Heres mine. It was originally an 85 GT model. I bought the Indy decals off eBay, used a 4 cyl engine (lost the air cleaner) from a 4 banger Fiero parts model, and painted it....
Originally was this..

I turned it into this...

I've built a couple of the kits.

I also built an Indy out of the Monogram 85 GT kit.

Here is the MPC notch back kit.

Wow -- you guys (and a girlfriend) do some great work! T-top Fiero - how'd you do the authentic 84 decklid on the Monogram 85 GT?

Here's a link to pics of four Fiero models I've built (84 Coupe, 84 IMSA, 85 GT, 87 GT).

And now, back to lurk mode.

I did a little kit bashing on that one. I had an extra decklid from an 84 MPC kit. I cut off the center grilled portion and put it on the decklid of the 85 GT. The MPC Fiero kits are 1/25 scale and the 85 GT kit is 1/24 scale, so I had to do a little resizing of the center grill to get it to fit properly.
BTW your models look great.

You may be lucky and find one in a hobby shop if they carry old kits.
The best place to find them is on eBay. That is where i got most of mine.

(Well now's as good a time as any)
FREE Indy Fiero decals!

Just print on decal paper! I've printed them out and they look great if you're at least a foot away, any closer and you can almost make out the pixels. White parts aren't actually white, but a very light grey so they can be used with normal printers (only ALPS printers use white ink). I haven't had a chance to test them yet, but as soon as I find an '85 GT model...

And as soon as I get a camera I'll take pictures of my '84 model and post them.

well, i made some advancements on my model tonight. Ive been slowly putting this thing together because i dont have the body painted and im kinda scared to paint it for fear of looking like crap. I got my dad for X-mas a little model painting airbrush set to go with his chevelle model i got him, comes with a bruch, regulator, cup and propellant can. I guess ill see how his works out and maybe ill try it on my model

Anyhoo. I have an 84 MPC coupe/IMSA model im just building as a coupe because i have no experience blending in the IMSA panels. I got a 1/25 scale 283 smallblock chevy kit off e-bay. I planned to make it the blown version but found that the blower was a pitvon crank moutn blower, so i made modifications using fiero 4-cyl parts and such to make his a regular style blower. I painted the cradle black and painted the tranny silver. I cut away some of the tranny mount so i could move the tranny over some to clear the long engine. I still had to cut a little notch on the frame on the tranny side. But this wasnt enough so i had to take out a BIG chunk of frame on the drivers side so the pully's would clear. I cut out some of the pass side side engine grill and cut out a big chunk of the decklid but still am not finished with that. nowhere near done but looks cool. Also made a roll bar for the interior

GTFiero1, I'm sorry, but I can't sell the finished 87 GT -- it took me about 30 hours to build, and it would probably get damaged in shipping. But I do have the same model, unbuilt and complete, that I'd sell for $25 + whatever shipping mode you wanted to pay for. Email me at cmankins@columbus.rr.com if you're interested.

The closest approximation I could find to the 87 blue is two coats of Testors "Colors by Boyd" True Blue Pearl #52906 over one coat of Testors Silver #1246.

I finally got around to scanning pics of my Fiero model! The first picture is really bad quality, taken with a disposable camera, you can't even see the black molding on the fenders! It's modeled after a stock '84 Coupe

Here it is at a model show I was at. The other front 8 models are mine, too.

And the parts to the Indy Fiero I'm building, and the V6 I'm going to replace with a 'duke when I find another Fiero model.
