And ingest those harmful chemicals (artificial sweeteners) instead?

What's the matter, you don't like TDA?

Jason, it may be "debatable", but that doesn't mean it's not true.

If people didn't develop a "sweet tooth", they'd be much better off health-wise.

Agreed. But if you must drink soda's then it would be much healthier to drink diet instead in my opinion. I got off sugars in my Atkins days. I still have those habits. Such as diet pop and splenda in my coffee.

I'll often see grossly overweight people in the supermarket with cases of "diet" cola in their shopping-carts. Perhaps that's their idea of health food.

Yeah. And "I'll have a triple cheese burger with everything, super duper size fries and a biggie diet coke please".

Man, those "recent events" just kept coming this year. totally let this thread die.

I'm around 220, and still walkin' a few miles a day. I'm now a member of my company's 'Wellness team', and lead some of the wellness lunch walks.
Setting up part of the basement for fitness. have to deal with some health stuff, but am looking to be at 200 this time next year. 190 would be better, but for now, I'll shoot for 200.

A gym membership and a trainer is one way to go. Especially if other things keep coming up. It's just that guilty feeling of breaking an appointment that keeps you on track, plus your paying quite a bit for the trainer. When the wife and I did it, it was a little over 3k for the year, twice a week. She went from a size 20 to a 10 in one year. I just gained mass and lost fat. 183 at the start and finished at 172 or so.

Not a bad idea, but we don't have time due to our schedules and kid-related stuff. But being that I am now part of the "wellness team" at work, I can legitimately work out during my day, as part of my lunch, at least...

Dang, between my commute and lunch "wellness walk", I walked over ten miles today! :O

My feet are fallin' off!

when people are looking for a good excuse
to quit or give up, They just need some to give them an
example of suborn determination.

You are headed the right way and it's a + that others are
encouraged by to follow..... .
