Here is an illustration of how the Spintech 343SC will fit. Pretty close to stock look with no trunk mods.:

------------------
" THE BLACK PARALYZER" -87GT 3800SC Series III engine, custom ZZP /Frozen Boost Intercooler setup, 3.4" Pulley, Northstar TB, LS1 MAF, 3" Spintech/Hedman Exhaust, Autolite 104's, MSD wires, Custom CAI, 4T65eHD w. custom axles, HP Tuners VCM Suite.
"THE COLUSSUS"
87GT - ALL OUT 3.4L Turbocharged engine, Garrett Hybrid Turbo, MSD ign., modified TH125H
" ON THE LOOSE WITHOUT THE JUICE "

Got any pics of the "creative bend" of the 3" exhaust donut?
I'm trying to install the 343SC and get it tuck up enough without half of the muffler
hang to low.

Thanks

i like the idea of quiet. Magnaflow makes this muffler: #12266 2 1/2" in, dual 2 1/4 outs 5"x8"x18" What problems might i have fitting this muffler behind my otherwise stock 3800SC?

Anything longer than about 13" is going to make fitting that muffler in place difficult. It can be done but it usually results in having to eliminate the trunk side heat shield as a muffler longer than about 13" will not fit in the space that the cradle allows. The Spintech is the lowest sounding muffler for its size that we've tried. If you want further sound reduction the exhaust pipes can be wrapped in DEI heat wrap. That tends to make them somewhat like resonators. The Spintech exhaust is not exactly quiet but you can have a conversation in the car while driving. Its far lower than when we had the Flotech Afterburner muffler installed. That muffler was extremely loud and gave a loud drone.

Is there some reason you recommend DEI?? This is cheaper:

I cannot give you an opinion on the lower cost heat wrap. Is it identical material, the same density ???? If it is the same material then by all means it should work. All I can say for sure is that by wrapping the pipes it did provide some sound relief. It was pretty hard getting an acceptable exhaust tone from the 3800
