I still plan to attend, but will make a final decision when I check the "WX" early Saturday morning. I *may* just leave later if things clear up. Spending the night would be doubtful....I have a 0' sleeping bag, but it still wouldn't be fun!

AAFO MEMBER CALL!!!!!!

Ok, unless they predict FREEZING RAIN, I will be making this inaugrial event. Cold I can handle, rain makes me grumpy due to the fact it requires that I clean the inside of my wheels afterwards, but Freezing Rain and this southern boy dont mix. Its not my driving that Im so concerned with, but all those other folks out there! Due to the fact that all forecasts dont call for freezing temps until Sunday AM, Saturday is still on for ME! How about all the other AAFO folks out there?
ROAD TRIP....RAIN OR SHINE!!!!!

As far as "spending the night" is concerned, the campsite is approved for 8 people.

I have 3.

I will set up my enclosed, partially heated 10'wX10'lX6'5"h E-Z-Up Fri. eve. It will stay up 'til Sun. noon.

Should anyone decide that they would rather stay FREE in it instead of a screened shelter, it would seem sensible to me! Just be sure you bring whatever bedding is required.

Parking is another issue. Each site is allowed 2 vehicles plus the R.V. This is filled. Extra parking, I understand, is nearby.

For any one who does not want to experience the true "camping" experience, visit the NTFC web site http://www.ntfc.org/index2.htm

I'm coming. Rain will just slow me down. I love cold - it can't get too cold for me. Gonna try to be at the park around 10:30 Saturday morning.

I was only planning on going for Saturday anyway. I've got a prior engagement for Friday night. I'll make a go/no go decision late Friday night. Hopefully I'll see you there!

I'll be at the Bill Miller's by 8am. Hope they let us build an open fire. That'll help us keep warm!!!
By the way, I have the road rally maps w/ instructions and a copy of the menu from Carlos'n Charlie's on Lake Travis! Rain will take some of the fun (read speed) out of it, though!

I think it will still be enjoyable to meet everyone rain or shine cold or hot!
I think the cabins are more than "just screens".
I would say if you have a small elec. heater for the cabin bring it!

Don't worry about the cars, no= must have pics! others= cars, shine or no shine welcome(shiner is always welcome in 6 packs)lol

I will have a sign in sheet. so look for it.

Josh, if you would stop going to the track so much maybe one of the Fieros would be runing! lol

This will be MY last post till the gathering so,
IF any one has a break down en route, please call me (512)775-2283 and I will try to get help to ya!

Smooth , Sorry you cannot make it. I had some ideas to talk about with ya, I guess it will wait. stay warm and ....snooze ya lose!heh

Cheever, Don't be grumpy, the sun WILL come out.(I hope)

LT1, rock on dude! we will be there !

LOKI ??????????????

I have a Black(Primer) and red Fiero GT.

The LamboBuilder.com guy (Dale Van Blokland) is Southwest of Austin. Here is what he told me...
"Mapquest link is http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?country=US&address=13612+copper+hills+dr&city=manchaca&state=tx&zipcode=78652&homesubmit.x=41&homesubmit.y=13
I would need to know at least an hour before you plan on arriving."

For those who haven't departed yet, Van Blokland's place is 15.69 miles from McKinney Falls State Park. MapBlast says it takes 27 minutes.

An early note on the Weekend Get Together:

We had 12 Fieros on Saturday and all joined in the road rally. Representation was largely from Dallas, Houston, Austin, and San Antonio areas. The day started off cold, but turned out to be a great day for cruising. Carlos'n Charlies took good care of us at lunchtime. I think everyone had fun . We turned a lot of heads everywhere we went! Today's agenda is the show n' shine (less the shine!). Will number 13 show up? I hope the day warms up and the wind slows down! Revin and RedHaze sure pulled it off. Let's make a reunion at the 4/13/02 Fiero Roundup 6 in San Antonio!!!
