id like to raise my dash panel at least two inches because the steering wheel blocks it.i would be simple to raise the back of it.has anyone done this"

The "frame" that carries the gauge set etc is attach to many things...
Some bolts are to support that frame. Other bolts/screws support other things like trim goes under the steering column.

To move just the gauge set up may not be easy because 3 plugs to it may not reach. Most people have problems trying to work w/ the gauge set because tight space & near 0 slack to unplug the back 2 plugs.
Is a big reason why I fixed the gauge clips (see here) in the car because to avoid those plugs. Beside of plug layout... the "board" on back of the set have problems & get "pins" get loose & can short out causing other problems. The set used to post pic's for that page, the "board" completely failed @ bottom near the Tach & several copper traces are floating in air.
