Was wondering, what was the rarest option one could order for the Fiero ?

(By rarest, I mean selected the least, aka, not on many cars)

My guess is : KO5 Heater, engine block

Also saw somthing about a lock for the fuel door ? Not sure that existed.

(NN7 Fuel filter door, delete lock )

Anyone have an idea what this was ? D42 Engine Compartment Screen (84) ?

Also found a site that claims these paint codes were available ?

22 Lt. Sapphire Blue Metallic
27 Med. Sapphire Blue Metallic

(23 Bt. Blue Metallic is the valid blue I know of)

Any ideas ?

I think the D42 was the engine sun shade. If I remember right, when the decklid was open, you could pull a fabric shade down from the lid and clip it into place by the trunk. As far as I know, it was an 84 only option, and I've never seen one in person. I have a picture of it somewhere, I'll post it if I can find it.

I would imagine you're right, that KO5 option would be pretty scarce.

Electric power steering. IMS, there were something like three cars sold with this option.

Howabout a luggage rack on a fastback?

that would be V58 (for the 86 GTs) and V56 (for 87 - 88 GTs).

actually just for the record, other than mine, I have seen one GT in Toronto with a luggage rack and I only remember seeing one other one with a luggage rack at the 20th. I've never seen any pics of Fastbacks with a luggage rack other than pics of my own.

I had an 88cpe with no Tilt. Until I added it! It was really a PITA to get in/out with no tilt. Even my striped down base model 84 came with tilt. I have no idea why my 88 with AC didnt!

Radio delete still came with the stock crappy speakers and wiring. Although I did hear something floating around here about a seat with the speakers in the headrest missing.

In 1992, I bought an 85 SE V6. It had the holes in the headrest for the speakers, but no speakers inside. The seats had no wiring harness either.

Id guess either the electric PS myself. I saw a black GT at a show once that had newspaper and magazine literature displayed with it that it was one of a few with an OEM turbo V6. It wasnt clear whether that was supposed to be Factory or Dealer installed, but it was listed on window sticker when sold new. I saw the sticker. Im thinking it was probably the original dealerships aftermarket install before they sold it.

Gotta go with Steve on this one. The EHPS was the rarest option.

Another rare item worth mentioning is the Lumbar seat in the 88.

I've only seen one car in the wrecking yard with the Block Heater. Then again I live in California

The optional paint colors were planned for but never impemented in 84. I have some literature that actually shows the samples with projected availability dates that never eventuated.

that front engine option's pretty rare lol
Hellfish87GT has a fastback with a luggage rack but yeah they are pretty rare.
What about the Fiero Luggage? I guess it wasn't really an option but you could buy it at the dealership right? I dont think many people ever bought the Fiero luggage

i was about to say, u guys forgetting the window defroster??? lol my 88 had a rear window defroster but never fogged up or got frosted anyways the only way to make it work was you had to have you front window defroster on, there was no other button for the rear window defrost lol

my fiero also had the 3.5 speakers in the headrest!! but i guess cause the previous owner installed them.

And i notice something weird about fieros, mine came with the radio equalizer but my 4x10's speakers were 10ohm speakers, and paper cone and foam surrounds!! pretty amazing for equalizer stereo.

As far as I know the engine cover shade never made production. I have seen all the options that have been mentioned but for this one. The sheep wool seats are very rare and even more rare in good conditon today.
The high mileage option on the 1984 coupe that was to get 50 mph with gearing that would hardly pull the car from a stop.I don't know the option number but recall being told they only made a few. [less than 10?].
Also rear defoggers in Ohio are a dime a dozen, I see quite a few here. They definitly an option that was never used.
The export option is one our friends from Canada see often but in the states they are rare. The only diffrence is a metric dash. How many have seen a 180km/h speedo in the states?

I live in the frozen tundra near Duluth, MN and have seen quite a few with the block heater . I never checked the codes to see whether it was factory installed or not. I have also seen quite a few Fieros around here with the rear windows defogger. In someone wants one there is a Fiero at Chesney's Auto Salvage near Duluth, MN. There is also an 85 SE there with a V-6 still intact. Also a decent SE nose and rear fascia. They have scrapped quite a few of there Fieros thoough in the last year or so...

I saw an 88 GT with factory installed driving lights. The defrost switch had to be deleted to allow the factory driving light switch in its place.

Is the K05 Heater, Engine Block a block heater? If this is so then that is definetly not a rare option is it? I've almost never seen a fiero without it.
