Been ping-ponging up and down between 200 and 230 the past few years I'm currently 231, need to get to 200 and stay there. Would be nice to get below, but for now, I'm shooting for 200.
Also have a few (programming) projects all about 20% done, I need to get them done.
I've got ~45 days into p90X twice, and had to stop due to dopey non-related injuries. I'm going to wake up an hour earlier to do it before work, because my nights are booked solid.
So I'm doing the trifecta of exercising, coding, and juicing.
I'll update weekly. Maybe a little more often than that.
Wish you best of luck. My last dr visit we had a discussion i was at 205. Mentioned my levels showed high carb diet. Worked with dietitian and a low carb diet dropped 15 in the first two weeks. Starting workouts now as well but the diet life style change was a huge change. I wish you the best of luck.
Do you have any access to free weights and/or stationary/recumbent bicycles?
Anytime I'm sitting at home,(except when I do server maintainence) I'm gonna be pedaling. I do have some weights, but I'm going to focus on cardio-type stuff for now. The last time I did this, I dropped the weight within the 45 days. Would have kept it off if I didn't allow myself to *nom* stuff I shouldn't have. heh
I'm pulling for you I need to get back down ~20 myself. I lost it, then let "busyness" push exercise to the back burner and gained it all back over a year. Make time
The problem is that half the time I don't really care anymore, I feel like I'm just going to work until I die no matter what I do, so what's the sense in giving a crap at this point what I eat? The other half of the time I'm wondering if the other half is right, and it's not worth fighting.
I need to start working out and get fit, but I lack the motivation to do it by myself. I'm currently 6'1-ish and in a stable float(if you can call floating 'stable') between 260 and 275. I am currently at odds with my dr, who wants me to get under 200lbs and stay there, and myself where I want to stay in the 260-ish range, but get my measured body fat down from 30-35% to around 14-16%. When I was in the Army I measured at 6'1 and weighed 160. After getting out of the service I creeped up to over 250. I've been down to under 200 since the first time I hit 250 and I didn't like it. I felt small, and it really screwed with my head and I started to develop a napoleon complex and was cranky a lot of the time. Since getting back up to the weight I am now, my moods have mellowed out a lot and I'm much more friendly.

I'm willing to start the next round of p90x30 (the half-hour one) with you next week, if you're game... I'll just do a few of them this week to warm up...
Good luck! I have found one thing that worked for me is to do exercise by distance not time. Set a distance goal and you find yourself driven to get it completed sooner and working harder as you shapeup thus losing weight faster and faster. I went from 206 down to 168 in about 6 months. Did not change my diet but did noticed after a hard cardio workout it made me not hungry. I was using a rowing machine which has a way to compete with people your own age if you'd like online. The model I used is in the link below. These machines can work the weight right off. When you see someone using one of these don't let it fool you how easy it looks. The sweat will be pouring off of you if done right and its low impact. If you have back problems ask you doctor first but for me it cured a back problem from a motocross wreck when I was younger and this made it so I never noticed it again.
anyways.... I have been thinking about moving to a early morning pre-job workout also. just not sure if that will be good or bad for my performance at work.... going from full rest to full humpy seems almost abusive
Since I'm finally off chemo, out of bed and back to work the wife and I have started running at night. We started the "From walking to running in 30 days" program on Neilarey.com. I have the P90X DVDs (found them at a Goodwill for $10 for the whole set!!) but I am not able to do it, yet - still trying to get my energy back up to pre-chemo levels. Once I'm done with day 30 on the running program I will start P90X in the mornings and continue to run at night.
Also as a consequence of the colon resection there are many foods I can no longer eat. Combine that with the desire to remain as healthy as possible and it adds up to a radical change it diet. I already had (and used) a juicer but my employer bought me a Nutribullet early on in my treatment, while I was still able to work (I love my job and my coworkers!) and I drank a fair amount of green smoothies before the chemo neuropathy took my ability to tolerate cold (though now that I'm off chemo that has gone away).
Between the dietary changes and the exercise I hope to drop about 20 more pounds (I lost about 30 pounds during radiation but have gained 2/3 of it back since) and become much more physically fit. I see my recent recovery as a second chance to live a healthier lifestyle and I don't intend to waste it!

