Yes Shawn, I do have all the info on your car, see you at the Dells and remind me there to show you how far I am on the book I've been working on. VINTAGEZ, thanks for getting back to me I emailed you before checking the forum here, that you said "You had no t-top car shown" Sorry.

Vintagez, You have inspired me to get the packages done for some of my other Fieros. When I get home (I'm in Chicago right now), I will send you the VIN#s along with $45 each. You have a red 88GT w/18k? Sounds sweet. What options/interior color?
About the yellow Canadian GTs: I have been searching for one for 10+ years and have only found two (including Mickey Mooses). I want one dammit- Where are the other 18????

So....? Is there a way to find out how many like mine were made? I contacted GM and only got the 3000+ 5 sps and the 3000+ autos ( not a big help, considering I waited almost a week after giving all the info to someone on their end) If I give my info to someone here, can you help with the numbers......
rrobinson-my 88gt is an auto with no sunroof,cruise or air, but everything else .Code 66 interior.not having seen any winters it is so nice to find that very few of the bolts are rusted when you work on it.I ordered the new cooling vents from Ken Hines at Kahines , and put in a 180 stat and cooling fan swith from Rodney D, look forward to having some fun with it next year.My other toy is a 73 Camaro z from California that I drove back to Canada. A common question that we get at work is how many cars were built like mine? Unfortunately GM usually can track only one option at a time, sometimes 2, but no way to run all options to see how many exactly like it were built.

I remember hearing a rumor that some 88's came equipped with a factory car alarm. I'd imagine that would be pretty rare unless it's nothing more than a myth.
ive got one of those in my 87 GT. Its called GM Goodwrench Vehicle Security System: VSS-100. Ive got the siren under my hood and all the paperwork, but i cant find anything else pertaining to it. anyone know anything about this??

A lot of these things being mentioned sound more like dealer-installed options, not factory-available options.
Hell, if I was buying a new car from a dealer, and I told him I'd buy the car only if he installed a big shiny red button in the middle of the dash that said "EJECT", I bet dollars to doughnuts that I'd be owning a car with the rare 'Eject Button Option'.
Dealers could theoretically add ANYTHING available at the time of sale, and technically, it'd be a 'dealer-installed option'. Doesn't mean it's worth a hill of beans that way...
What's the rarest factory-installed option?
If the urban legends are true, there were probably a couple 84's that left the factory with the engine shade, and maybe a couple 88's that might have had the electro-assist power steering. In my book, those would count... dealer-installed options wouldn't.
But then, the original question wasn't mine, so it doesn't much matter what I think 'would count' or not...

RR
There's one here in Newfoundland with less than 1500 km on it...or it might be less than 1000 km. Can't remember off top
User JAMIE on the forum, don't think he's been here for a long time now.
We also have one - yes, one - blue 87 GT here in town. It has the luggage rack option.
Fiero John-WI - mrfiero once told me that the TTops were not an option in Canada due to not meeting our safety standards. There are a couple of Fieros here that have them installed though. Never been able to catch up with the owners though.
vintagez - welcome, and thanks for the great info!
On the speaker seats - my first Fiero was an 85 coupe with the radio delete option. The seats had no speakers and I never found wiring. They did have the holes though.
On the black trunk carpet - my current Fiero, which I bought from the original owner's son is an 85 sport coupe. It has black trunk carpet and the tan interior. I trust that this it's all original because the car has only just broken 40k miles and seems as if it was pretty well looked after since 1985.
Cheers, Andrew

I did a Google search, found this;
The VSS 100 is a basic alarm system that will activate the vehicle horn or optional siren. When the ignition is turned off, the starter is locked out and the system is armed. Disarm the system by turning the ignition on and pressing a hidden button.
And from another site;
VSS 100 (economical) starter kill lockout hooks up to vehicle horn convenient alarm bypass switch Optional: 125 decibel waterproof siren, lite touch adjustable shock sensor, light flasher, keypad.

Well I have only a few items on the car that are not factory installed: CD player (from 98 Sunfire), power mirrors (from 86 Fiero) and leather seats (from 88 Fiero GT). Everything else is listing in the documentation that I have from GM.
I have also added the front compartment light and switch - the wiring was there (tuck up inside the harness - looked like it was taped with the factory tape as well), but have to install the switch, bulb and bracket for the bulb...

For the trivia fans out there, based on total Canadian sales figures, our data books show the rarest options to be: 1984 Fiero Sport model 2PM37 - 9 with AM radio code UL6; 1985 GT - 105 with Tan Leather interior code 643; 1986 GT - 5 with rear carrier code V58; 1987 GT - 12 with Light Saddle Leather interior code 622; 1988 GT - 20 in color Bright Yellow code 53. Total Fiero sales in Canada for all models were approximately 11,000 units in 1984, 7,000 units in 1985, 6,000 units in 1986, 3,000 units in 1987 and a total of 730 units in 1988. Unfortunately it is easy to see the decline in sales. Hope this is of interest.
My 1984 Fiero Sport Coupe, originally came with the AM/FM only radio (UL9), but was replaced with a GM AM/FM Casette.
Mine also had no block heater, black trunk carpet. Plus I have all light grey seats, not 2-tone, and with no stripe down it.

Try White wheels on white 88 GT's I saw one GT like that at the 1999 FOCOA Show in Columbus OH. The guy said that they only came on a hand full of white GT's and white GT's only.

I have a Canadian built 86SE black with no spoiler or luggage racks, grey cloth interior, gt guages (oil, battery), tilt, pm, pw, pdl, ptr (power trunk release), a/c, sunroof, with an am/fm/tape deck, delay wipers, cruise and it also has the double paddal horn and a rear defroster and a 180km/h speedo. It is also a 3 spd auto. is any of that rare?
im not really sure..im slowly building the car up though...it just broke 180,000km
