JohnF and family along with Loki will be at McKinney Park Friday March 1st sometime around or shortly after 2pm. Anyone wishing to Join them for dinner, please contact JohnF via PM.
As for Saturday, March 2nd. It would be advised that everyone gets to McKinney park at they're earliest convenience. perferably before 10:30am. (I don't even know if I'll be able to make it that early considering I'm driving 2 and a half hours or more myself)
Those from the San Antonio area. I'm having to change the meeting time at Bill Millers(1604@281) to before 8:30am so we can leave at around 9. I know that some will not be able to make this early and I appologize for the change.
I need to know who WILL be meeting us at Bill Millers, so please notify me in this regard. That way we will know if and when everyone will be at Bill Millers or maybe we'll have to wait a few more minutes for anyone running late.
McKinney Park ~ Hopefully everyone will be there by 10:30am. Some of us will be leaving on a couple hour cruise at 11am during wich the cruise will stop for lunch at a restraunt to be picked enroute. Some people have expressed a lack of intrest in the cruise due to the fact that they'll be driving for so long in one day. For those people we'll be having a hot dog and bar-b-que lunch at McKinney and I'm sure we'll have things on hand for entertainment.
The Cruise should be returning around or before 3pm. 4pm at the latest. After which time we'll proceed to "settling" into our campsites and relaxing with various entertainment until 7pm at which time we'll start the pot luck dinner, either at the dining Hall if we can lock this down (someone already has it resrved but we're second on the list if they back out) or possibly at JohnF's RV.
10 is lights out at most camp grounds, I assuming this one is no different.
Sunday March 3rd. Breakfast to be served at JohnF's RV unless otherwise determined. Serving time will be 8am (or correct me if I'm wrong on this JohnF)
9:30am-10am ~ Car round up at the designated parking area.
10am- (no later than 12:30pm) ~ Show and shine. or as the case maybe for some of us, just show Also GROUP photos to be taken during this time.
12:30- 2pm ~ farewells and camp cleanup. Mist be out of the shelters and sites by 2pm.
Hanging around untill that evening is welcomed as long as our sites are clean and we're checked out.
REMEMBER!! There is a $2 per person over 12 admission fee to the park along with a $5 a car excess vehicle fee for overnighters. These are to be paid by YOU the attendee's. Also a reminder that we're asking a non-required but appreciated $10 per Fiero forparticipation to help pay for everything that we're covering.
(I hope this appeases to the masses this time. And I hope everyone enjoys and appreciates what me and revin are going through trying to get this all worked out. Any further questions or comment email or PM, either revin or me.)
Thanks for the intrest and the participation. Josh
I plan to make it....sounds like a good time! Sign me up.
What is the name of this event?? McKinny Cruise? McKinny Fiero Cruise & Camp out? Fiero Lone Star Camp Out? McKinney Fiero Rendezvous? Somebody making T-shirts?
I wont be heading down with JohnF but will be there that evening. (Get off work at 4) But do need to know. Who has what for sleeping arangments, as I need a place
We''re comming (breathin hard or sumpthin)! It'll be just a show up, no shine for us too. We'll probably skip the cruise that afternnon and take a nap. Don't NOBODY look inside at our ratty seats either. Thanks Red & Revin for the efforts put forth. Don & Jane

So far nothing is conflicting for me and my wife on the 2nd. We are coming from Dallas so might not make it to the Bill's meeting place, but hope to make the cruise start time.
Way too cool! I have three cabins(8 per cabin) and a small bed for loki out side( ha ha ha just joking Loki!!!) I will stick around the site to help welcome the late people and make some new friends. I will be joining JohnF and Loki for dinner friday. looks like big fun for all!! I guess the media should show up on SAT evening?????? or Sun morning?? one one day and other the next??
Redhaze, Thanks to you and everybody for organizing this 'First annual Central Texas Spring Meet'. I'm going to be there if I can get the trans changed in time in my only non-parts car . I'm excited about the cruise. Out here in the wilds of West Texas I've only seen two other Fieros driving on the road. Cruising for several hours with ten or more sounds like lotsa fun. My car is a stock '86 GT with 57,000 miles. It spent most of it's first 12 years in a garage. As far as I know, most of the parts are original. I'll have a spare ignition module, fan belt, and some tools. I plan on doing a good checkup and putting a new battery in. I'm looking at a round trip of at least 700 miles.
Does anybody have any suggestions for parts to bring or change before I make the trip?
I will take $ when you show up ( or want to sleep in side!!) I live here so any "repairs"( I hope not needed) I can assist with. Hey would anybody want to do a cruise to a junk yard with some Fieros in it?? (Hwy 71) but don't take all my parts!!hee hee

