Free bump, and a dumb idea.

I was thinking, since most of you were talking about using Mini ITX boards and laptop pieces; there might be a way to incorporate the new technology, but make the new stuff look "old school" to match the Fiero. With more and more people putting multimedia systems with XBOX's and PS2's in their rides; why not do the same with the Fiero, but use an older system? This site www.junkmachine.com shows how to use Mini IXT boards and laptop parts, and make them fit in a Nintendo. Then you can install whatever operating system, and software that you chose; and have a PC that looks like a Nintendo. That way you can have an 80's gaming system in an 80's car.

Here's a link that shows the system in action, when the creator of this project was showing it on Tech TV. http://www.techtv.com/screensavers/howto/story/0,24330,3450815,00.html Some of you might have seen it.

ahhh memories..

on my old fiero my cousin and i had a 5" color tv, vcr mounted behind the drivers seat (no dvds, this was about 10yrs ago) and a Sega Genesis mounted behind the passenger seat We thought we were the coolest things around! lol

along the lines of mp3s and interfaces, this is something that i've thought about quite a bit too. i'm looking for older model laptops now. you wouldn't need but a 200mhz processor or so to run a Win2K system just for mp3s. I'm not really into it for video. you can find cheap, workable laptops on ebay all the time.
