I would go for a 4T60 non electric.
That's what I did. Very easy swap.

There also are newer 6 speed transmissions that will handle larger torque loads but these require a kit to use them. V8 Archie sells the G6 transmissions and the kits to mount them to a Fiero engine or a SBC V8.
