This weekend I finally got the engine back after many delays.
Before:
After:
Done: - New cam installed - New heads installed - New pistons installed - New bearings installed - Crankshaft polished - New seals installed - Polished SS screws whereever visible - New waterpump - New timing chain - New oil pump - Underdrive pulley - Block and everything cleaned and painted black - and lots of other small stuff...
This is the engine out of my 88 GT parts car. In the coming weeks I'll remove the V6 from the Yellow Fiero, give the engine bay and cradle a good cleaning+new paint and then the engine+bay will finally match the rest of the car!

Just a high volume oilpump and the underdrive pulley. The engine will get the Sprint headers and a Borla exhaust plus what I already have on the current V6: - K&N air filter - K&N oil filter - Supertech low-temp fan switch and low-temp thermostat - Fiero Store polished aluminum air tube
Engine is strong enough and car is fast enough for me. I'm can go 130 mph on the Autobahn with my current V6 and that's just perfect.

did you bother gasket matching and porting your lower and middle intake while you were at it? there's alot to be be desired in the lower intake, and the middle is quite a ways from being gasket matched. It's a relatively easy and straightforward job if you have a dremel.

Don't forget to remove all the push rods to install the gaskets for the lower manifold. Don't cut the gaskets to put them on or they won't seal correctly.

Just that it's not going to last if the prior cleaning wasn't good. I tell you that my hands are f***** up right now from the brake cleaner and the scrubbing...

I know why I got mine media blasted before paint now. But mine was apart. WOuldn't do it to a trans that is together. For the small cost of a rebuild kit it might have been worth doing while it was out. Well if it is in your budget anyway. I know they can blowout fast.
I put trailer light inserts in the sockets of my notchie taillights at one point before I did the trans am tails... Its been done a few times on notchbacks, I havne't really seen many fastback tails like that... Maybe they are just too valuable !

I bet youre having fun now . With this setup you could use colored bulbs, you want the colored glass bulbs, avoid the painted bulbs because theyre worse. and then some grill mesh behind the lense, I think black mesh in your case. There should be a few examples on the forum.....but, I also think two round corvette lights behind each stock lense would be really cool. Its what I would have done if I didnt change the rear for other lightunits.

One question, Why does every one paint the block Black? Not just you but GM does it. You cant see oil leaks if its a black block. Know what I am saying.
That motor and tranny you have is looking good.

other colors than black seem dirty much quicker, thats the reason id do it, red looks cheasy over done, and other colros jsut dont seem "tastefull" usualy. Blakc is sudtle and easy to make clean looking

You might want to get the valve covers on now, before you install the engine, it will be much harder later. Try putting them on with the intake in the way and see how hard it is. The new engine looks great BTW.
