Quick update...

Had a prblem with the engine smoking...turned out it wasnt the engine at all...a cracked CAT was allowing exhaust up under the heatshield...which was oil soaked, and the consistency of tar in there. I think that would have been smoking for a long time. I switched the exhaust system out with a new working one and no more smoke.

I am having a problem though...

I took it out for a short drive, 3/10 of a mile, and heard a scraping sounds coming from the rear. Sounded kinda like something rubbing on the rotors. I took a look and didnt see anything...also the sounds didnt seem to be at the same rotation speed as the wheels. Could it be my transmission? I checked the fluid and it was low...even though I have put 6 quarts in it. I dont have any leaks so I am unsure where this sound is coming from and if I should just keep adding fluid to the tranny till I see it full on the dip stick...

Fill the transmission with fluid, problem solved...

The scraping turned out to be a small section of the shield still rubbing...I didnt see it when I looked the first time.

Took it into a shop to have the A/C fixed...she's blowin' cold!

I am now just barely 200 miles into the break-in period...once I hit 500 I'll be happy and can she what she can do...right now its easy cruising till she's broken in.

New pictures coming soon of the interior work....maybe an audio file of the new engine running.

I havent posted to this thread in a while...but I got around to doing some work on the exterior after getting a few hundred miles on the new engine. She's still running beautifully!

I was looking at the paint that was on the car and discovered that if I put a little work into it I should be able to bring that show room shine back into this 20 year old paint job. Didnt turn out too bad if I do say so myself! I also replaced my side windows with a set from the Fiero Store. I got the look I was going for with those...not exactly stock...but close...its very smooth, I love it!
