It's been a while since I used Cliff's PIP - let's see if I remember how. This should be an 87 GT with front and rear compartment lids open. https://www.fiero.nl/fieroforum.pip
ChadMan, did you do the work on the miniGT's yourself? they look very realistic! of course, for better authenticity... you could leave the right headlight in the permanent up position... just kidding!

Chadman That's some nice work!! I like the 85 GT because it looks like my 86SE which is also black. When you grow up and stop playing with toys you can send that one to me Where do you buy them? What is the prices of some of the models? I always see them on e-bay but I'm not up on the prices and don't want to be ripped off.
I lovw the black GT. I looked for models in a local kit store and they didn't have any. I did see an old red hotwheels fiero 2m4 with an american flag on it so I bought both of them for $5. I need a model of an 88 Formula. If anyone knows of one I'll buy it.

Look on e-bay, you will be almost certain to find a model built, or all im peices and in the box rdy to be built. I was on there the other day and seen around 30 models on there.
Thanks for all the kind words! I built these myself - they take anywhere from 20-40 hours each, depending on what level of detail you want to include. I'll post pix of my 84 Coupe model and 84 IMSA GTU tomorrow.
You can find unbuilt Fiero models on eBay or at toy/model shows. Expect to pay around $20 for a complete unbuilt model in the original box - more than $25 is a flat-out ripoff.
Sadly, no toy company ever made a model of the 87-88 Coupe/Formula body style.

Excellent craftsmanship and attention to detail. You learn a lot building models. I have the same two cars, only difference is my 87GT has a wing. Amazing interior on the 85GT. Built many models over the years, never built a fiero. who manufactured the two respective kits? Coy
Thanks, Coy. The black 85 GT was made by Monogram. It's 1/24 scale and was reissued a couple of years ago, so it's not too hard to find.
The blue 87 GT was made by MPC. It's got more detail (such as opening front compartment lid) but isn't cast quite as nicely and is a little harder to build.

Hey, ChadMan. Looks like we've got (at least) one other thing in common:
I have the two (MPC and Monogram) Fiero kits but have yet to build them (still trying to master my paint finish skills). I'll give you three guesses as to which other "plastic-bodied" two-seater I hold close to my heart!!!
In case anyone has further interest in the scale model hobby, I've provided this link to a site that's dedicated to model Corvettes (I contribute to it regularly - when I'm not working on my full-scale plastic-bodied counterpart):
A friend of mine is extremely into star trek. He is so much that in high school the symbol \/ (star trek uniform symbol) was synonimous with his name. Yes he even turned in work that way. When he got into college (GMI Electrical Engineering) he spent many hours building a model of the enterprise using over 1000 fiber optic cables. He ran one to each window and then powered them off of a couple of LED's. That to me was dedication! Or he is nuts... did I mention that he keeps the date in terms of stardate?

The 85 GT is Monogram model number 2242. You can use this to build an 85 GT or an 86-87 SE. You can even use it to build an Indy Pace Car by installing the 2.5 Iron Duke that comes with any of the MPC models (though it won't be totally accurate because of the humped deck lid). There's a guy who makes 1/24 scale Pace Car decals and sells them on eBay and I've been meaning to pick up a set.
