Poor / underserved / uneducated people become violent because that's how they are raised to respond to situations like that. It has nothing to do with race.
If you go to a white trailer park and make red neck jokes, you're going to get your ass beat. If you go to a black ghetto and make black jokes, you're going to get your ass beat. If you go to a "China town" and make Asian jokes, you're going to get your ass beat. If you go to a Muslim ghetto in Michigan and make Koran jokes, you're going to get your ass beat. If you go to a barrio in the South West and make Mexican jokes, you're going to get your ass beat.
If you go to any fancy/exclusive dinner party and make bigoted / racist jokes about any group for which that race or creed makes up the majority... you will be quietly escorted by security and shown the back door.

I'm far from racist but if someone came up to me making white jokes and such they might get the finger and some racial slurs thrown back but im not going to physically hurt them over it... I think it's safe to say the only purpose this thread has served is to show how much ignorance and racism is present on this message board.
Not as much as it showed how much people don't know history.. Not many in this country, that have had their family come to This country, that where of a station, that they were not at sometime "owned/slaves" Everyone else have managed to move past that, all but one group.. I have trouble telling someone to get over it when recent family memory has stupid horrible acts of racism institutionally holding them down like chains. Realtors that block black buyers who want to move to a safe neighborhood, or employers who nodded their head and passed over a qualified black to hire an unqualified family member of someone they know. These insults add up. The Saturday Night Special ban in places was to keep blacks from buying inexpensive guns to protect themselves. Insults, and they are told to the children and grandchildren as stories of "we have to watch out for them, they will try to ruin your families life" and the jailing of family member proves the point while again limiting options.

I was born in 1966, most obvious signs of racism disappeared by the time I was aware of anything beyond my family. It is not my evil works but, I understand in this case the sins of the parents are assigned to the children. It is as unfair as the original discrimination. I have been turned down for a job and told it was because I am white, and it was tough for them because they did not have the non white candidates at the time locally and he said he expected a lot of excuses because of the long commute. I do not know how things are where you live but, we are a couple generations from lynchings, church bombings, and the like.
