a pattern here) there was an auto parts store with an upside down car in it's parking lot. Painted on the side was "Will your battery turn your car over?" I thought it was clever. It was there all winter.

I don't see how that could be dangerous, in fact would it not be safer than a car that is on its wheels? You see... now that it is flipped over, you do not have to worry about it accidently rolling down the driveway and into a kid, its just a flat surface now with a wheel on each corner.
Even if a kid were to approach it, whats he gonna do? Start finding every sharp object he can find and start rubbing a body part on it? Perhaps jump up and down on it a couple times (very doubtful).
Its cool to look at but theres nothing special about it, nor interesting to start touching.

Well here, all those cars in the grass would all be towed by the city, Ive even gotten tickets for vehicles in my private parking lot that had flat tires for over 24 hours. Cops and zoning enforcement here are real pains. They even had a house in the neighborhood thats 5 years old, owners moved out and been vacant for a few years that the city was going to auction off but owner wouldnt let them. The city ended up bulldozing it down.

Long story but after buying the car from you I went to rip into it and the frame was VERY rusty. Nothing to build on so I sold it to a guy and he took the engine out (I kept the Getreg - Dang thats a good tranny) . He sold it back to me for almost nothing, Sold it to another kid who wanted to back out on the deal because it was going to take a lot of work. I told him this before he bought it but he still wanted to give the car back. I was OK about this because I knew I could part the thing out and get a lot more money and I know the kid and wanted to help him out. Then ole $Richj$ begged and pleaded for the car so it ended up in his possesion. He told me he was going to fix it up, and make it a show car. Just kidding. Man what a history for this car in the last couple months.
