Anyone make a kit to convert all interior lights to led? Something I have been thinking about doing in the future. Would like to stay with the factory orange dash lights, etc.

Some have had success with the dash back lighting, you can search for my own good results.
But when you try to change things like the radio, the ash tray lighting and such, it can get a lot uglier.

Dash Dimmer doesn't work well w/ many LED.
Dim dash is problems w/ dimmer, bad bulbs/sockets, dash dirt, etc.
Orange color is not bulbs.

Agreed, you might get some LEDs that work well but it's not likely to be a popular LED and good luck finding matching LEDs for the different sockets. Then if you have any failures, good luck finding then again.

The most common bulb is the 168/192.
I had installed led replacements for them on my 85GT. The led 168s are readily available. Remember if they don't work, to rotate them to change the polarity. Leds will only work in one direction.
With that said. You may have an issue with them being too bright. The dimmer will not work. They will stay around the same brightness and then just go off.

As has been said on other threads, this is not always true. Based on another thread on this forum, I bought these:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/p...3_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1.

The are bright red and dim just fine.

tshark,
It is good to know that your dash LED's both dim well (you have no complaints in this area) and that you have all the lights for each of the Fiero's lighting sources. Was there a particular kit you purchased that had all the LED's you wanted in one single pack? Or, did you have to purchase each light separately? Let me know....
Cordially,
kevin
Ps. What brand did you buy? Did the brand you purchased also all the other LED lights for the HVAC, cigarette ashtray, etc.

I bought the white version of these for my instrument cluster and they work great. Really bright. I am looking for a LED replacement for the tiny T1 3/4 bulbs on the shifter and ash trays. The only ones I find are showing 1 lumen output. Whereas the old incandescent bulbs range from 4 - 9 lumens. I don't want to reduce brightness. I want more.

Has anyone found a suitable LED replacement for the T1 3/4 bulbs?

Try https://www.superbrightleds.com

I got some from them, cannot recall which but some were for the ashtray and I thought they were pretty good.

Thanks, ltlfrari. Although I did not purchase there, that link helped me understand what I needed. Here is what I ended up purchasing. 3 leds on top and 4 on the sides.

As far as I can tell these little buggers are only used in the heater, auto shift indicator, ashtray, and radio. Is this correct?

I have replaced my courtesy lights and over head lights with a soft white LED and I did my ash tray lights with red and used the ones mentioned above. I have had no issues at all so far. I am leaving the dash lighting because I do dim my dash down a bit and I have never had great luck with dimming LEDs. I have been trying to find an LED light for my Notchie trunk, but so far I have had no luck? Mine gets super hot after a very short time.

Does anyone know where I might find a light that has an on and off switch on it that would fit without having to cut the hole bigger? I have been looking at stuff when I am at the pull-a-part junk yard and haven't had any luck yet.

For trunk lights...
Could use various LED strips "hidden" by trunk seal on latch side. Just unplug OE bulb and add wires under carpet.
(W/o trunk light option from factory, have to wire to C500 for most years.)

This can give a lot of light to all of trunk w/o putting light "in your eyes" like Fiero OE light can.
Plus still have light w/ stuff filling the trunk that's burring the OE bulb.

Don't need "high power" strips that need "heat sinks." These are mainly made for signs etc w/ metal they attach to.

My car is a GT. This is what I just bought off Amazon. It has no switch. It slips right in to replace the incandescent and is very bright. Should have no issues with heat.
