Below is a list of those that I have as being pre-registered as of 12:00 noon today (06/14) - - all 42 of them.
There are only 3 Ladies on this list, and they are CHALLENGING any Lady drivers out there to enter. If there are enough ladies (10 or so) we will have an all Ladies heat for you.
If anybody feels they have signed up, but are missing from this list, please contact me at gryan3@mindspring.com .
Within a week or so, a mailing list of these individuals will be put together. Updates and information about the event, the track, and little useful tidbits of info about running track days will be sent out weekly for the last 4 weeks prior to the Track Day.

My friend, Brian Geyer, wants to help at the track as an instructor. Does he need to sign up as the rest of us, or are instructors considered volunteers?

Brian Geyer registered and paid over a month ago (see list above - they are listed in the order that i received their entries).
After he registered and paid, he then contacted me and volunteered his services. He has been in contact with Alan Hamilton (our chief instructor - also paid and registered), and since these guys know each other and race together they have all the details worked out.
But thanks for your support.

Interesting - - I wasn't aware of that - I wasn't a member of FCOA in 1995. (I guess that is why). Because of my close proximity more than anything else, I was a member of FOA out of TX in 1995 - - -
Anyway, I like that design. Who can I contact if I want to plagarize it a little??
Thanks for setting me straight - I was aware that FCOA had lapping days at various tracks, but I never heard of them (or anybody else) having an all-out track day. Could you give me more info in a PM?
How many Fieros participated in 1995? Insurance and track rental was a lot cheaper then - - my break even with no amenities is about $3500 to $4000. I will need at least 50 entries, and that would be for a no-frills event. To provide T-shirts, a lunch, and mementos I will have to have 65 entries.
Of course, I could also have this as a lapping day under Solo insurance for about half the cost, but it is a lot less than half the fun! Solo hot lapping is not even close to High Speed Touring. We will probably have 15 to 20 cars out there all at once.
Anyway, I'm rambling. Thanks for your input, Old Lar.

You KNOW you want to do it. You KNOW it. So just sign up.

I'm not much of a race car driver but what the heck. As long as someone tells Fred that this is NOT a Go-Kart track & Archie is not wearing a Target on his shirt.
Now where is that link to the sign-up page?

If I count correctly, we now have 46! (I am assuming that Frank on his last post ment he was signing up). I am up for pitching in money to help buy up the last 4 spots. Hey George, could we do that? I would hate to stop just 4 people short!
Come on everybody! Tell your friends! Tell your neighbors!
Can we still have it George?! Pleeeeaaaaaassssee!

It is about 6:00AM on the 15th, and as of this moment there have been 47 completed registrations received . I haven't talked to our treasurer in a couple days to see how many of those are paid, but I should know that sometime today.
I also know that there are 2 in addition that have e-mailed and said that their entries were in the mail, plus Archie said he would be registering in his message above. Being the optimist that I am, I am going to count those 3 - and that makes the magic number of 50 with all the rest of today to go!
So, all that being said, here's my pledge to you. Unless something drastic happens between now and then, Waterford is happening. We still want/need more entries, but there are enough pre-paid to make it a go. Why do I say I need more entries, you ask?
Because there are several unpaid entries, and I would be willing to bet that some of those never do cough up the $. Plus, with this many people involved, there will be those that have something happen to prevent them from coming - I say that because life goes on and s$%t happens.
So, let's shoot for another 10 - 15 entries just to keep things on an even keel. Talk it up, and let's see if we can't do make it happen. With that many more, we will be able to provide a lunch for the competitors, and T-shirts will be included. Without the additional entries, lunch and the shirts will have to an extra charge.
The first of the weekly Waterford mailings will go out in the next few days, so watch for it.

Why? On the website, you said it just takes 30 hours to do. Me, My hired man, Chris, Sandi....that's 4 of us, divided by 30, 8 hours each? Heck, that's not even a long day.

That would be for a simple carbed V-8 swap. And you can't really reduce it very much by throwing multiple people at it because there there are only so many things that can be done at the same time. That time also doesn't include test driving & flogging time.
Besides, I'm sure someone as Detail minded as you are could easily spend 30 hours cleaning & painting the parts involved.
Besides, everyone takes at least 10 hours second guessing the kit design.
Take a look at Chester's swap, I'm sure he has like 35 hours into his.

Believe it or not, I *AM* actually consdidering it. I haven't looked for the source of the high oil consumption (all external and easy avenues have been exhausted and the only thing left is internal) and I'm not sure I want to put any money into the 3.4L. One thing I have on my side is my shop and, once I get harvest out of the way in about 2 weeks, I can work on it 24/7 if I want.
Remember, Archie, I did tell you about that aluminum Milodon block I had left over from the boat racing days...I think that might fit (but I probably couldn't get it built up in time to put in).

Rob, did you happen to do any sound testing, or you're just getting a muffler anyway?
Nashco/Bryce- I dropped my car off at the shop for the muffler on Friday night... but not before taking some quick sound measurements!
I had the car in a very harsh acoustic location. On black asphalt, there were brick/block buildings to the front and within 20ft to the left of the car, to the right and behind the car is a chainlink fence with heavy slats in them. It was overcast with probably a 5-6k foot ceiling (temp around 72 degrees, approximately 9:15pm)
Anyway, I stood approximately 25-30 feet behind the car with the meter. With the car revving up to about 4k rpm, I was getting pretty steady readings of around 80-83db.
So, if you were to include even the smallest of sound barrier in there, you'd be well within the 75db range. So no worries!

No need to worry Archie, I am bringing enough tires and rope to keep the side of the car getting scratched up. I have an image to uphold. Are you bringing your target T-Shirt or are we going to have another made up for this event?
This high speed touring is a blast. George might have trouble getting us off the track.

Thanks a TON Rob, that gives me a warm gooshy feeling (that's a good thing!) inside knowing I don't have to spend any money on exhaust. I'm ordering my tires tonight; by the end of the month I'll have them on, the rebuilt tranny in, my a/c working again, and a wideband O2 sensor installed (with the dynotuner hopefully)...so the less money I have to spend the better!! I can't thank you enough, that was really cool for you to do that.
