Not bad for a camera that sat for probably around 40 years. Top one is the negative, which I think turned out much better once I got it into Photoshop. The scanner over-contrasted the actual photo for some reason
Why is a camera in your bathroom . Mr farve would be pleased.
I wish the answer was more interesting. But the honest reason is the lighting was better in there. And my iPhone doesn't have a flash. Plus you get to enjoy my frog loofah.
I went to Goodwill today, but they only had a couple of newer OneSteps.
Great photos!! The film just came in for my camera. But I am waiting for a AAA battery holder so I can update my Automatic 210 to work with modern batteries.

Keep your fingers crossed! According to a couple of Flickr users who went to the Impossible outlet store at the factory, they're about ready to roll out color 600 film! Could be announced as early as tomorrow; if not also tomorrow, then the release date should be sometime this month. They're saying the test shots they saw looked like the results of TimeZero film; heavy in blues and reds, with high contrast.
Those are Photomagic System 2 cameras. After examining and "dissecting" one, they're really "un-marked" Sun 600 LMS cameras originally marketed in the early-80s. The plastic surround holds the flash up in-place, and the holes are designed to crop the image into a circle. Paired with a transparent "filter" on top of the film pack, it creates the (uber-90s) type of image seen at-right.
The purpose: these images were then cut down and used for buttons. These cameras were really a part of a kit to make such buttons.
As I only have the cameras, I have removed the plastic "fascia" from one of them so I have a plain-old 600 LMS camera. The other one, which was branded as a "PhotoGraphix 2", was the newer JobPro 2, designed to be "construction-grade".
Here's the yellow one; a Job Pro 2. An interesting note, Impossible just rescued a bunch of these from NYPD auction, but HOLY CRAP they are gouging the price at $120 a pop. I've got 7 shots of 600 in this one.
Oh, and here's a Photomagic camera with the cropping "mask" taken off... the Job Pro was hiding under a similar mask.

Cool, and yeah for some reason I can never scan or photograph the black and white images to look as good as the actual photograph, which is why I hang onto the negatives.

If you want the "filters" that go on top of the film packs let me know, I have two of them that I likely won't use again. I have the Wild Thing one I posted, and another that reads "Super Star".

Awesome!! I will let you know about the filters, once I get my camera kit I will see whats included.
Cool thread! Especially for those of us that grew up with these cameras. I had a Square Shooter when I was a kid in the early 70's.....I loved that thing.
But all of this old instant camera talk has reminded me of an eerie tale.....

If you love old Polaroids, read "Four Past Midnight" by Stephen King....."The Sun Dog" will be quite entertaining.
Thanks for that link, very interesting!!
I bought 3 more Polaroid cameras today (Joy Cam, Pronto, another Automatic 210 bought only for the flash) and 3 more packs of film for my Automatic 210.
I am currently finding I really really enjoy my packflim cameras. The photo quality is great. I am planning on taking a trip to disneyland soon and I think I will take my Automatic 210 and shoot some photos. I expect to get some comments about the the camera. It looks very retro, especially with the flash attached.
Got an SX-70 coming and got it for only $36, a steal! Just needs a good polishing and re-skinning. Hopefully it works, guys says it's been sitting for two decades.

Awesome!! Keep us posted on the re-skinning, as I have one right now that needs that.
Also I willing to bet it works. These are pretty die hard.
Should be here Saturday or Monday. In the meantime I went to Goodwill today... I'm at 12, now. 13 if you count the one I "dissected"... the lens fits pretty nice on my Canon FS-200, almost has a fisheye effect.
Thanks! To be fair, I did use PS to fix some of the colors that the scanner picked up incorrectly, I tried to get it back to as close to the original print as possible.
My SX-70 came and it works!! Little bit of Nevr-Dull worked wonders on the stainless. I have some Impossible PX-70 Push on the way so I can film test it! Can't wait!

Nice! The One 600 can be pricey, I'm yet to find one for cheap. The Captiva used 500 film, which is getting harder to find. I may go tomorrow and pick up a second SX-70 Alpha 1 with an electronic flash attachment for an awesome price.
I've heard the PX70 is tricky but does well with long-exposures at night. Also apparently if you soak the photo in hot water for 2 minutes more colors come out.

Thanks! I paid $6.00 for the one600. I have never even seen one before today. I bought it at goodwill, but it does have a few scratches. Also the Captiva does have film in it, but I can't seem to find anymore. The Time-Zero one step thats still on box, looks like its never been used. Its lanyard is still folded and sealed in the plastic, and it has all the books etc.

Me thinks this one could be a highly de$irable camera, to the right person, the packaging was highly unique for a camera at that time - and yours seems to be in great condition.

Thank you. It might have some value in the future, but at this point I say its worth about $30-45. But its a cool thing to own. I paid $18 for it.
Also today I bought this camera for $3.00. Its mint as well.
