That reminds me - if you get into town early enough on Friday, I suggest you go to the gate and get your paperwork then. It can get VERY busy at the gate on Saturday morning!

I'm planning on bringing the pro street down there. I don't know if it'll be finished though. (I've hit a few snags) As for the go-kart, that's an entirely different project. The chassis manufacturer won't return my calls after promising me he would be able to build a frame for me. Now I'm looking into building a frame from scratch, but that won't happen until the pro street is done.

Great! Looking forward to seeing it there!

Looks like 2 more from Toronto will be coming down for the fun. Me and a fellow GTA member wil be coming down for the show, I just need some info on it now? I've got the direction to Carlisle, need direction around it, cost for registration too.
Gonna bring up the idea at the next GTA meeting, see if we can get a group to go down together.

Great! I'd like to personally extend an invitation to them all, and everyone else who likes Fieros.
Speaking of which, this year we will honor the club with the largest number of members present. I guess to be fair, we should not count MAFOA, though.

I live in Carlisle so I can probably help easier than anyone. This weekend, I will take a tour of all of the local motels, bed and breakfast, hotels in Carlisle and get their rate and availability information (save everyone a little time on the phone). I am signing a contract at the Clarion Hotel (not the cheapest, but one of the better places in town) this afternoon for 10 rooms for that weekend (with 4 people per room, its about $50/person for both nights - 17/18 May). I'll post more information this weekend when I get it.

FYI - I called the Clarion in Carlisle - they are waiting for the contract to be signed to secure the room rate that Denny got, so until then we cannot book rooms. I have put mine, 88Formula's, and Chester's names in (plus respective significant others) as being there "come hell or high water" in advance.

Give me until 1PM. I am signing the Clarion contract on my way home from Harrisburg this afternoon. After that, you can get in the block. If the 10 rooms get reserved, there are more available at the Clarion (we just need to extend the block under the same contract).

Let's give credit where it's due . . . Haagster is graciously making the Clarion arrangements, and we're thankful.
Don, either Bob or I will be in touch about this "contract." (?????)

I signed a contract with the Clarion this afternoon for 10 rooms on 17/18 May. If we need more, the Clarion can expand the block without much effort. Now, you should be able to get reservations (just be sure to mention MAFOA or reservation #4922).
Instead of hangng with my "Lotus" friends on Friday I plan on being there Saturday with my Fiero. I'm looking forward to seeing all of these classics at one place and one time. Geez, I guess this means I'll have to polish my wheels again.

There are a limited number of rooms left in the Carlisle hotels/motels. It just so happens that Dickinson College is holding their commencement ceremony that weekend, so many of the rooms are being reserved for that (as if they wont be going to the car show too). Motel 6 / Super 8 / Days Inn are all booked solid or overbooked. Ramada Limited has a very limited number of rooms available (at around $80/night - surprisingly the best rate). EconoLodge has rooms available (>25) at $85(1 bed) and $95(2 bed) per night. Everything else is right around $100 per night, and they are not really anxious to offer discounts on the rates because they know that the rooms will sell out with 2 major activities in town. The Clarion contract has been signed for 10 rooms (reservation #4922 or MAFOA) and (as it turns out) is not a bad deal for lodging. BUT our agreement obligates us to get the 10 rooms reserved (limited number of additional rooms are available if needed) by April 17th (when the Clarion will give the rooms to someone else - they expect to sell out too). What does all of this mean??? It would be a good idea to make your reservations as soon as possible if you want to stay in the immediate area during the Carlisle show.
Others with rooms available: Holiday Inn ($135/night - 2 night minimum) - Best Western ($112.99/night) - Rodeway Inn ($95 and $105/night) - Quality Inn (>50 rooms available) ($119/night) - Appalacian Motor Inn (not recommended - staff with poor attitude)
And this should bump to the top...

I hate to say it but it looks like I'm not going to be able to make it. Way too much going on with the wedding reception that day. But, I want to wish everyone luck and I'm hoping for good weather and a good time for everyone.

At 11:09PM (yes in the middle of the night), I called the Clarion hotel and asked if the reservation number (4922) was valid for the Mid Atlantic Fiero Owners, and the guy checked the computer and confirmed that it was there. Why you are having a problem... I don't know. I am going to talk to Dave Stewart tomorrow to try to find out where the snafu is occuring and fix it.

Blackie2m6 had called the Clarion about this tonite, and they said they were booked solid for the Carlisle weekend. It was the Clarion that recommended the Ramada.
BTW Skitime, what night were you camping at the grounds?, was it friday or saturday nite, or both?

Looks like another trip to the Clarion... I'm going to have to start bringing my own sand.

I had 15 rooms blocked for MAFOA. If there are only two left, I'll talk to the sales manager about more rooms (he told me on Friday afternoon that there were 20 (plus or minus) other rooms available that he may be able to assign.
