(I'm guessing that CoolBlue's Formula also has an "8UC" spring to go with the "9UC".)

In terms of the springs, (6RD and 7RD, and 8UC and 9UC) the numeric is replaced with an "A" (front) or a "P"(rear), when referring to codes pretty much anywhere but the RPO sticker.
IOW, you could have ARB, ARC, or ARD front springs and PUB, PUC, or PUD rear springs

Where I'm going with this is...

The coupe has PUD (the heaviest) rear springs.
The Formula only has PUC (mid-range) rear springs.

Both of them have ARD (the heaviest) front springs.

It would be interesting to see which cars, with which options, had heavier or lighter springs. I'm sure that GM had some rhyme or reason to their spring selection, but I sure can't figure out what it is.

Hmmmm...

Here's the info on my 88 coupe.
1G2PE11RXJP219760
119,310 miles
Exterior Black
Interior Grey
Auto Tranny
Car is dead right now, but I plan on bringing it back to life with a SBC.
I can't read the ALDL, it looks like it starts with 03/24.

Here's one I raided in the junkyard:

Bright red '88 coupe, 4-cyl, automatic, sunroof, grey interior, no power options. Built 7-88.

1G2PE11RXJP226336

EDITED to add this one I didn't notice the first time around:

Black '88 coupe, 4-cyl, automatic, sunroof, grey interior, has rear defogger, ALDL sticker says 11-2-87; door sticker says 12-87.

1G2PE11R1JP211546 Someone has swapped a new right front fender onto it; and it had a replacement driver's seat (with headrest speakers!)

I hate to kick up an old thread but I have a new entry to add and I have seen a couple of others mentioning wanting to add to this list. I got an 88 Formula a couple of weeks ago. 1G2PE1195JP206480 Still alive and kicking sunroof 5 speed black rims. Red in color. Im going to be doing some interior work shortly and I will edit this post to reflect the date shown on the harness.

{EDIT} Got the build date and it is 8/10/87 I didnt have to even take anything apart the previous owner put it behind the drivers seat instead of the norm.

{EDIT} This car now resides at the Fiero Factory looking for a new home.
