Ok So long story short. I got screwed over by my insurance company on my old Veloster. I had made a call about a month ago to ensure that my insurance was all paid up and all from automatic withdraw and I was told that it was fine... Turned out it was not fine. And I was not told by my insurance that I had been dropped until pretty much it had been lapsed 30 days and my dad telling me over the phone to not drive my car home because I had no insurance (not by my insurance company who had my phone number and used no means of contact to tell me). I did everything I could to fix it but with no avail handling things outside of court. And in my state after a 30 day laps they put a suspension on your registration for up to 6 months. so id pretty much be paying for a car that I cannot get back to work in for 6 months. I've filed a lawsuit against my previous insurance carrier for falsely and inaccurately stating the condition of my policy and failing to contact me when they found differently, So while I was wating for my dad to finish testing at the hospital I was going to go get something to eat when I passed by this ford dealership, I had always liked the look of the 2010+ mustang but I could not afford one. I had seen the Exact one I had been looking for (minus the V8 ) and stopped in to look at it.. After doing some dealing with the dealership I pretty much got this car with only $500 negative equity on my veloster and my payments going up a couple bucks per month.. My insurance did go up a little due to the lapse and the fact its a sports car (the lapse is going to be fixed in court) Its a 3.7L V6 6 speed manual transmission its a base model with a few upgraded options. I inted on changing out the radio as well as a nice set of wheels but performance and ride wise It has more than enough power to get out of its own way and surprisingly it does not ride like your typical pony car the handling is pretty good and the shifter setup in it is amazing.. Heres some pics, nothing special But I really love the car (mines a 2012 with 20K on it also the MPG aren't horrible, its not 4 cylinder 50MPG veloster but it sees in the low 30's on the highway if you can keep your foot out of it
(now before the bashing starts about me being irrespirable bear in mind here I drive trucks long haul for a living. They claim they notified me by mail which is completely useless when im 1000 miles away.)

Nice car! Hope things work out with the insurance company.
Ohh it will.. ive been taking to a lawyer and he says technically what they did is illegal and by them not fixing it can be to.... he told me the note on my mustang could get a bit smaller by the time im done
Good luck with your case. I hate insurance companies, and they haven't even raped me except on the usual premiums.
I'm looking for a car like that for She Who Must Be Obeyed. Preferably maroon. Possibly a convertible. Mind if I ask what it set you back? Somebody else, on here, just bought a new (but strippped) 'stang for like $18K.

Mine was about 16K now also bear in mind about those new ones with the deals they were throwing in all kinds of rebates (some that most people don't qualify for) to get that price. I looked into a new one as well and it was just to much for me, Also I drove all the new pony V6's the challenger the Camaro and the stang. the mustang takes the cake by a ton. were talking 0-60 just on the wrong side of the 5 second range 1/4 mile tested in at 14.0 seconds 306HP out of the 3.7 in it, its a monster for what it is. the V6 in these are rally no joke for what they are.
Trust me... Where V6s are concerned, I'd pick a Mustang in a hot minute. And the 30+ MPG doesn't hurt any at all. The Challenger (I had an 09 Hemi) and the Camaro are just too damned big.

ehh the mustang is big to. they don't look big from far but when you get right next to one and in it they do get a big larger... don't get me wrong though, it does ride like a buick.
Are you looking into an auto or manual?

Sure, I like it & all, but I'm curious... is there any make & model of car you haven't owned?
lol plenty.... I think im stuck with this one for a while though, the only reason I went through with it is my payments stay about the same and it gets driven a few times a month. one to the terminal where my truck is, and ones home and occasional weekends.

Insurance companies are scum. I once received a threat from the DMV in the mail for suspension of my license for a lapse in insurance. The insurance company notified the state that I had cancelled my policy, while continuing to bill me. I could have ended up with a suspended license, even though I was still covered. In another incident, I had an insurance cancel my insurance when a relative had sold their car (not mine, both were Fieros). I didn't know for months until my next invoice came and the Fiero was missing on the policy.
It is big compared to the sporty/sports cars you have had. However, Mustangs are far more "tossable" than any Challenger or Camaro. The base suspension is tuned to be rather compliant over bumps however. So you may want to look into some upgrades to tighten it up.
Otherwise, they are fun cars in themselves, and these new V6's that are out have more than enough power to keep you entertained! (It's more powerful than my uncle's 2003 GT 'Vert.)
My 08 Bullet Mustang was fun to drive. Your V6 now, has more HP than my V8 did, cams and headers and a tune only added maybe 30 more. Insurance companies are mostly thieves...but whatcha gonna do. Best thing if you can afford to is self insure your own cars. Basicly it amounts to having a bank account with enough funds in it to cover what your insurance does (Ohio is $10,000 minimum), and you cant access those funds for any reason other than an accident. I dont do it myself, because I carry $300K/ $100K coverage. I have cash in the bank, but not a spare 1/2 million, lol.
Meh I wanted the V8 but it was way to out of my price range. plus these things have more Omph under the hood than I even thought was possible from a V6.. Don't know um till you drive one
I'll say this much....You do good things for the economy by buing lal these cars!
For insurance I try to aviod the issue by just paying once a year, this way it is tougher for me to screw up and the insurance company. Yeha, it is a lot of cash all at once but I figure I gotta pay it sooner or later.
Also. Where's the thread where you said the Volestor would be something you kept for a long time?
Again if someone were paying attention in reading comprehension you would know why.. There were very hefty rebates going on when he bought that mustang I looked all over for the same deal he got and could not find it. this car I got at its trade in price on KBB and also looked all over my area on cars.com. A base model 2012 mustang with slightly higher miles than mine are selling in my area for $18500+.. So please go back to 3rd grade and try again. And also mine is not a fully stripped down mustang. I have the information center, Backup alarm, and the option for $35 to put in automatic headlights.

I think we can all agree we've heard that before
Nice car though, I think ya made a helluva upgrade there from that Velociraptor thing...that car was just downright ugly. I'm a fan of the new Mustangs, they've come a loooooooooong way from the mid-90's. I'd honestly take one over a Camaro, V6 for V6. Heck, I may even take a GT over an SS I'm kind of getting sick of GM's crap...been under-impressed for years now.

I can't believe you could ever insult someone's English skills.
You could have just said you weren't as good at shopping.
Seriousley for those of you negatively keeping track of.my cars I was given no choice in the matter on this. It was either this or a long 6 months off of work. For the rest of ya.. thanks for the complements I'm really enjoying the car.i also just installed automatic headlights into it.
Congratulations. My 2014 I just got a couple of months ago looks exactly the same, minus the red spider floor mat!
I would have preferred the manual transmission as well, but took one for the team and got the dog-o-matic.
I'm getting 24-25mpg combined city and hwy driving. I'm sure you will do as well or better.
I hope you enjoy it. Great value car.
I wanted to let you know as well if you do t have automatic headlights it's very easy to I stall in these cars. If you have the senor dome in the middle of your dash board that senses light for your gages that also ties I to your headlights. All you have to do is put in the auto headlight switch.. check to see if it will work with the 2014 but it did work on my 12
Good Luck on the Suit, hope things work out good for you.
My Son is on his 3rd Mustang V6 Manual, he gets a new one every three years, they've all treated him very well. About the only things he upgrades is Engine Control Management, and Exhaust. In my opinion, they have enough power to keep you content and have a lot of fun. The V8's are nice, but for an everyday driver, they will sting you at the gas pump. I almost bought a Bullitt Mustang for a daily driver, but the fuel economy was so bad, I changed my mind after test drive.

In all fairness...I hope you enjoy the car...and that it is trouble free for as long as you keep it.
