You might spill food or drink in your car and it's a little bit distracting too.
Most things have a varing degree of distraction while driving, on a scale from 1 to 10 (10 being the worst) I think we should rate what we think how "distracted" we are
Texting....10 Eating a hamburger.... 3 Eating a whopper....9 (crap always falls out!!!) drinking....1
i find it difficult to eat a big mac meal from mcdonalds. no where to put your cup. your bugar wraper is in your lap. your fryes are in your mcdoanlds bag on the passenger seat. your bugar is in your hand while your palm is pushing agaist the steering wheel while you try to shift gears because you got a manual. and to top it off. you have to keep your eyes on the road. but to busy cuz your to worryed about dropping the burger in your hand and tipping over your drink. or turning to sharp and dumping your frys all over the carpet. i guess i put to much thought into that... :P
i used to text while driving until they made talking on your phone and texting illegal. but watching that video made me not even look at my phone while driving anymore. the worst pain ever for me would be if i killed someone and i lived. having to deal with that would suck! i would rather be dead and have them live.

Does this mean he offically is a liar now or is it a hypocrit? Is that a cheap shot at the owner of the forum? I guess he hasn't learned the rules of the game yet.

He must have gotten back on the meds or fallen off the wagon again. I see he is goin' nuts in tech again and changing his avatar every 2 minutes so it seems it must be business as usual.....or a nervous habit. I'm sure Cliff will make reference to his post.

You are referring to the fact I didn't ban Avengador1 because he posted your name in a post and you PM'd me about it telling me you expected me to enforce my own rules and ban him because he posted someone's private information?
Hah! That was good! Sorry I didn't get that immediately. I don't do snide remarks very well.
(Or am I supposed to react all angry and hurt now?)

I do not text and drive. I think it really depends on who you are and where you are, but all my teenage friends who are girls will text while the drive, and it is plain scary to drive with them. The no texting law is there to put a stop to those who should not be texting and driving because many people do it all the time at improper times. I would be devastated if I crashed my fiero, or if someone crashed into me. If they were texting at the time, I would be unbelievably pissed off and would hound their insurance company. It is hard to say if it is right or not. I do not trust the majority of people who text and drive, but there are those experienced drivers who can do it at acceptable times and be fine. I like the law because it doesn't really affect those who want to text at the appropriate times, i.e open roads, but it at least cuts down on those who text in heavily populated areas where there is a greater percentage of police. I just think it is a hard call to make, and that the majority of people should not be texting and driving. I really enjoy driving so I just drive and have fun.
I don't know how to take the statements you make but I will tell you this. If you take your eyes off the road for 1 second at 75 MPH you have travelled 110 feet without even knowing where your car is going and that to me is just plain dangerous. I am not saying distractions can't happen like the wasp in your story but the idea of driving is to drive the car and keep the distractions we have control over to the very bare minimum.
Shelby
you need to take your eyes off the road to check mph, the radio, mirrors, etc. your point is stupid.
i agree with phonedawgz, BUT i dont think you should text while driving on a highway or in heavy traffic. i know people who do it, ive done it too, but i dont agree with it. but to each his own. it is NOT causing more accidents, its simply taking the place of some other random cause. if you think its ok to stare at your phone for 20 secodns while driving, YOU WOULD DO THE SAME THING WITH SOMETHING ELSE IF YOU DIDNT HAVE A PHONE. stupid people are stupid. they arent stupid with cellphones, they are stupid altogether.
you are ALL stupid for arguing over what is right and what is wrong. yeah, that includes me for sticking my head in. the sheer amount of ignorance and self-righteousnesses is overwhelming, and i didnt even make it thru the entire first page.