Josh, thanks for you and Revin continuing to pursue this! I know it takes a lot more effort than an idea to actually pull an event off, so hats off to ya!
I plan on being there... I DO like the cruise idea. Anything that will turn heads and add to the 'gawk factor' is something I'm in for! Even though the trip down from Ft Worth is about 3 hours, a scenic trip for grub sounds like a great way to spend the afternoon. I can't spend enough time in my Fiero! (note: I said IN... not UNDER)
The only way I could get my wife to go was to promise a hotel room in Austin. Actually her statement was something to the effect of "I don't wanna sleep where it smells like pee" This being the mantra for the weekend, I used priceline.com and got us a room at the 'Omni-Ambassador' for $46.00 (way to go William Shatner!) The Omni is on the south side of Austin (closer to Mckinney Park) and rooms start booking at $99.00, so I reckon $46.00 ain't bad. If a few others join us, we might could make the Omni "The Official Hotel of Texas Fiero's" or somesuch.
I don't know of many events you can go to and have the organizers only ask for $10.00. That sounds like cheap money for a fun weekend!
Looking forward to meeting you all! maryjane... I won't look at your seats (I don't check out a guys seat anyway... ewww) if you promise not to look at my headliner!

About the road rally on Saturday, do you want to "hear" my proposed course in detail or do you already have one designed? Mine has eating and picture-taking for participants and their cars (Mt.Bonnel, the 360 suspension bridge, lookout point(s) at Lake Travis). FYI, I've driven the Austin area for 25 years....RonT...

I would hope we have more than 4 or 5 Fieros here.
Unfortunately, that's all the participation I see on the forum.
RedHaze, Revin, any PM's?
Do we have enough participation to justify a meeting? You guys have given a lot of advance notice and planning and it is on a weekend. Plans have been published -----

I'm still trying to get the other 2 Fiero's on the road and ready for the Get Together, but doesnt look good Finally got the RedHaze running right, so all that left on it is to finish the paint job and a few interior touches. It might even shine a little
The other two aren't shiners just showable, IF they're drivable to the meet. Sure hope they are. Especialy the Indy...
It'll be me and my best friend and his woman. Since hes adopted my RedHaze for the time being LOL

Hey. I'm new (been reading awhile though). How about an 87 GT with fading paint that needs a new muffler? Would that convey the wrong message to the news crews?

Official notice has been given at our last AAFO meeting and we should have a fair turnout. Will be able to confirm participants at the Feb meeting, the weekend before the event. Regardless, in addition to Chop and Ron, myself and ma wife will be there for what looks like the entire weekend, (Robert/Elida White), 88 Coupe, Scott with his 84 Coupe and Paul with his 88 Formula. Hey! Even my Mom might tag along with her 88 Coupe. (Yes, even me mum owns a Fiero!.....how many of you can brag bout that?) Will be there with bells on at Bill Millers! Great JOB! LOOKING FORWARD TO IT! "The Prez" AAFO PS...event is also posted on the calander of our website.
Get togethers like this are rare, 65vair, where there are this many from so far away.Best take advantage of it while the opportunity presents itself. My Fiero is by no means a showcar either. This get together is mostly to meet other owners/members. You're too close not to come.
VERY GLAD this is all coming together so well. It's going to be great meeting some more of the family. Only Fiero people I've met from here so far is, Gold-86SE, revin and cardealer. btw rev, make sure cardealer is bringing that beast out for the show I wanna see it on the road. Now if I could only get him to bring it down to Alamo Dragway to race these slowbies lol
SEE YOU ALL SOON!!!

Hey, you guys missed the first Fiero Cruise of the year today!
Myself, Cheever3000 and two others from the Houston area (Lone Star Houston members) cruised the main drag of beautiful downtown Lovejoy, Texas. We four, along with about 50 other cars, made a large impact.
Hopefully, we have gotten the Houston area LS members to come to our Mar. get together.
Come on Lone Star Fieros, let's see'um!
We also discussed plans for an April and Oct get togethers & with maybe a "Carnival" thrown in.
Hey. Will anyone going to this thing have experience with exhaust problems? I've got an exhaust that Tim Allen would probably be proud of, but it's because of the leaks in it I think. This is going to be my daily driver and as cool as it sounds, it ain't gonna work for 80 miles a day! I just bought it. It has a rebuilt 2.8 and new clutch and I can't figure out why they didn't go ahead and fix the exhaust while they were at it. Unless they wanted it to be like this. Anyway, I won't be looking for any work to be done, just some opinions on some causes/solutions.
Well, that was weird. I just posted this and it went all weird then didnt show my post...
anyways, thought I dig this one back up since the original has been getting all the hits.
Also wanted to say that my 87 won't be at the event, but it should be at the San Antonio Round up interior and all. I hope to have interior photos to show off in March though... its coming along nicely and hope it finishes up beautifully.
Hey Smoooth, I'll send ya the pics ASAP so you can LMK what you think.
Now that NTFC and AAFO (thanks to both) have advertised (and seem to be participating), it might be nice to have the complete itinerary posted for planning purposes.
I'm sure everyone can't (won't) stay at the State park venue so there should be some common meeting place nearby for those.
Camping is not everybody's thing even if a Fiero show/cruise and get together is!