Breakfast and Lunch has mostly been Green Juice Celery, kale, spinach, cucumber, apple, ginger, tomatoes Mix in some beet and apple sometimes
No coffee, no meat. Had some headaches yesterday, but feelin' better now. Had Juice for breakfast and lunch with half a veggie wrap. I'm not doing a "juice fast" , I don't want to have to worry too much about the plumbing - eating veggies and such will help with that.
It's funny - its harder to deal with the juice stuff than the diet itself. buying, making, cleaning up afterwards. but it's worth it.
I'll post again after this weekend.

224 lbs. Had some coffee this morning with my juice. Was tired this morning.
It's been 50/50 juices and "healthy" food. Exercising in the morning. Been eating a carrot instead of [insert awful snack food here].
My mission the next few days is to get my basement workshop "usable" and deal with the snow.
The cravings for salt and sugar and crap are a lot less demanding.
Heart rate us 89. First time it's been under 100 for the past month(its normally 75-80, but about a month ago, it went up) BP is also better (usually 120/80, except the past month, it was higher)
That's very inspiring, thanks for sharing your story.
I have a juicer and a nutribullet, and have found myself using the nutribullet more and more- it is so easy to use and the cleanup is so easy!
Best thing is that I made some excellent progress on a few programming projects I've been working on over the weekend.
But cutting out so much of the bad food is making me see just how much "bad food" is out there. I know, its a big "no duh", but all the ads I see on the train are either for really bad snack foods, crappy reality TV, and debt consolidation stuff.
It's hard to shake old "friendships", relationships with "bad food".
You need to loosen years of built up fecal matter. That can be done with krill oil or flax seed oil suppliments. The krill oil is supposed to be better (not a laxative)....Take my word for it! It works!
222 lbs. Cleaned out the basement workroom enough so I can see the floor and got rid of 8 30 gallon bags worth of crap. Cleaned up my clothes closet so it's organized. And now, I fit into my size 36 pants again.
Man, that feels good.

Or you can get that wonderful flavored soda/juice that they tell you to take before a colon check up.(at any drugstore). Trust me, you'll be cleaned out.. spic and span

Thats interesting. At that height, you may even be able to squeeze into a 34 pants.
Every pair of pants I have are 34/32, except for a few that I had to buy recently which are 36/32. Yet another reason why I want to get back down to a more reasonable size...
Ralax fit? I'm an inch or so taller than you and a good 210lbs, and am comfortable in 34s. If they ever start getting too tight, it's time I did something about it. Don't wanna have to replace all my pants!

Most males gain weight above the belt.. I've been in 36/30's since I was 15.. at 180lb.. at the moment I'm 248lb still 36/30 but I normally am 220lb ,this being on medical leave from work, isn't helping my cause. I'd love to be 180 again, but I'll be happy if I get to 200lb
I have gone 2 weeks without sodapop. I only lost 6 pounds. Pisses me off.
I gotta' drop 60 pounds.
You shouldn't expect to lose weight quickly just by not drinkin' soda - unless you are very active. make sure you drink at least the same amount of water that you used to drink as soda...
Around 220. Been wearing one of those "UP24" bands, and it's been cool so far. Tracks my footsteps and sleep patterns and allows me to tap in the food I eat. Buzzes every half hour that I'm sitting at my desk. I've been getting my daily 10,000 steps in, and with the buzzing, I've added another 1,000-2,000 steps per day.
Had some unfun events occur, it would have been REALLY hard to deal with them had I not 'rebooted'. Not that it was too much better, but it would have been worse...

Start counting calories...no soda or beer.If you must have soda, buy the zero calorie or low calorie soda. Take flax seed or krill oil to clean out your pipes.Buy a stationary bike for night rideing.
